Great Talent.......2000-07-16

They may have an odd name, but it only aids in making this band memorable. Filled with the talent of veteran musicians, this CD is a cherished part of my collection. The drummer Jimmy Brasier was formerly in a small San Francisco bay area band known as Sweet Children which eventually became a band known as Green Day. Steve (vocals and guitar) and Greg (guitar and bass) were formerly in the late Chance the Gardener (Warner Bros.). On backup vocals, Jack Payne (now on bass as well) adds a nice dimension to the songs. With catchy tunes and lyrics penned by singer Steve Bryant, this introspective CD is mostly mellow but also has songs worthy of a good toe-tapping. A surprise appearance by a banjo on V.I.P. mixes things up giving the song a country feel. Just one of many surprises on this CD that you don't want to miss. It's nice, easy, pop, folk, good, music.
