I was moved by this CD. If you like his unique and unusual voice, you will get a good dose of it here (I like it). I think if you were into Fine Young Cannibals back in the day, then you may like this recording too, though this one is far more reflective and personal.

Yes i have to say that Roland Gift is just excellent with his solo tracks much more realistic than his group fine young canibals.I am very sure Roland would be proud of this and what i suggest Roland if you are reading this please realease a DVD edition for your fans worldwide .I would give this realease 5 stars and also to the seller from ebay who sold this to me .thank you

I did not know who Hayley Westenra was until I saw her performing on PBS. She has a really beautiful voice. This cd is a Christmas cd that she has recorded. Some songs are traditional Christmas songs and others are inspirational tunes. I recommend it.

Hayley Westenra is the best. I thought this would be Valentines Day music or the like, but it is more like simulated Christmas / religious. The title does say "gift", but when I read the description before buying I did not think Christmas music.

Celtic Woman is probably the best kept secret in the music world. I caught their show on our KCPT public television station and thought it was the best show they have ever aired. I have told my friend about Celtic Woman and they rave about them also. My favorite of all of the girls is Haley Westenra, but all of them are super and can stand alone on their individual talent. I can't say enough about the violin playing girl on the dvd, she is remarkable and mezmorizing to say the least. If you appreciate good quality entertainment, you can't miss with a purchase of Celtic Woman.

              Petula always had an image problem in the UK, having originally been a child actress, and having recorded several lightweight records while in her teens and early tewnties. She moved to France to be able to record the kind of music she wanted to. Downtown and the songs that followed gained her a pop following, but it didn't completely wipe out the past. And of all Petula's early recordings, none explain her image problem better than the four tracks in this package.

              Originally, two singles were released, at least one of which was for Dr Barnado's Homes charity, but in Australia they were released in a gatefold sleeve containing both singles. This package has been impeccably reproduced for the modern age, with a gatefold sleeve card case containing two CD's, each containing two tracks. The re-mastering is superb, showing a young Petula (about 20 years old) in fine voice.

              The problem is the songs themselves. I do occasionally listen to children's music, but I like to find music that is done with adults in mind. The music on these tracks is aimed squarely at children. I will listen to this occasionally only because the singer is Petula.

              If you are a truly committed Petula fan, you will buy this anyway, just as I did. Otherwise, there is no point. If you are looking for children's music, you only get four songs here, so you'd be better to look elsewhere. Leadbelly, Tom T Hall, Pete Seeger and Peter, Paul and Mary have all recorded excellent children's albums with many more songs.

              I'd give this one star, but the packaging and re-mastering earns it a second.
