Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Twisted Masterpiece.......2007-01-05

I love this album because it's so unpredictable. When it came out we saw Alice in short sucky hair and it was all just weird. The songs are different but Alice Good,if that makes sense. The lyrics were twisted and about outcasts and freaks: ie.Alice. Alice was going through some tough times but the music was of that generation. What else could Alice put out in a new wave infested generation,he survived man.

And thus Zipper Catches...a genius of an album.

3 out of 5 stars Alice's Most Fun Album.......2006-12-13

This one has to be Alice's most inconsistent albums. It's material ranges all over the place seemingly in search of a direction, but not really finding one. Cooper appears on the back cover with slicked back short hair, long sleeved dress shirt and a tie. A complete 360 from his para military character from his last incarnation on "Special Forces". This is another short one only being around 30 minutes long. Album sales were close to rock bottom by this time with the album not even charting. I did hear "I Like Girls" on my local AOR station a few times, but that was about it. Although it gets panned by a lot of Cooper heads, I like a lot of this disc. You get the feeling that Cooper is just having fun with a lot of this stuff, as much of the album is very light hearted and humorous. Highlights include "Zorro's Ascent" a song about Alice Cooper as Zorro. How he thought up this one I'll never know, but it is funny and cleaver. Three songs in the middle all run together "Adaptable", "I Like Girls", and "Remarkably Insincere". They are all short punchy rock songs with funny lyrics. "Tag You're It" sees Alice as a horror movie director.......or is he really a killer? This is a great song and harkens back to his "Welcome To My Nightmare" days. "It Better Be Good" is another short fun rocker. On the other side of the coin there is some pretty dreadful stuff on this album as well. "I Am The Future" sounds like it is from the cheesy movie soundtrack where it originated. "No Baloney Homosapiens" is, well just look at the title and you can pretty much guess. "I'm Alive" is another clunker that closes out the album. Alice did not even tour around this album and it came and went pretty quickly. Still, I like most of it and it is defiantly one of Cooper's most "fun" albums.

4 out of 5 stars Zipper catches Sack.......2006-10-01

This album has a lot of bad reviews. I dont think it's all that bad. In fact it's the best from early 80's Alice. It's got some comedy to it yes but it's very fun to listen to. I like Girls, Zorro's Accent, I Better Be Good, Make that Money and I'm Alive are great songs. The rest of the album needs some help and yes I will skip most of the other songs. This is a must for your total Alice Cooper Collection.

5 out of 5 stars Unavailable for years and now unavailable again.......2006-06-03

Words can not describe how much i love this record. Its hillarious. Cooper being a complete snot. Funny thing is you can play some of these songs to just about anybody(folks that would never ever listen to coop)and they like it..weird. Don't know where i was going with that, but if you love the Glen Buxton years, youll appreciate the campy vibe of this record. must have, if theres a critcal review of this record, they missed the point... deet de dee!

1 out of 5 stars it pretty much sucks...........2006-04-06

getting this album kind of hurt me and alice's relationship. over the last year or so i've enjoyed discovering his 70's albums like school's out and killer, and so i decided to check out his lesser known early 80's stuff. special forces is cool enough and flush the fashion is pretty solid. zipper catches skin is just too corny though (no to mention boring). i actually feel very nerdy and self conscious listening to it. it's hard to explain but it's an akward experience. though i do like "make that money" and "i am the future," they don't justify this albums existance.
