The music for this third chapter in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is a traditional, efficient action score that, due to the film's setting, occasionally incorporates light Asian touches. The popularity of Hans "Long John" Zimmer (all the credits in the CD's liner notes include pirate-themed nicknames, like the roll call in a Simpsons Halloween episode) isn't in doubt--he sure is one in-demand composer--but afficionados are divided about his artistic worth, and this score isn't about to reconcile them. Some think that Zimmer relies too much on his stable of composers and sticks to tried-and-true recipes; others admire his capacity to weave themes in and out of cues, creating a whole made of subtly interrelated parts. At World's End feeds both camps: Seven of his collaborators are credited with writing "additional music," and the album feels by-the-numbers at times; but those inclined to listen very closely will be rewarded by the way Zimmer sneaks in bits of two main melodies (especially variations on the first track, a pirate theme titled "Hoist the Colours" and cowritten by director Gore Verbinski) throughout. The use of electronics is so light as to be almost undetectable, which will please fans of a more organic orchestral sound. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

5 out of 5 stars Beyond words.......2007-07-09

I can't even explain how I feel about the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks, especially the third disc. I can't imagine how someone can be so talented to be able to connect you to the story through this music, I just really can't understand. "At Wit's End" is definitely a masterpiece, however every single song on this disc, along with all the others are absolutely outstanding. I love soundtracks, but I am aware of Hans's talent, and knowing he was one of the composers of these tracks I knew it would be a win win situation, and I knew I was not to be disappointed. I have never caught myself listening to a soundtrack..over and over.....and over again. Literally, I even watch the movies over and over so that I can listen to the soundtracks on it. Amazing stuff, just like I said, BEYOND WORDS!!

4 out of 5 stars Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.......2007-07-07

The 1st Pirates cd is my all time favorite, however I really enjoy this cd also. I've put all three cd's on MP3 and listen to them when I need a lift in spirits.

4 out of 5 stars The best of the three?.......2007-07-03

I love this CD, in my opinion it is the best of the three movies and it certainly benefits from the full orchestral treatment.

I have no knowledge of musical theory but very much enjoy the way that the differing themes appear throughout the soundtrack and how, when they are played on varying instruments and to changed tempos, they present such different feelings. It is also fun to be able to recognise themes that have appeared in the soundtracks for the first and second movies.

If you are a fan of movie soundtracks I would definitely recommend Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Zimmer!.......2007-07-03

Once again Hans Zimmer proves that he is good at his job. He has the talent to make the music both sad and enjoyable at the same, and all the songs have their own amazing sound. If you liked POTC score 1 and 2, you will definetly love this album! And Zimmer fans, like myself, will not be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars Zimmer's greatest work to date!.......2007-06-30

I must say that the score may actually be better than the movie itself! Not to bash the movie, I did enjoy it immensely- but the Score is just unbelievably amazing!

Unlike many other franchsie scores, by the third and fourth part the score can become a little boring and redudnent, "At World's End" not only keeps up with tradition and has a sound that ramins true to the other two scores, but it has enough to make it completely original and fresh.

The score is amazing at evoking emotions from the listener, I heard the score prior to watching the film, and had an amazing understanding of the emotional content from this score.

"Hoist the Colors" not only starts out the soundtrack and the film, but it sets the mood and story for the film, and the theme reoccuers throughout the score.

"At Wit's End" is hauntingly beautiful and evokes a sense of mystery and sadness. "Calypso" is an amazing piece that grows from a mysterious haunting melody to a ferocious and rolling score complete with a choir that grows ever larger (which is PERFECT for the scene)

My personal favorite pieces are "What Shall We Die For" and "I Don't Think Now is the Best Time". The tracks are all part of one scene. "What Shall We Die For" is almost inspirational and has an amzing "uplifting" quality to it and the track grows bigger and larger and is just phenomonal. But the artistry of Zimmer and the Pirates score really comes to fruition in the second half of "I Don't think Now is the best Time" That's almost a ballet of a score that flows from Action mcvie score to romance- it's also one of the more memorable scenes in the film. The score has a multi-genre feel to it with the score running through Romace film, to western, Action picture and everything in between!

