2 out of 5 stars Disappointed.......2007-05-04

Somehow I hoped for more. I really like the Jack Johnson albumns I own, and had hoped that a live performance with these other two musicians would impress. It did not. Don't waste your money or time.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome music.......2007-03-21

This CD is a great mix of music. Although a little short, the songs are great to jam to while riding in the car. I especially love the last track-the hidden one is so funny! Gotta check it out!

5 out of 5 stars Have to have it.......2007-01-31

If you really enjoy Jack and friends for what they are, and the way the music makes you feel...this is a MUST have. If you play(even just a little bit) GREAT CD to jam along with. Nothing fancy, just the roots of all that is good. To call yourself a Jack fan and not enjoy this, I guess you just don't get it .

2 out of 5 stars Jack's Worst.......2007-01-18

Being a fan of Jack Johnson, I thought this one would be as good as the others. I wasn't impressed at all. It sounds like a few guys pickin' around in the basement. The recording quality has very little production value. At best, these are okay live versions of usually great songs. This is an unnecessary piece for your Jack Johnson collection.

4 out of 5 stars Short and sweet.......2007-01-10

Excellent selection of some of the best from these three friends (and a little Zach Gill, too!). Gives you the feeling you're sneaking into a weekend jam session at Jack's house. Fans of these guys will want to add this CD to their library. Seems to me, though, they could have easily added a few more songs and make this a full length effort.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Happy Uptempo Song........2007-07-03

I could dance all night with this song. Pure Erasure. Get it if you have not own this one. Remixes are great.

5 out of 5 stars the beats keep goin'.......2007-06-12

Lots of value here. Great, upbeat and addictive song offered in various incarnations to satisfy your individual tastes. Erasure maintains their finger on the pulse of what sounds really good and keeps the feet tapping. They've quite simply mastered the art of the perfect electro-pop song, as evidenced by this savory morsel of a single.

5 out of 5 stars Great single!.......2007-05-12

I love the new song! The mixes are just as good, if not a little better than the album version. The album mix is pure classic Erasure stuff, and if you love Erasure you will be so glad! I am eagerly awaiting the new full length cd in May!

5 out of 5 stars They've Still Got It............2007-05-10

What can I say? "I Could Fall in Love With You" is the kind of giddy, up-beat, care-free music that caused me to fall in love with the music of Erasure 20 years ago. But the really cool part is that the technical quality of this new single is, as usual, slightly ahead of contemporary. Electronica has come along way since "Speak and Spell" and "Wonderland", and with the notable exception of "Loveboat", Vince has always been ahead of the rest. Furthermore, in my humble opinion, Andy's vocals have never been more energetic. I'm counting the days until I receive the complete album, and I'm looking forward to more remixes.

5 out of 5 stars Back and in the grrove.......2007-04-08

I love this new single.

It a return to form for the boys. I can't wait till the full album is released in May. And they're part of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors 2007" Tour this summer. Can it get any better?

4 out of 5 stars Very Good Single With A Fun Remix Version.......2007-01-06

This is a CD single of Toby Mac's hit song, 'Made To Love'. It also has an alternate 'Musical Mayhem Remix' of the same song.

The song is a very good rock-rap typical Toby Mac song. The other version sounds like 'Made To Love' on a double dose of caffeine. It is kind of a fun variation that fans will enjoy. I personally wouldn't want a steady diet of the alternatve type song, but it is definitely worth a listen.

5 out of 5 stars An EP that's made to love.......2007-01-01

Released the day after Christmas, this EP arrives basically on the eve of tobyMac's third full length release in February titled Portable Sounds. This EP contains two tracks, which are both of the same song Made To Love, which has received massive air play on stations such as Air1. Toby's first song Made To Love, is a radio friendly in the patern of Gone, from Welcome To Diverse City, his 2004 album. It's a good song basically with a straight forward message about obviously what we're made for. The 2nd track with where this $3 dollar EP comes into play and makes it worth owning. Track number two is once again the Made To Love single yet it is the Music Mayhem Remix. It's way upbeat and fast paced and really got me excited for what toby has coming next. The neatest thing about the remix is that it's got a new sound to it while if you listen close enough you'll recognize that toby borrowed some of the beat from an old Whitney Houston song, possible "How Will I Know." The only lacking in his EP is the fact that it's only just to tracks. Kind of a bummer when I've seen toby in years past put way more into an EP, such Paul Wright's Fly Away EP, which had 8 tracks, some exclusive then an funny outro with Pauly Paul and tobe. For it's price, this EP is definately worth adding to your toby collection. Thumbs up though!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great to hear some different versions!!!.......2007-06-29

