Do Yourself a Favor and Listen to This CD.......2004-04-01
I had never heard of Chantal Kreviazuk until my sister let me listen to her Colour Moving and Still CD. I absolutely love the cd the very first time I listened to it. I have to admit I didn't care for every song, but even the ones I didn't really care for had good parts to them. I think my first favorite was Soul, then I fell in love with Far Away, and then I really liked M. Her voice has a little bit of Alanis to it but not enough to make it harsh and annoying. No two songs are alike, which is great. I definitely would tell everyone to give this CD a chance.
Beautiful and emotional music.......2003-10-04
The beauty of this album is understated and completely underappreciated (not by fans of course, only critically). On her second release, "Colour Moving and Still", Chantal Kreviazuk pens ten ethereal and captivating songs, and shows great development of the talent she first presented in "Under These Rocks and Stones".
The entire album is a delight to listen to, and although none of the songs would probably qualify as a "radio hit", there are several standout tracks. The opening song "Blue" overflows with melancholy, yet is also reflective and even strangely uplifting. "Dear Life", "Soul Searching", "M", and "Before You" are all excellent, and the lyrics on songs like "Soul" and "Little Things" are simply incredible.
The bonus disc on the Canadian release is also very entertaining, if a tad too short. It includes the previousy unreleased songs "Feels Like Home", a cover of the Lennon/McCartney beauty "In My Life", and "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (also featured on the "Armageddon" soundtrack) Not necessarily essential, but interesting covers nonetheless.
Chantal is a very gifted musician, and she writes some of the best piano tunes this side of Billy Joel. (very different styles of course, but I invariably compare quality pianists to, of all people, the Piano Man) Meaningful lyrics, lush instrumentation, and a beautiful voice make Chantal one of the best kept secrets coming out of Canada. Give her a few listens and you won't be disappointed.
Soul Searching.......2003-05-04
After the successful debut album, UNDER THESE ROCKS AND STONES, Chantal Kreviazuk returned with a new album in the fall of 1999, titled COLOUR MOVING AND STILL. It was promoted with the first single, a bubbly song titled "Before You", which has a killer chorus and makes you want to sing along in glee along to its profound words. Another single was "Dear Life", an uptempo song with another great chorus, and some very interesting and unique lyrics. The song is about being consumed by someone even though they are dishonest and untrue. "Blue" opens the album, and its kind of reminiscent of "Wayne", that same level of emotion is evident. It's a strong song to open the album with. The album is still as personal as the first, however I find I keep returning to this album. Her voice intertwins well with the mystical melodies which are amazing. "M" is a beautiful song, telling the story of a young girl who died too young, and trying to cope with the loss. "Soul Searching" is another catchy song with a great chorus that will have you humming and singing along, with very interesting lyrics once again. The song is about someone who is searching for themselves when it's right in front of them who they really are. "Until We Die" is a beautiful song about coping with death. Another standout is "Eve", a song which chronicals the life of the youngest victims that died from AIDS, a courageous child know as Eve. Usually I would pick and choose songs which are better than others on the album, but on this album, all of the songs are so personal and touching in their own ways, that every song is a gem. If you bought the album in Canada when it was released, you might have got the Limited Edition CD that came with it. On that CD were her covers of "Leaving On A Jet Plane" and "Feels Like Home", as well as a track called "In My Life" (not to be confused with her 2002 hit "In This Life"). Chantal is huge in Canada, but hasn't broke through the US yet, I reccomend everyone to listen to this album and I dare you not to be touched or affected by it. Truly a great album.
A beautiful album.......2000-12-01
I hadn't heard anything by Chantal before "Dawson's Creek" but now I've bought this album I know what I was missing. Every track is sung beautifully and captures the essence and originality of Chantal's style and grace. The melodies are haunting, uplifting, charged with emotion and entirely unforgettable. My favourite and strongest tracks on this CD are "Eve", "Far Away" and "Dear Life". Every song tells a story, the music and lyrics are well written and Chantals truly fantastic and different voice does them justice. My advice to any fans of music featured on "Dawson's Creek" is, instead of going out and buying the soundtracks get this CD instead it's a far better reminder of the show, and I can guarantee it has something to please everybody.
Hearts Moving.......2000-10-27
Chantals beautiful voice, talented piano playing, and wonderous lyrics combine to create the work that is Colour Moving and Still. This album touches every part of the human spirit. The songs on this album are all from the heart, most of these tunes are inspired by real life situations. The opening track "Blue" was inspired by a conversation that was had with a homeless man. Chantals dreamy voice intertwines with the amazing instrumentation to create the perfect song singout of societies frustractions. "Souls" is a textured song chronicling the journey we all go throw as we grow up. "m", perhaps the most touching song on the album, is a journal of the end of a young girls life, advising us to all hold on to each second we are given. "Eve" chronicles the brave journey of one of AIDS first and youngest victimes, a child known simply as EVE. This album will touch your heart, and really cause a great deal of introspection, while at the same time arrousing the senses.

These guys keep moving up.......2001-01-11
These guys Jimmy, Lee and Spike from the UK (it must be something in the water over there) have put out another great album. This import from Japan is a great listen. They have good harmonies and a clear sound. The soungs cover all music types from the slow dance track BABY COME BACK TO ME to a windows down driving song like MOVING ON and HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO LOVE YOU to the urban sounding THAT'S THE WAY to the high energy dance track NEW GROOVE GENERATION to the motown sound of MAKE YOU MY BABY. And you get 3 bonus tracks which are different versions of other songs on the album. Keep it going guys. Everytime I see a new one out...I'm there
911 Moving On.......2000-02-04
I am the biggest 911 fan ever and i think that this album is the best one they have done to date! It is a must have for all pop lovers!
911 Is Moving On In Their Journey to Pop Stardom!.......1999-06-17
I got acquainted with 911 when they're in town for a mega concert featuring various artistes including Boyzone. The trio clearly stood out from the rest coz they danced and sang well. I loved the tunes they performed which were from The Journey. Moving On was released in Singapore a month later and I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it. The British lads didn't disappoint their fans...it IS a fantabulous album that's so groovy you find yourself playing it non-stop! Too bad Amazon doesn't have their 3rd album, There It Is, which was a compilation of cover versions of oldies from the 70's. This album even spawns the group's first No.1 hit A Little Bit More and the recently released Private Number. I'd say it's showcased the guys vocal talent for how many of us can do covers that take the charts by storm? All in all, 911 is MOVING ON...
Cool.......1999-04-24
It's a great album and I want to thank 911 for producing such good music. Thanks! Keep it up! You're simply the best!
deep, meanful songs that can make you realize reality.......1999-04-21
The songs on this cd calm you down if you feel like fighting, they can make you think about life and its place in yours.

Customer Reviews:
How this differs from the domestic release.......2001-09-27
Is it worth paying the extra money for the import? The extra disc with the remixes is pretty good. On the main CD, the 13th untitled bonus track is the same as the domestic release. The real gem here is the 14th (unlisted) track, which is on the Euro and Australian releases, but not the US - strange, because I think it's the best song on the album. It's the "Function" song, and it's hysterical. For me, it was worth the extra money for this one song alone.
NEO FUNK OF THE 90's.......1998-12-09
I'm 18 and I grew up listening to the old funk that my dad played around the house. Jamiroquai reminds me of some of the funk artist of the 70's. The cd is a good mixture of funk, rock, and soul. I love this cd it is on my top 10 favorite cd's of all time. So buy it...turn it up loud...and dance to it while you are doing chores around the house....I't's so funky you have your own personal party by yourself with this one!!!!