As scores go, "At World's End" really runs the gambit, from quiet and tragic, to desperation, to scary, to Soft and emotional, to hard driving action, to "Drink Up Me Hearties" that is almost impossible to listen to and NOT picture our Hero, Jack Sparrow, as it rolls into the unforgettable theme in true epic style.

My only problem with this score (as with the others in this series) is that at a running time of just under an hour, you do wonder where the other 2 hours of score are!

It doesn't quite have the Rock sound that 'Dead Man's Chest" had, but it really holds it's own as an unforgettable and amazing piece of work that really captures the spirit of "The Pirates of the Caribbean" and rounds out the trilogy quite nicely

Loosely based on the popular Disney theme park audio-animatronic ride, one might expect a modicum of good-natured "Yo-ho-ho-ing"--or maybe a little rousing Korngold/Errol Flynn/Captain Blood orchestral romanticism--here. Instead composer Klaus Badelt initially entices us with some sparing Celtic folk charm, then unleashes a furious broadside of symphonic and choral thunder to rival his ominous score for K-19. The composer's fellow German mentor is an obvious influence throughout (the album is credited with a wink as "Score overproduced by Hans 'Long John' Zimmer") but Badelt brings his own muscular instincts to bear throughout. Perhaps shrewdly realizing that genre cliches are nothing if not for reinventing, Badelt delivers his rhythmically nervous Eurocentric sensibilities--sort of Holst duels Shostakovich on the Spanish Main--with the subtlety of a scorching cannonball. It's seasoned with a little romantic respite in the final act, if a bit gingerly, and could no doubt profit by some of Korngold's sparkling melodic verve. But it's a loud, unabashed Summer Blockbuster score at heart; alert the neighbors. --Jerry McCulley

5 out of 5 stars yes, all true, but the sound!!!.......2007-06-28

I agree with the other reviewers about the music, which is fine, but also want to point out that this is a terrific work-out for sound systems with REAL sub woofers (not the scrawny boxes that say they are, but aren't). If you have a room shaker system, down to like 15 Hz, this is for you. The deepest and most sustained bass I have ever heard.

Secret - listen for hints of Gladiator and Mission Imossible. He helped with those films - maybe they are little inside jokes?

I'm not a huge fan of classical music, but many of the songs in this soundtrack melted my heart. :) Some were not *that* good, but some were just very incredible, which makes it worth five stars !

The soundtrack for the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie was infamous for having been whipped up rather hastily. For the sequel, Hans Zimmer takes the reins and comes up with his best effort in ages. Things start off with a nice cello theme for Johnny Depp's character, "Jack Sparrow." After that, it's high gear all the way, beginning with "The Kraken," on which Zimmer unleashes gales of symphonic aggro. Even when he closely follows what Hollywood execs clearly believe are set-in-stone rules for contemporary soundtracks, he throws in interesting wrenches. He does cram in both wailing female vocals and stomping percussion in "Dinner Is Served," but then the track abruptly turns into the kind of demented waltz you usually get from Danny Elfman. As usual with sequels, winks to the first movie pop in and out--the Black Pearl theme reappears in "I've Got My Eye on You" and "Hello Beastie"--but overall this album is more consistent. At least until you get to the final track, that is, a pounding offering by melodic-trance overlord DJ Tiësto. Pirates, wave your arms in the air like you just don't care. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Album Description

Captain Jack Sparrow is back for more action and adventure on the high seas! Once again thrown into the world of the supernatural, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds out that he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones (Bill Nighy), captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. And as if this weren't enough, the captain's problems manage to wreck the wedding plans of a certain Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightly), who are forced to join Jack on yet another misadventure.

Soundtrack features original score by Hans Zimmer plus a bonus remix track by the world-renowned DJ Tiesto.

3 out of 5 stars Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.......2007-07-07

Of the 3 Pirates cd's this is my least favorite, the first being my favorite because of the rousing music, this is good, but not great. Not quite as good as the PotC At World's End. However, to get the full impact of Pirates, I recommend that you get all three cd's.

