Jokingly referred to as the White Stripes' British album, Elephant is scattered with cultural references that give away the fact it was recorded far from home. Just listen to the lyrics on "Seven Nation Army" ("From the Queen of England to the hounds of Hell") or the album outro, in which someone chips in, "Jolly good, cup of tea?" But while there are new twists here, from Meg White discovering her voice to a tongue-in-cheek threesome with Holly Golightly, Elephant is no great departure for Jack and Meg White. They still push their creativity (and the boundaries of their eight-track) to new heights. Check out the startling, Queen-inspired "There's No Home for You Here," while the deep bass line on "Seven Nation Army" makes it a classic indie dance track. But while some songs fly off into new realms, there's plenty of their trademark straight-up bluesy rock, notably the overtly sexual "Ball and Biscuit." wow the white stripes elephant what could i say about this album ok when i first encountered them i saw the hotel yorba or fell in love with girl video i thought it was realy good then they mad this everthing for jack to make his guitar to have the bass fell was amazing ball and biscuit there 7 minuet song is truly the best song on here i fell that this is prolly the greatest cd ever i bought a red guitar becayse of this album i dont think that will b a cd this good for a long time icky thump is veary close though u should by that one to

The one star is just to have my review seen. I can't seriously review inaudible noise. You really need to listen to the sounds this band is totally ripping off in an offensive way. Pick up a guitar and you'll learn these songs in 2 minutes flat and never want to play them again. Death to retro rock!

I still think Weird Al Yankovich is more diverse a comic/musician, plus a better musician/lyricist.

Elephant is the White Stripes fourth album and one of the best. It has fourteen songs of alternative rock for all ages. Some song like Seven Nation Army and Black Math are faster than songs like In the Cold, Cold Night and Ball and Biscuit.
The White Stripes may only be a two-person band but Jack White (vocals, guitar and piano) along with Meg White (percussion) can think up some awesome songs. Some of those songs are Seven Nation Army, Black Math and The Hardest Button to Button. Not all CDs are perfect though. In the Cold, Cold Night, The Air Near my Fingers and You've got Her in Your Pocket don't appeal to me.
My cousin and I are huge White Stripes junkies. We both think that this is one of their best albums. There is just one thing. If you are strictly a Korn, Green Day, Metallica, Rob Zombie etc. fan, you aren't going to be into this CD as much. It has its fair share of slower songs but great guitar.
If you want to try the White Stripes, listen to their previous albums. They are The White Stripes, De Stijl and White Blood Cells. Their newer CD's are Get Behind Me Satin, Walking with a Ghost and Icky Thump Which comes out June 19, 2007.
Give the White Stripes a try. I promise you'll love them.

Their fifth album, Get Behind Me Satan is the strangest and least focused effort by these unlikely garage rock superstars to date. It's also their finest, an Exile on Main Street-ish mish-mash where the sum is greater than the parts. In a market increasingly driven by singles and downloads, it's nice to be reminded how exciting an album can be, especially one where you really don't know what to expect next. There are a lot fewer pounding guitars on this album. They've largely been replaced by pounding pianos. Most songs sound like rough mixes at first; almost every song has something exceptionally loud in the mix--the guitar solo in "The Nurse," the drums in "Doorbell," everything in "Blue Orchid." After a few listens, however, it becomes clear that the group is not using the studio as an instrument so much as exposing the nuts and bolts in the process along the way.

There are some duds; the wanky blooze-rawk number "Instinct Blues" goes on way too long and it would be nice if "The Nurse" had a real chorus. Whether "Passive Manipulation" is about the wife-or-sister schtick, if the cover artwork indeed has Jack and Meg calling each other devils, and which scripture is referred to by the album's title (Matthew, Mark or Luke?): none of that matters so much as the fact that this album is strangely sprawling and obliquely ass-kicking at the same time. "Orchid" is a rockdisko sonic smash that shows how to really get rock kids on the dancefloor. Meanwhile, "Doorbell" sounds enough like the Jackson Five to totally rule, and "Forever for Her" is the best ballad Jack's written in years. The fact that some marimbas provide the driving force to "Forever" makes it all the better. --Mike McGonigal

This album is sheer unadorned brillance on par with the great classics of all time such as The White Album, Exile on Main Street, etc. Nobody makes music this pure anymore. It's so great that I think a lot of people don't know what to make of it due to the fact that when you compare it to everything else being release these days, it's light years ahead of all of it. A truly groundbreaking album that will probably take years for many people to fully appreciate, embrace, and give it's due of unhearalded masterpiece.