I was excited to hear this after purchasing "Free as a Bird". As usual, the sound quality is above average, but some of the performances are not. Yellow Submarine's new sound-effects mix was too much, and it took away from the song itself. Here, There and Everywhere's new mix wasn't very good either, as it featured only a guide vocal by Paul for the instrumental takes, not a stronger vocal take. I understand that these are meant as a glimpse into the process of creating these masterpiece songs, but surely some better material could have been used.
On the plus side, "Baby's in Black" sounded fantastic, and makes me wish that all of the material from the Hollywood Bowl concerts would be reissued. Overall, not a bad disc. I guess Beatles fans should take what they can get since EMI and Capitol are still withholding some of the most prized Beatles recordings in their archives from CD release.

3 out of 5 stars For the diehard Beatles collector .......2006-12-21

I bought this CD single back when "Anthology 2" was new in the stores, and the CD single was available as an inexpensive domestic release. I don't know if it's worth the asking list price as an import unless you're a diehard Beatles collector.

The song "Real Love" is definitely one of Lennon's loveliest, and George, Paul, Ringo, and Jeff Lynne did a fine job of fleshing out the original demo into something that indeed sounds like an actual Beatles track. It's also available on "Anthology 2" and it's so good it almost makes you wish that the Beatles had given us more than two "new" songs in the late 1990s. The bonus tracks, however, are a mixed lot. There's a live version of "Baby in Black" from the Hollywood Bowl concerts which helps us to understand why the Beatles nixed plans for an official live album in the 60s, and why the late 1970s "Hollywood Bowl" LP has never been released on CD. It's awful. There's a remix of "Yellow Submarine" that has since been put to shame by the version on the "Songtrack." Finally, there's an alternate version of "Here, There, and Everywhere" that I truly wish had made it onto "Anthology 2" rather than being buried here. It's one of my favorite McCartney ballads.

So, if you're a tried-and-true collector, you're going to want this one. If you're not, you can get the best song here on "Anthology 2"

3 out of 5 stars Great song, but it ain't the Beatles.......2006-06-10

Even given the tragic circumstances that prevented a full-fledged reunion of the Beatles for the "Anthology" mini-series of the mid-Nineties, "Real Love" is, in the end, no more a BEATLES song than was "(Just Like)Starting Over" for example. Except for George Harrison's definitive slide guitar breaks, this is John Lennon's showcase through and through. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr might well have participated in this recording, but you'd never know it from listening. This isn't to say that it's a bad song...on the contrary, it's as good a Lennon paeon to love as he ever wrote in the late Seventies. But that's the point, really. Never mind that this wasn't the John Lennon who had written "Tomorrow Never Knows" or "Strawberry Fields Forever;" he wasn't even the guy who had written "This Boy," "If I Fell" or "Yes It Is," to name just a few of his love songs from the pre-Pepper days. For better or worse, John Lennon had simplified his songwriting craft considerably by the time of his death, and "Real Love" is planted firmly in that place in time, a time that was long past that of the Beatles. The question that will never be answered, of course, is, would he have made the same changes in his songwriting if there had still been a Beatles after 1970? We'll never know.

The other three songs on this CD are fine if minor inclusions, with "Baby's In Black" particularly standing out as a slice of life from the Beatles USA touring days in 1965.