5 out of 5 stars The movie would be incomplete without it!.......2007-06-03

Although the soundtrack is always key to the movie, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies seem be the quintessential example of this rule. The soundtrack is a brilliant work of art the perfectly compliments the action and romance of the movie.

4 out of 5 stars Enchanting, captivating.......2007-05-27

This was a very enjoyable and captivating cd. Has a few diverse moods. My two young daughters love it.

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original too much percussion & distraction.......2007-05-26

I was really looking forward to the score for Dead Man's Chest, particularly when I found out that Hans Zimmer would be writing it. I really like much of his work, however, I was ultimately disappointed with this cd. There was too much percussion, too much elecronics & too little music from the movie in it. I also saw little point in the final track on the cd, I would much rather have had the end credit music. I liked Jack's new theme, it fit him & while the themes for JOnes & the Dutchmen fit them well, I still found this cd lacking. I admit however I really enjoyed the Tortuga music.

5 out of 5 stars great music.......2007-05-16

I'm a huge Hans Zimmer fan, great listening music, lots of energy to it. I buy most of what he's composed. While Gladiator is my top favorite, Dead Man's Chest is great, too.

Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski hatched the idea for Rogue's Gallery while filming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"--that idea being to cast genteel rock superstars like Bono, Lou Reed, Bryan Ferry, Andre Corr, and Sting to reinterpret gritty seafaring standards for an exhaustive 43-track double-disc set produced by Hal Wilner. Throw in a bunch of credible folk stars (Loudon Wainwright III, Richard Thompson), their offspring (Rufus, Teddy) and a string of other curious characters (Jarvis Cocker, Antony) and what results is one of the strangest compilations in recent memory, if not exactly the most historically authentic or, well, digestible. Nick Cave embraces the role just a little too hard on "Fire Down Below," while Ferry can't help but sound like he's singing for the cast of "The Love Boat," but cut through the chaff and there is some real bootie here: Bono's "Dying Sailor to His Shipmates," Jolie Holland's "The Grey Funnel Line" and "Boney" by a mysterious tramp called Jack Sh**, which must be some kind of anagram for Johnny Depp. --Aidin Vaziri

Album Description

While working on the two "Pirates Of The Carribean" films, Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski became fascinated with the lore and fable of the pirates and sailors who ran the high seas. Enter legendary producer Hal Wilner, who brings his knack for matching maverick musicians with extraordinary material. Artists on this double disc set include Bono, Sting, Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, Lou Reed, Richard Thompson, Lucinda Williams, Jarvis Cocker of Pulp, and many more. "Rogue's Gallery" offers a look at the hardships, the horrors, the lusts and lurid depths, and the crystal beauty that led men to the sea in ships for hundreds of years.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Fun--but not great.......2007-07-03

What a concept--a pirate song co-produced by Verbinski and Depp inspired by the "Pirates of the Carribean" series. It should be great and in places, it is. The big question I came away with is--who is Jack Sh**? That one definitely has me guessing.

I won't belabor the song content or the production value. I think the most notable reviews have got that down pat, although I'm not marking down as far as they have because I'm giving points for originality being a fan of Spike Jones and some other truly demented people.

One thing to note: this is not a CD you'd buy if you were looking for something to amuse your kids. Some of the content is very bawdy and Mom and Dad would have some serious 'splaining to do to the little pirates. There's both some language and some situations that are more twisted than a Hangman's knot.

3 out of 5 stars aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh!.......2007-06-09

Some of the songs are quite good(mellow)others a little odd. Its what I expected, but not what you would expect.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointment would be an understatement.......2007-06-04

It is not unusual to find sea shanties performed by not the greatest musicians or singers in the world. It is not unusual to find shanties sung by people who have difficulty keeping perfect pitch, or tempo. But at least they understand what the music is about, and sing it with heart and enthusiasm and a love for the genre.

Hal Wilner should stick to whatever genre it is that made him know enough to be approached by labels, because he clearly has no understanding, and less enthusiasm for *this* genre.

If you love lively music from the maritime era, you can only be bitterly disappointed by this collection. Out of 43 tracks, I found 15 that were salvageable. Sort of.

