About the Artist
Passion, desire, dedication and high energy all can describe the performance I witnessed on a cold winter night in late December. The band was originally conceived by two small town boys from Masontown, West Virginia. Vocalist, Michael Ray and guitarist Dellis Dalton remember the day they decided to start a band. "We couldn't even play instruments, we just thought free beer and chicks sounds good. Let's start a band."
The boys went through an uncountable number of musicians in hopes of finding members with the same die-hard dedication. "It seemed that finding people that wanted the same dream as us turned out harder than we ever imagined," says Michael Ray.
Through a mutual friend of the band, bassist, Kenny James, was introduced at a late night rehearsal. Kenny recalls, "Dellis was playing guitar like those rock stars I grew up loving and Michael was just spilling out vocals like nobody's business. That was the attitude I was looking for."
In early '99, in walked drummer, Kevin Lee. "That completed the circle. Madhouse was born," says Kenny James. The band began grueling nonstop rehearsals. Kevin Lee recalls, "We busted our asses every night writing and rehearsing and really just making sure each song was perfect."
Just like any family, hard times come easy. "Wall after wall would rise and time after time we would climb them," says Michael Ray. But, through all the hard times came a stronger more determined machine whose view on the big picture is more clear than ever.
The band is just now starting more chapters in their lives. When it's all said and done, I'm sure they will have enough to write a few books about their life as a band.
After hearing and meeting these four guys who will stop at nothing until their dream is reality, I can quote this, "They are going to the top and hopefully taking me with them," replies Big Rod.

Product Description
First there was Hendrix. Nirvana followed decades later. Now, in the new millennium, Seattle has spawned its latest rock sensation. OK ... at least they're from Seattle. With the tumultuous force of Mt. Rainier, Stay Tuned has erupted onto this town's storied music scene, igniting venues throughout the Pacific Northwest with virtuoso keytar riffs, nostalgic lyricism and wicked cool hair. When the band appeared on The BJ Shea Experience on KQBZ in Seattle, Ian "Prime Time" Sterling declared, "If you get enough (Jaegermeister) shots down ya ... this would be the best band you've ever heard." Far from your average tribute band, Stay Tuned is one of music's most unique acts, taking television theme songs and "recontextualizing" them into scorching rock 'n' roll anthems. Where some see nothing in television but a vast wasteland, Stay Tuned finds vast inspiration. The self-proclaimed "Ultimate Television Rock Experience" has taken 12 audience favorite songs to create "This is Only a Test." "This is Only a Test" features TV themes familiar to millions including "Happy Days," "Rawhide" and "The Jeffersons" in completely new and original arrangements. Produced by Stay Tuned and Brin Addison (whose previous producing credits include artists Chris Cornell, the Smashing Pumpkins, Smashmouth, and The Indigo Girls), the album brings all the excitement and energy of the band's live stage shows home in a masterfully crafted CD. Comprised of Matt Krahlman (keyboards, lead vocals), Randy Williams (bass) and Fred Donaldson (drums), Stay Tuned formed 3 years ago with the goal of bringing something unique to the local music scene. Inspired in part by Seattle's own Presidents of the United States of America, the band puts on a rockingly entertaining live show where everyone in the audience knows the lyrics and gets into the act. Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? Well it's Stay Tuned, and you should know it (apologies to fans of the Mary Tyler Moore show).
Customer Reviews:
This CD rocks me like only a hurri-can.......2005-10-14
I've listened to the best from over the years.. The Beatles. Jimi Hendrix. Led Zepplin. David Hasselhoff. But this CD is overflowing - brimming if you will - with epic rock versions of TV Show Themes and is destined to be hailed as one of the most important CD's of the 21st Century. Okay.. I might be overstating things a bit here. But the CD is awesome.
Being a huge fan of sitcoms of the 80's growing up and becoming familiar with the classics on Nick at Nite, this album feeds an unexplainable thirst inside my twisted skull to relive those moments I spent sitting dumbfounded and dumb in front of the "boob tube". TV Theme Songs are sort of a lost art nowadays. Today's TV Shows, with few exceptions, simply don't have the same artistry that the songs of the 60's - 80's had. And I'm glad to see a band, filled with three strapping, talented young men I might add, taking those memorable tunes and bringing them to a whole new generation. Moreover, they really make the material their own.
"Silver Spoons" and "Charles in Charge" really get me going, "Happy Days" cools me down and "The Jeffersons" and "F-Troop" make me want to punch through the top of my car when I'm driving around with "This Is Only A Test" cranked. Being a keyboardist myself, I really dig the vintage keyboard sounds and wicked keytar riffs of Matt Krahlman. If I didn't know better, I would've thought it was a guitar. But it isn't. And rarely do I know anything better or, really, anything at all. Stay Tuned has a mean vintage sound - similar to Deep Purple really - combined with a modern alternative rock edge. Hard to describe but really great, rockin' tuneage.
The CD really captures the live energy of Stay Tuned that I've seen in their shows and I'm really glad I could support them. If you're a fan of television, television themes, keytars or, really, just something different, buy this CD.

Customer Reviews:
Slightly disappointing..........2006-11-29
Don't get me wrong, I love the first Bibio album, Fi. This one also has some nice moments and he has become more ambitious as far as his guitar playing and layering of melodies. The problem that I have is that every song seems to follow the same exact format, bringing in similar guitar parts at the same intervals song after song. Really no memorable melodies that stick with you. I was really looking forward to this after the original sound established on the first album as well, maybe I just set my expectations too high...
Pastoral Brilliance.......2006-09-30
Bibio's followup to their equally excellant debut Fi this year has been more than most impressive. Bibio stands apart from any kind of folk-psych stuff ine could name mostly because Bibio sounds so entirely different from anything else in the genre. Using hand made intruments, baryard equiptment, & whatever else, Bibio combines these most unlikely primary sources and summons forth from them the feeling of living in a pastoral painting that the british progger Caravan might have taken residence in back in their earlier days. These composistions are always having at least 5 touches of sounds in motion, curling, & interacting with everything else in a almost Philip Glass-esque way, but of course again with sounds unlike anyone but Bibio can make. These are the breezes, rustlings, weavings of grassy plains, and sighs of invisible gnomes of an English countryside you've always seen but never heard. As such as well with such uniqueness, the production owes its roots not in the polish of say Yes or Steely Dan, but also neither the treble-busting lo-fi aesthetics of something like Darkthrone or Nuit Noire. Put more simpy, this is diy production but still done aptly enough for one to detect each little stir/melody that Bibio creates and never jarring enough to ever prevent one from just being carried off to sweet netherlands of sleep while listening to it.
Somebody get Bibio some proper equipment.......2006-07-22
Bibio's guitar playing is adequate, but any listening pleasure one might derive from that is ruined by the extremly bad recording quality. In this day and age of cheap digital recording equipment it's unbelievable that somebody produces a *whole album* that sounds as if it has been registered on a dictaphone with a worn-out tape. Sure, it's a fun sound effect, if used sparingly and with a certain purpose in mind. Track after track of guitar noodlings with scratchy highs and missing lows really starts to grate on both my ear drums and my musical sensibility though.
Maybe I am just not "avant garde" enough to get the subtlety of Bibio's approach. I rather suspect though that Bibio's is having a major laugh that people actually take his pseudo-folky recorded-in-one-day stuff seriously.
