Every Goth CD collection needs this.......2005-02-26

I first heard "Orchid Dreaming" on the "Gothik Compilation" and I was instantly hooked. This CD is a sure standout amongst the goth genre. The songs are mostly danceable and have a "classic" goth sound to them.

Trying not to list the majority of the CD's tracks, standouts for me are "Orchid Dreaming", "Rebecca" and "Twisting Man".

I recommend this CD highly - If you haven't heard Big Electric Cat yet, you should feel very deprived. ^^

Quietly amazing........2005-01-05

No other words describe this band. This debut album is even better than their sophmore effort, "Eyelash," though that is equally as good; but this one has more clever hooks, more interesting songs. "Christabel" is incredibly sweet; "Paris Skyes" is not, perhaps, as danceable as the mixed on "Burning Embers," but still marvelous. Buy this album now, or regret it later. Or don't, and have horrible taste in music; it's your call.

Big Elecric Cat are amazing.......2000-03-28

I actually have not heard this entire album, only "Cristabel" and "Twisting Man", but from those two songs I was opened to another world. "Cristabel" is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, dreamy and haunting. "Twisting Man" is a bit more sinister, but still beautiful and haunting. Big Electic Cat are Goth in the true sense of the word, not pretentious, not evil, not whiney, just quietly beautiful in it's rememberances of the darker shades of dawn.