The White Stripes always redefine themselves with every album. This one isn't quite as good as their others, but that is not to say it isn't enjoyable. Still worthy of purchase for any fan.

Many times the first single can be entirely be misleading. Sometimes people will say the single is the worst song on the album while in terrible records it's actually the best and end up fooling buyers thinking the record was awesome. Not so with Get Behind Me Satan, the 5th album from the White Stripes led by duo Jack and Meg White. Now this is not a terrible record by any means, I mean it sure beats anything those pop punk dudes churn out but this isn't a record with huge commercial appeal like Elephant. Probably even less so.

The album starts out promisingly enough with "Blue Orchid" with Jack's octave-affected guitar doing a catchy riff and singing something about orchids and how old someone is. I don't know but it's a great opening track. Next is the totally weird the Nurse which is led by a dulcimer and it's just an odd track, not necessarily bad just...odd. We do have other songs like My Doorbell or the Denial Twist which are big piano-based numbers and while catchy, you kind of miss the guitars for some reason.

The rest are separated into 2 types of songs. First half is the acoustic/piano stuff like Forever For Her (Is Over For Me) and White Moon with the former being one of his better ballads while the latter has a nice piano part yet it suffers from not really having a sense of melody to latch onto outside of the piano. Take, Take, Take which is a more upbeat acoustic song is alright but the chorus is just irritating. Afterwards we get what's probably this album's We're Going to be Friends with a weirdly upbeat As Ugly as I Am which is actually quite fun to play as well as listen to.

The other type is the big blues rock numbers akin to Ball and Biscuit from Elephant. Problem is outside of the main riff, Instinct Blues just feels way too long and is kind of uninteresting to listen. Red Rain is way better which shifts from soft slide guitar to big loud slide chords a la Seven Nation Army. The album ends with the soft piano I Get Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet). It seems like an appropriate closer given the material on here and it's a nice song to listen to but you probably won't have it on repeat much.

You got to give them credit for at least trying to shake things up a bit. But like one reviewer mentioned once, it feels like they're trying to artificially change their sound rather than letting feel like a natural progression. If on first listen it doesn't appeal, try again. It's an album you can get, not get or get but still thinks it's an underwhelming album anyways.

Ok, here we go... the first track is fine, but it gives one a false hope for everything that's to follow. What I wanna know is... Who are the people writing these glowing reviews? Nobody I know, that's for sure. This record is nearly unbearable, an obvious case of a capable songwriter over-reaching and expecting his listeners to suspend their disbelief. Jack White does not have a voice that can carry a song by itself, and the sparse arrangements on this record force his voice to attempt the impossible. It's a fun voice, don't get me wrong, but it MUST be accompanied by some equally quirky guitar to be listenable. Unfortunately, "Get Behind Me, Satan" pushes the vocals very high in the mix, and decorates them with some honky-tonk piano here, some acoustic guitar there, and annoyance all over the place.

Myself and many of my friends are fans of the previous White Stripes records. We have been for a very long time. Not one of the people I know mentions this album without an apocryphal tone of voice, and most just out-and-out hate it. The regular conversation is something to the effect of "Yeah, I gave it a chance, I listened to it over and over, thinking 'maybe it'll grow on me', but I just started to really dislike it." If you haven't bought it, just hold out for the next one, 'cause there's no way it'll be worse than this.

(and for all the folks who are "personally offended" by my judgement of this record - Jack doesn't need your defense. He'll be just fine whether I liked it or not.)

I bought this cd when it was released and was pretty taken back. The music on this cd is different from the whites stripes older cds but it is still interesting to listen to and enjoy. I still listen to this album and most of the songs are pretty cool and fun. I would remcommend this album for those who like the white stripes and those who heard of this band. You'll be in store for something unique!

Smothered by the indulgence of his rock star ranking, Jack White steps into the eccentricities of the supergroup, and at first glance, this seems to be a band where White's imposing presence could overshadow the rest. Not the case with these Raconteurs. Teaming with fellow Detroit songwriter Brendan Benson and Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, the rhythm section from Cincinnati band the Greenhornes, White exhales a bit, deferring enough to his mates to make Broken Boy Soldiers play like a team effort. Following the Benson blueprint, "Steady as She Goes," which opens as a slice of 1960's radio pop, the record steers away from pigeonholing the rest of the way. White's in a Middle Eastern mood for the title track as he pulls off a wicked Robert Plant howl, while Lawrence and Keeler excel on the chorus-strong "Intimate Secretary" and the optimistic acoustic rocker "Yellow Sun." Like so many all-star bands before them, The Raconteurs could be one and done. But don't place the blame on this fertile and genuine debut. --Scott Holter