4 out of 5 stars Great Song.......2005-02-26

In 1995, the Beatles began working on their "Anthology" project, and I believe this CD serves as a good preview to the set. You get the newly recorded song, "Real Love," and outtakes plus a live version of "Baby's in Black" from the 1965 Hollywood Bowl concert (which, I might add, was not released on the 1977 Hollywood Bowl record, so it is truly unreleased.) I now own this single on CD and vinyl, just because I love the Beatles. "Real Love" is one of John's best songs ever.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent single.......2004-03-24

In 1995 and 1996, The Beatles Anthology set was released. This was a six disc set (three volumes of two discs), and it featured a plethora of rare tracks. Among the tracks on the sets were two old John Lennon demos which the remaining members of the band got together to finish - Free as a Bird and Real Love. Read on for my review of the former single.

The title track here is John Lennon as you knew and loved him. It's just a shame this little rarity didn't surface earlier! But, the surviving band members' new touches to the song make it nothing short of excellent. In my opinion, this song is superior to Free as a Bird, the other "newly finished" John Lennon demo. Furthermore, the single includes some rare B-Sides! First and foremost, you get early demos of the classics Yellow Submarine and Here There and Everywhere. You even get an excellent live version of the underrated masterpiece Baby's in Black, recorded at the Hollywood Bowl!

The Free as a Bird and Real Love singles have been discontinued in America, but if you're a Beatle maniac, I recommend hunting them down, as the rare tracks make them a worthwhile purchase.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite Timberlake song.......2007-05-28

I'm not usually a Timberlake fan, but this track really caught my attention. This disc has a handful of remixes of the track. My favorite is the Paul Oakenfold Radio Edit (track 2), which was the first version I heard (on XM). However, there is something to like about each version.

Amazon indicates the disc includes a video. If so, I haven't watched it.

All in all, a catchy dance tune!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars My favorite Bjork song.......2005-05-28

This is my all-time favorite Bjork song and the single just captures the essence of the song perfectly in so many different ways. I love every track on this single. I have bought Bjork singles in the past and have been less than impressed. She can be a little too artsy some times and her singles are very hit or miss with me. This single isn't too over the top for me though. It's sweet, melancholy, and enduring. The video is just absolutely awesome too. Very creative.

5 out of 5 stars Bjork's Absolute Best.......2004-12-24

When I initially bought Bjork's Greatest Hits album, I listened to "Big Time Sensuality" over and over again. I finally decided I would listen to the other songs, and I was completely stunned upon hearing the first track. The video version of "All Is Full of Love" blew me away, and I found myself repeating it.

This is (in my opinion) Bjork's best song, hands down. Vocally, she has sounded better. But there's an innocence, honesty and loveliness about this song that you just can't ignore. It's inspiring, transcending and bright, and it portrays the newness of a spring day perfectly. There is indeed love all around you; you just have to open up your eyes to see it. Every version of the tune offers the listener a new mood.

Video Version: First, I just have to be honest and say this is the most sensual song I have ever heard. The sugary warm chords, the magical sitar, Bjork's longing vocals and the persistent drums take you on an emotional ride. A clarinet, playing simple arpeggios, adds a hint of optimism and playfulness. For music lovers this will undoubtedly give you goosebumps: it's that moving. I always think of kisses and hugs listening to this. It just makes you feel warm and fuzzy about everything. 6/5

Funkstorung Exclusive Mix: While I enjoy the syncopated drums and beats in this tune, I was disappointed that the chorus and verses are not heard intact here. Her vocals are edited, warped and mixed up to produce random vocal patterns. Though it's a very interesting and sometimes fun remix, I began to tire of it after the first two minutes. However, it is a charming version with light harp melodies and occasional wispy chords. 4/5

Strings: This is the same recording as the Video Version, however the strings are greatly amplified. This mix effectively adds more impact to the instrumentation of this song, without drowning out Bjork's vocals. Combined with the original emotion produced in the Video Version, the strings make this a tearjerker. It's even more longing and simply divine. 6/5

Album Version: The quietest of the mixes here, I have always adored this version. A gentle pulsing electronic bass beat continues through the song, as heavenly sweeping chords and the original sitar arrangement sparkle. There is no percussion to be heard here, but it produces a wonderfully enchanting effect. On the album "Homogenic", this song appears after the harsh dance track "Pluto", and it's soothing to the ears. It truly sounds like the flowers gently pushing through the last of the winter snow. 6/5