I've already tossed this onto the pile to go to the resale shop. It wasn't worthy the cost of shipping.

2 out of 5 stars Zzz..........2007-04-04

I have to admit that I have no idea what kinds of music the pirates sang aboard their ships. I know it probably wasn't "yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me," but I expected something different than this. I think my expectations have been colored by groups like The Pogues, Flogging Molly, The Tossers, and the Real McKenzies. I have an annual Pirate Party and I was hoping to find some good music here to get people in the mood for a treasure hunt or pirate liar's dice, but instead, the music on this CD is something I'd put on if the party went on too long and I wanted to encourage people to leave. Some of it is actually awful and the rest is too slow and plodding to inject much energy into any situation.

I appreciate what was attempted here (contemporary artists paying homage to sea chanteys in the spirit of our romanticized version of the pirate era) but it just doesn't really work. The effect is similar to what would be achieved if the London Philharmonic Orchestra attempted to play rap "music" with Luciano Pavarotti rhymin' while flashing gang signs.

1 out of 5 stars another set of hopes are smashed.......2007-03-29

the selection of titles attracted me. The quality of the arrangements, the voices, and the music---are all quite bad.

It is VERY sad that these same titles, could not have been produced for quality. They sound like a nightmare.

By the looks of the cartoony cover art, Disney's Swashbuckling Sea Songs is meant to be a consolation prize for kid brothers and sisters who couldn't convince their parents they'd come away from "Pirates of the Caribbean" (name your installment) without developing nightmares. That's not to say that bigger kids won't whistle yo-ho-ho merrily after a casual listen, too: salty classics like "Blow the Man Down" set the mood for a plastic sword fight in the basement; "Pirates of the Black Tide" and "Stowaway" deliver mutinous tales made mild by friendly-sounding flutes and fiddles; "The Pirate King" sallies forth with regal, dramatic flair; and "Shiver Me Timbers" and "The Legend of Davy Jones" are sufficiently menacing-sounding to keep the whole thing afloat with kids who'd sooner walk the plank than be caught listening to a kiddie CD. The packagers didn't forget that any pirate worth his eye patch expects a little buried treasure with his purchase: Pirate lore--cool tidbits on flags, secret identities, and so forth--fill the liner notes. --Tammy La Gorce

Bought this on a whim and absolutely love it! Yeah...I know it's a kid's CD but who cares!! Within a week I knew all the songs by heart and I sing along at the top of my lungs while I'm cruisin down the highway. It's the best "feel good" CD I've bought in a long time.

Cynical types will accuse Disney of milking the "greatest" concept until it's drier than Tinkerbell's fairy dust ("Supercalafragilisticexpealidocious," "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da," and "Heigh Ho" were hits off of Vol. 1; "Bare Necessities," "It's a Small World," and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" stole the show on Vol. 2), but a glimpse of this installment's track listing is all it'll take to squash their suspicions. Once again running reverse-chronologically, Vol. 3 opens with Jonatha Brooke's gorgeously achy ballad "I'll Try," from 2002's arguably not-so-great Return to Neverland, and gradually reaches back through the years to re-raise the curtain on Toy Story 2 ("When She Loved Me," performed by Sarah McLachlan), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight"), Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews's classic "A Spoonful of Sugar"), Pinocchio ("Give a Little Whistle"), and a bundle of treasured others, bottoming out at 1933's "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" from The Three Little Pigs. Vol. 3 is not without its weak moments--would a G-rated movie-goers' poll produce Beauty and the Beast's "Gaston" or The Hunchback of Notre Dame's "Topsy Turvy" on a hits list? Seems unlikely. Still, the bulk of these tracks are, as the included Little Mermaid song goes, "Part of Your World," and the spread of decades they represent proves their staying power. Don't expect Disney to latch the lid on its inexhaustible archives until a dozen or so of these records, each as strong as the next, beckon you back for more. --Tammy La Gorce

5 out of 5 stars Timeless Disney Music.......2007-05-07

Nothing brings sweet recollection of Disney movies like hearing the wonderful songs. In an age where there so much music with no redeeming qualities, these Disney CDs are priceless. Wonderful for the entire family to listen to around the house or in the car while traveling. We can't help but sing along. We love that these are the original tracks from the movies! Wonderful! We now have all three volumes.