The Raconteurs are a new band made up of old friends, consisting of Jack Lawrence (bass), Patrick Keeler (drums), Brendan Benson (guitars, vocals, keys) and Jack White(guitars, vocals, keys). The seed was sewn in an attic in the middle of a hot summer when friends Jack White and Brendan Benson got together and wrote a song that truly inspired them. This song was "Steady, As She Goes" and the inspiration led to the creation of a full band with the addition of Lawrence and Keeler. I love artists who can make a new sound from old influences, and the Raconteurs deliver on this albumn. Some of the guitar work sounds like it's straight out of the sixties, yet the songs sit comfortably among other contemporary alt-rock projects. Check this one out.

I'd heard a song or two on the radio while traveling and thought I'd give the cd a go. Fabulous! Truly these musicians enjoy what they do and each others company. Only through genuine collaboration could such a creation happen. They had me from the first song to the last. The style is definately not that of amateurs. Well produced but not to the point that it sounds plastic. In fact one thing I love the most is how they have retained a slight raw edge that was quite refreshing. I hear influences of the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin but with completely fresh insight and I only hope they keep it up so I can add more to my music collection!
In my opinion, not just one or two songs but, all of them are good!

Incredible. I chose this CD at random as "raconteur" is a favorite word. Finding that Jack White was connected made me quite curious. Could this group of musician friends sell themselves as the title they chose for their group? I've played several of these tracks for friends of all ages. There's something for everyone. There's sort of a nostalgic feel to many of the tracks. Not a single track disappoints. Rather each track brings something unique to this collection. I hope we haven't heard the last from these talented Raconteurs!

Rock & roll is constantly splintering into multiple personalities. Big radio players layer thick slabs of studio shine on their albums, while back-to-the-basics rockers keep the sound so raw it rubs calluses on your ears. The White Stripes fall in the latter category. The duo strips down to the fundamentals of Meg White's simple drumbeat and Jack White's garagy guitar and pleading vocals. While the elements are sparse, the Detroit act create a noisy, hip-grinding batch of punk R&B, displayed again on White Blood Cells, the Stripes' third full-length. While it's hard to pick favorites from such talent, this band only gets better with time. White's vocals were sounding like a young Robert Plant on De Stijl--definitely not a bad thing--but on Cells, he's developed his own persona. He throws musical fits on "Fell in Love with a Girl," gets almost loungy on the piano number "This Protector," and keeps the blues vibe running on "Now Mary." The album is so rich with basic variations on a simple theme it's hard to believe such soulful energy comes from just two people. White Blood Cells is an amazing piece of work, a benchmark that ought to inspire new legions of garage rockers for years to come. --Jennifer Maerz

Why do I keep falling for these fly by night one hit wonders. I kept the Elephant albumn only because it had Seven Nation Army.

This albumn only has 1 good song "Fell in love with a girl" which lasts less than 2 minutes. Then the rest of the albumn is full of meandering filler that all sounds like the same 3 guitar chords, the same screaming and the same repetative drum line.

This band spits out a albumn like every 6 months...They would fare much better if they placed all their good songs together and only released 1 album every 2 or 3 years.

This cd will certainly be headed to the Used CD store...if they already do not have too many copies.

As a baby boomer growing up with all the 60's and 70's legends, I figured after early retirement I'd get back into music and search for bands that are still rocking. After buying and listening to a bunch of cds recommended by Amazon I have to say this is one of my favorites. It has components of classic rock with their own unique and excellent style. It's good sober or with a pretty good buzz, which is a true compliment. Rock on Stripes.

I don't see why modern rock critics worship the White Stripes. I mean, I like their music, but calling them brilliant is like calling ZZ Top innovative - both are good bands, but both are also just playing an age-old style and not moving it forward in any way. Jack White himself is a PRETTY GOOD songwriter, a DECENT guitarist, and an AWFUL singer. These don't add up to genius.
That said, I like this band. Just not as much as mainstream critics want me to. Plenty of cool songs, like Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, Fell in Love with a Girl, Hotel Yorba, Finding it Harder to Be a Gentlemen, We're Gonna Be Friends, The Same Boy You've Always Known and Now Mary. So you take these, you merge them with the highlights from Elephant, and you've got an awesome disc on your hands. Too bad there's too much filler here, most of it generic garage-punk like I Think I Smell a Rat, Offend in Every Way, Expecting, The Union Forever and This Protector. And you can forget about experimentation, really, other than the acoustic tracks Hotel Yorba and We're Gonna Be Friends. Considering how much (read: zero) experimentation most mainstream bands do today, perhaps that's why Mr. White gets slobbered all over. Drummer Meg White kinda takes a backseat, but she can really drum when she feels like it.
I think The White Stripes are gonna get it together one day and make an awesome masterpiece of garage-punk. But I also think that's gonna be five years or so in the future. As of now, we've got White Blood Cells, Elephant and Get Behind Me Satan, three fine records by a good but slightly overrated group.