Plaid Mix: Everything about this version is sparkly and magnetic. Opening with tender echoes and clarinets, I assumed this was going to be a subdued mix. I was pleasantly surprised as this mix gently moved from soothing to emotionally soaring in the chorus. And don't judge by the audio preview of this version: it doesn't do the song justice. The beat is very stripped and simple, but the carefully arranged instruments in this version are what truly shine. I would have loved to hear Bjork's vocals echo here, but they're beautiful just as they are. 6/5

Guy Sigsworth Mix: This is the perfect conclusion for such a divine single. A combination of fluttering saxophones opens this number, and carry peacefully throughout. There's a higher level of emotion here; perhaps it's because the saxophones themselves sound as if they're longing for happiness. I can't really describe it, but it truly casts a spell. The instrumental depth is fantastic here; it's very deep and moving. The beat (not as strong as the Video Version) is just intense enough to be effective. This version feels a little more structured vocally: Bjork's vocals are split apart to create a second verse. The surprise ending in this song somehow works: it leaves much to be desired, but you really feel like Bjork couldn't top herself anymore. 6/5

Also included on this single is the infamous video, which is artistic, innovative and impressive. This is well worth the money, and I highly recommend it, especially if you adore Bjork such as I do.

"You'll be given love; you have to trust it."

5 out of 5 stars Twist Your Head Around...It's All Around You...........2004-05-11

Honestly, I'm no big fan of Bjork...But there is something about this song...I don't think there's a true way to describe it, it is one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard.

In the same genre; songs like-

Evanescence's - ''Hello''
Dido's - ''My Life''
Annie Lennox's - ''No More I Love You's''
Massive Attack's (Tracy Thorn's) - ''Better Things''
Cher's - ''You Take It All''
Madonna's - ''Power Of Goodbye''
Delerium's (Sarah McLachlan's) - ''Silence''

Those tracks are 7 of the most haunting songs I've heard, but Bjork's ''All Is Full Of Love'' beats them down, her voice is so beautiful that it sounds a bit unnerving and gives you the chills. The Video Version is the one I like the most, while the Strings has the same sense of term just slightly enhanced, they're both downright trip-hop tracks, which proves that Massive Attack's influence over the Icelandic Phenomena (Bjork) is flawless.

Funkstorung's mix is definitely the most unlistenable mix I've ever come across throughout the history of music.

The Album version, is however more laid back and very brooding. Note: this is for more serious listeners.

While the real treat comes from the (Plaid Mix), a optimistic and upbeat trip-hop influenced track. This is my second favorite after the video version. And The Sigsworth mix, is equally enjoyable, it however gives the CD a nice boost.

Then you get a video, which is very cool I think, one of my favorite videos ever, it features two robot's, both of which are her...and it gets even better, not the kind of video kids should watch, not like it's anything really heavy- just I wouldn't think it's suitable for children, it's very confusing at first, but you have to watch it at least 3 times to understand the concept of it, which goes clearly with the lyrics of the song.

Bjork definitely hit her best chapter with this song...

5 out of 5 stars A great remix collection for a true masterpiece.......2003-11-27

This single, the 5th from Bjork's gold-selling album Homogenic, is one of her best releases to date. The song is utterly amazing, climaxing to such a height by the middle of the song. The single is also great as it provides some very enhancing remixes of the song.
1 (Video Version) This was actually the original version of the song, however it was remixed by Howie B. for the album so that it would be a calm, atmospheric end to Homogenic after the volcanic heights reached by the preceding track Pluto. I like this version as a standalone track better. It enhances the song properly and creates a truly unique Bjork single blending a strong message with an even stronger voice in a simple song structure. (10/10)
2 (Funkstorung Exclusive Mix) This mix is very strange and kind of mismatched, but nonetheless provides an enjoyable alternative to the original version. It mixes up the vocals and sets them to a robotic, bouncy beat. (8/10)
3 (Strings) Basically the video version with added string sections. It is a nice version, as the strings are a really beautiful addition to Bjork's voice. It is the studio version closest to the one she performs live. However, it does NOT change the song-only enhances it. (10/10)
4 (Album Version) The toned down original mix of the song. It works best in the context of the album Homogenic and definitely does not stand alone as a single. However, it is very atmospheric and lovely all the same. (10/10)
5 (Plaid Mix) This mix makes the entire single. It changes the background beats of the song, making it more electronic and bringing it to a whole other level of artistry. This is undoubtedly one of Bjork's best remixes. (10/10)
6 (Guy Sigsworth Mix) Also a great remix, but lacking some of the climax of the Plaid mix. (9/10)
The music video of the song, also on the cd, is truly remarkable and perfectly illustrates the song. Maybe check it out on bjork.com or on one of her compilation dvds, but don't miss out on this award-winning clip.