5 out of 5 stars Disney songs are the best.......2006-03-18

I love the songs on this volume. I'll Try by Jonatha Brooke is such an amzing somg. I especially bought this CD fort that song but, was pleasantly surprsed by the rest of the playlist.

4 out of 5 stars Great Disney Music.......2006-02-21

I have bought the first 2 volumes of Disney's Greatest Hits and the 3rd volume doesn't disapoint. My 2 young children love to listen to this CD and talk about the movies that they come from. A definate must have!

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as Vol 1 and Vol 2.......2005-09-11

This Disney CD represents the "leftovers" that didn't make it on Vol 1 and Vol 2 of this series. Although it has some of my favorites, I don't listen to the entire CD often. Disney could have done a better job of editing the which sound files should make the cut on this one. Still, it's nice to have all 3 CDs.

Producer Joseph Papp's Broadway spin on Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance cannily employs pop firepower in its casting, adding an inviting Yankee accent to roles normally associated with (and sometimes embalmed in) plummy English locution. Erstwhile country-rocker Linda Ronstadt, who by this point had already proven she could tackle pre-rock pop standards, stretches successfully as its heroine. Rex Smith, then dismissed as a pop-rock heartthrob, proves he could be a "legitimate" musical leading man, a niche he's since inhabited comfortably. And Kevin Kline returns to his stage training as the hearty King of the Pirates. Onstage, Papp celebrated the slapstick possibilities of the deliberately silly plot, which weaves reliably tart observations about class consciousness and gender politics into a pirate band's invasion of a Cornish coastal town. A faithful big-screen adaptation added Angela Lansbury for marquee clout, but even without that grande dame of the Great White Way, this original stage cast is a corker, the music glorious and the performances spirited. --Sam Sutherland

5 out of 5 stars Pirates of Penzance .......2007-06-27

Fantastic CDS based on the stageplay and video. I missed Angela Lansbury as Ruth but it is a fanatastic recording and interpretation of Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Soundtrack.......2007-03-08

You have to be a muscial fan to love this. This play is very fun and funny. This soundtrack has the songs from this wonderful play that you will want to hear over and over again.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Recording of an Outstanding Score.......2006-11-07

The entire "Pirates" score plus much of the dialogue is found in this recording. The voices are extremely appropriate to each of the characters, and the comedy of the score is apparent. The energy is extremely high, which, in turn, excites the listener. I never tire of listening to it.

5 out of 5 stars Delightful G & S.......2006-11-04

My favourite performance of this classic Gilbert & Sullivan Operetta. Kevin Kline, Linda Ronstat, and the whole cast are perfect.

5 out of 5 stars This is a great CD!!.......2006-10-30

I love listening to these CD's. (There are 2 of them.) This recording of The Pirates of Penzance is great fun and quite entertaining. The lyrics are enclosed so I can check to see what is being sung if I'm not sure. The melodies are enchanting. The wonderful humor of Gilbert and Sullivan is intact. The silliness and musical talent remind me of the Marx Brothers, especially something like A Night at the Opera.

Linda Ronstadt is amazing! Kevin Kline can do anything! George Rose IS the modern Major General! And Rex Smith ("how rare his beauty") is perfect!

American Idol made me think singing was lame. This album changed my mind.

5 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Followup.......2006-12-13

This is a great followup to Rickie Lee Jones' self-titled debut. There is no sophomore jinx here. "We Belong Together," "Living It Up," and "Skeletons" are worth their weight in gold. The voice is still pure and has held up to this day. Rickie's musicianship and song writing have not diminished and this album 25 years later is a testament to that fact. This is worth every penny and I highly encourage purchasing!