I first got hooked on this CD last year although my dad had it for much longer than that. Before I listened to this cd my favorite White Stripes had always been Elephant but I immediately fell in love with this one. All of the songs are great and I even used "I'm Bound to Pack it up" as my senior song when I graduated from High School. This cd is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to any music lover no matter their genre. If there is nothing in this cd that you like rest assured there is something wrong with you.

This CD is good enough to merit a listen or two but De Stijl means stripped down, not incapable. Shedding the fat in rock is good sense in my book but a modicum of ability would be nice. I'm not asking for virtuoso drumming but I can only take bass-snare-snare for so long, Mrs. White.

However, just because I desire a bit more skill and could do without "Apple Blossom" and prefer Son House's "Death Letter Blues", doesn't mean this sucks.

I appreciate Jack's interests in old blues and heartily approve of physical violence against The Von Bondies. So as far as I'm concerned this merits a purchase but not extened play nor adulation.

This album is a must-own, period. If you thought a guitarist and a drummer couldn't rock like any other band prepare to be proven wrong! "De Stijl" is arguably the best Stripes album with every track being not only memorable and fun but filled with interesting lyrics. Like a modern day Bob Dylan, The Stripes keep churning out music worth repeated listens and for this alone it deserves a place in your record collection along with the rest of the their albums currently available. Jack White is a great singer and pretty good guitarist - he's got a lot of charisma and charm. The lyrics are always very well written and sometimes pretty quotable (they're definitely worth anazlying). Musically it's pretty simple stuff, but that's what's so great about it - it's minimalistic but somehow still manages to be highly engaging (you'll understand once you hear it - it's very hard-rockin'). I couldn't recommend this album enough - along with "White Blood Cells" this is a MUST-have!

Another crazy mixed-up mess from the Stripes. "Death Letter" is the best with "You're Pretty Good Looking for a Girl" right behind it. If you can get over the head scratching (and some people can't) you'll figure out that the White Stripes embody what rock is all about - plug in - play - have fun. I don't even think they care if anyone likes what they play. This is a more basic rock album than their later works but it's easy to hear that they were not quite in sync with programmed radio rock even then. Really a great CD.

De Stijl seems to be the least common of the White Stripes albums, yet I cannot understand why this is so. I would consider this C.D. to be by far their best, for it is full of all sorts of fascinating rock genres that all seem to be areas of expertise for the band. While many of the songs have a sort of old school rock feel to them, some are completely modern: such as "Hello Operator". This track (which I believe to be the best Stripes song yet) has wild harmonica, an unbelievably catchy guitar rhythm which sets the beat, and at times a cool plucking noise. Then there is the song "Let's Build a Home" which starts off with a random conversation, then bursts into a melody somewhat similar to a song by the Kings of Leon. Aside from these, there are also sweet jives like "Why Can't You Be Nicer to Me" and songs with only acoustic guitar, such as "Your Southern Can Is Mine". Overall, this album has an overwhelming amount of A+ rock. Any White Stripes fan should love it to death, but I would also recommend De Stijl to any rock fan.

Early, unpolished, and hinting at the style they'll develop. The lyrics are interesting, and uncommon. It reminds me of early gritty "classic rock", back when its roots were firmly in the Blues.

Alright, before all you White Stripes fans start cranking out the "No, this review was no helpful"...Sure, the music is insanely original. No other band has or have sounded like them, but does that mean they're great? Sure, Jack White is a great guitarist, but come on people, the matieral just isn't THAT great. And Meg White is one of the worst drummers I have ever heard. My two year old sister can probably play better than her without a lesson. Take an example, say, "Death Letter". It's blues, but boring blues. It goes on about two minutes too long. Robert Johnson, the great blues master, would have kept us alive in the song by playing some amazing solo. That's one problem I have with Jack White. He may be a great guitarist, but like Bruce Springsteen or Eric Clapton's later work, he is extremely lazy, barely playing any solos. I feel 4 stars may be overrating it just because of all the above facts, but I will give them credit for being original and sounding like a 4-person band. Kudos to Jack White! But one man can't keep a band alive! Meg White needs/needed to go. Check out Jack White's new band, The Raconteurs. Their music is repetitive too, but at least there's a rumbling bass and some good, new material.