5 out of 5 stars ¢¾~♫~¢¾.......2003-02-23

This is one of the most strikingly, disarmingly true messages to come out in music for a long time, on this scale.
The remixes will have your brain soaring through the landscapes of the universe, oneness, and love.
It's an amazing single, with an amazing video, that will provide you with an amazing, 4 dimensionally techno experince.
No words can properly define it.

4 out of 5 stars Worthy of Faith No More fans..........2005-04-20

Angel Dust is compelling, The Real Thing is funk and We Care A Lot is classic...this is just weird, and funny. Mike Patton has a real knack for sound, and this CD is a fine little EP well worth the 6 or 7 dollars you are going to pay for it.

Patton and company do a fine rendition of Easy, and Patton shows of his range of dynamics yet again. For those of you looking for something a little more streamlined, or for those of you who think that Patton can't do anything besides making weird noises, you will be well advised to check this EP out.

Das Schutzenfest is a fine polka-styled song sung in German. Midnight Cowboy is straight from the band's epic masterpiece Angel Dust, and Let's Lynch the Landlord is probably the most entertaining Dead Kennedy's cover out there.

And, to top it all off, the whole EP has a really novel feel to it..from the CDs outrageous cover art, to its humorous title, this is an EP that any fan of Patton or Faith No More should be proud to own. If not for it's novelty, do it for Easy and Let's Lynch the Landlord.

5/5 as an EP.
4/5 as a piece of music I'd consider purchasing.

3 out of 5 stars Goofy, but entertaining........2003-09-09

This is pretty much exactly what a cd with a postcard-like picture of rhinos humping in the sunset should sound like: Strange. Funny... Dare I say, sexy? Ok, not sexy. What we get here is the band's gloriously straight rendition of The Commodores' "Easy", which proves once and for all that if the whole Ipecac/being in 20 million different bands thing doesn't work out, Mike Patton could have a viable carreer singing on showboats and casinos with that smooth croon of his, an oddly hillarious Elvis-ified rendition of The Dead Kennedy's "Let's Lynch The Landlord", the well-performed version of the "Midnight Cowboy" theme already available on Angeldust, and "Das Shutzenfest", a bizarre stab at german-language polka that actually turns out to be about meeting a woman at a shooting festival and making love near the pig trough. It's probably not worth your money if you have the version of Angeldust with "Easy" as a bonus track and the Virus 100 Dead Kennedys tribute, since you then own 3/4 of the EP, but if this isn't the case, it's at least worth considering for "Easy" itself.

4 out of 5 stars Even better than the original!.......2002-12-08

It pains me to say it, being as how I love DK, but the hipster tune just seems to fit!
The rest of this single, I would reccomend, but 'Let's Lynch the Landlord', I'm sorry to the Dead Kennedy's, but this's how it was meant to be done!

5 out of 5 stars Faith No More getting culture!.......2001-11-29

Fisrt song is the cover "Easy". Two other songs are a german folk-pop dance, singing in german. and a Elvis Pressly imitation
rock song. Last the cover "midnight cowboy", an instrumental.
A sure classic album!

5 out of 5 stars Faith No More getting culture........2001-11-29

One song is "Easy", great cover! The other two are dfferent. One is a german folk-popdance, sung in german. And the other is an imitation of an elvis pressly rock song. The last song is an instrumental song called "midnight cowboy". It's worth having for the other two unamed song's. A Faith No More classic!