5 out of 5 stars Greatness .......2006-06-26

Rickie Lee's follow-up to her stunning debut did not resonate with me at all when I first purchased it way back in 1981. I hated it. Then, one day, it hit me - - this is great! Pirates has been with me ever since. The characters she paints ("c**t-finger Louie) and stories she tells (the heartbroken kid in "Skeletons" - building model planes which resemble bones) are brilliant. This album is a classic and would be a wise buy for anyone who appreciates unique songwriting delivered in a manner that only Rickie can pull off.

5 out of 5 stars A Haunting Seduction............2005-11-03

Rickie was in 1979, and is still today in 2005, my favorite female singer. While critics compared her to Joni Mitchell and Laura Nyro, Rickie was in a class all by herself. No one has ever come close to imitating her style- lyrically or musically. Listening to this wonderful masterpiece on cd is like being given a gift from Rickie herself. Play this cd late at night with the lights out and you'd swear this artist is singing directly to you, for you. Every composition is that personal. Every song on this cd is my favorite, so I can't recommend listening to one over the other. Just trust me, you need this in your collection of must-haves. She is that good. P.S. Thank God "Girl At Her Volcano", her third LP, is now finally on cd!! I've completely worn out the original 10" vinyl LP and cassette.

5 out of 5 stars A gem that should never be forgotten.......2005-06-18

This isn't just Rickie Lee Jones' best album, its among the best period. Funny thing is, I'll never forget how much I hated it on first listening. I just didn't get it. But I gave it a chance and it is masterpeice. Its storytelling and poetry are the likes of which we rarely see these days. That's just the lyrics. When you consider the music which is jazzy, be bop and a little avant garde _ this is a tremendous work. Finally it is a sincerely emotional piece. Most of it is sad and expresses a longing, loneliness and even tragedy, but makes the fun and joy of the title tune, with Jones scatting like she'd been possesed by the ghost of Ella Fitzgerald, so joyous. Some might even call this album depressing, but the trick is that it makes you FEEL! A philospher once said that that is what art is all about

This CD is pirate pop and buccaneer rock for scallywaggs of all ages. Shiver your timbers with a fanciful blend of scurvy sing-alongs and sea chanteys. Includes songs such as: Age of Buccaneers, I'm a Pirate, and What It's Really Like on a Ship.

Pirate-themed kids' discs have been done before, and they generally fall into the same musical black hole that swallows up other such single-minded projects (think railroad yard music for 4-year-old train buffs, monster records and the occasional daring clown-themed disc). Pegleg Tango makes itself the exception--the treasure chest at the end of a rough voyage--and here's why: Captain Bogg, First Mate McGraw, Charlie Scuppers, and the eye-patch-wearing, plundering brigade of others who populate this disc seem to have been actual pirates before they were kids' artists. "Pieces of 8ight" is served up with enough salt to sink an iceberg, and "What it's Really Like on a Ship" invites scallywags of all ages aboard for a scurvy-skirting adventure. Some surf music washes up, a little reggae reaches the shore, and the occasional mermaid sighting is celebrated with skull-and-cross-bones-style pop harmonizing (imagine a cast of Broadway crooners cutting up with parrots on their shoulders). Bogg & Salty's crew effectively capture Captain Jack Sparrow's swagger and set it to sound; there's not a musical deck-swabber among them. --Tammy La Gorce

my play group had a pirate themed camp and i purchased this CD to get the kids excited about camp. it was a BIG hit. it's all that my 3 year old wants to listen to in the car! and it is fun for adults to listen to as well--it's taking much longer for me to get sick of this CD than of others we own! :)

One of the best CD's for children I have heard in a while. We dance and sing all the way to day care everyday listening to this CD. What a way to start a day!

    5 out of 5 stars A Treasure!.......2007-05-16

I ordered this CD for my son's fifth pirate-themed birthday party. What a treat! ...And there's even a pirate birthday song! It was a party hit and my son has listened to it MANY times since!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best.......2007-04-15

My kids aged 4 and 7 both loved it. Not only that, but the grownups liked it too. Some kids' CDs are annoying (e.g. ones with a Purple Dinosaur) but the songs on this one are pretty catchy and I found myself actually humming some of them at work.

My 3 year old grandson likes to listen to the music when he plays pirates. He also takes along in the car, especially if he is going to Disneyland.