This is such an amazing debut by The White Stripes....like all of their other CDs, it might take a few listens to get into it, but you soon recognize the genius and intricacy of every song(except Astro, I always skip that one). If you like heavy rock, bluesy rock, or mellow rock, or heavy bluesy mellow rock, this CD will not disappoint you.

The album that really defines the Stripes. The recording is edgy and raw and exudes a power and confidence that other bands only try to imitate. I was surprised to learn what an excellent guitarist Jack White is and he really shines on this CD. His slide work is really good. And for all the complaining I love Meg on the drums - just a good beat without a whole lot of `filler.' There's a good catch phrase for the Stripes - `more real music, less filler." A must have for so many reasons.

I have read most of the reviews for the V2 album and the J Moss Project, and while everyone is entitled to their opinion, I must critique, just a little. J Moss has such an annointed and unique voice that he has no choice but to exploit it. If he uses autotunes, I dont even know what those are, then let it be. Do you really think that someone with this kind of talent should just keep his musical ideas and creations to himself and should not express them? No way. Let it be told and shared with everyone. If J Moss sang abc's and 123's, it would sound good and I would listen. I had the pleasure of attending two of his live performances and I was so surprised that he could sound better than he does on his album. All I could say was Lord have mercy. The man is phenominal. On 06/14/2007 @ the Florence Civic Center, I received a great blessing from God, I dedicated my life back to Christ. I am still on a spiritual high from that nite. Everyone was in full worship mode, young and old. See some people praise fast, slow, some not at all. J Moss does not have to make music to make sure it sounds a certain way or it will be not considered spiritual. If anyone is praising or uplifting the Kingdom of God, how could that be considered Worldly? With all the different technologies available that was not available years ago/Of course, there are different styles and methods that gospel music is created and sound. But with the commonality of worshiping Jesus Christ, we will do fine. THe lyrics like to "Abundantly" are so moving and heartfelt. My favorites are Praise on the Inside and Everybody Aint Got a Word. I am highly anticipating J Moss live performance DVD and his preaching ministry. They both will happen. I am glad for J Moss and thankful for someone so blessed and annointed. J Moss please dont stop making music.

The is album is all that I expected and more. Number 6 is my favorite song and I listen to it almost everyday. Whenever I want to get my praise on in the car I pop in this CD. I would recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary gospel music.

This album is very different from the first one. The first one had more "worship" songs and was less contemporary than this. And while worship music has it's place, this album has more songs talking about living a Christian life outside of the church walls. So I see it as a progression on J's part. And while I like the CD, I did not like it on first listen. Like a previous reviewer said, he used autotune a little too much. This dude can sing. I've met him and heard him live and he can vocally run marathons, so I see no need for the abused pitch correction. He even had KiKi sounding like a "See and Say" robot. But I guess he is adopting that as part of his style. My favorite tracks are "Know Him" "I'm not perfect" and one of the bonus tracks called "Everybody Ain't Got A Word". (He is speaking the truth in this song)



I know that some folks may consider this album too "Worldly" but I believe that all music belongs to God. Satan is the creator of nothing but the perverter of everything. So the music that people consider worldly, is nothing but Satan's perversion of something that God created. It's not the musical style of worldly music that is perverted, but rather the message it delivers and the image it portrays. As long as J. Moss is edifying Christ and not contradicting the Word, I see no problem with him having a more R&B style. I also understand that it is not for everyone. But I commend J. Moss and other Contemporary Gospel artists who are taking back what Satan stole. I don't like putting God in a box by proclaiming His name only through a certain style of music. That being said, I believe this album has something for everyone and I see J. Moss's evolution as a worshipper. I just wish he'd turn down the knob on that autotune plug-in.

I've read all 21 reviews here and many of them tend to focus on J. Moss using vocal enhancements or the album not being as good as the last one, etc. Firstly, I want to say that I thought the same too at first until I began to research and evaluate my progress as Christian. Many times with a sophomore album we want the artist to stay who they were and how they were and if they did then we would complain about the fact that they never grew in their musical presentation and how they always sound the same (ergo John P. Kee), so it is refreshing to see someone right in the middle of his spiritual/musical progression knowing that years from now this album will speak volumes to people though it seem abstract and aloof now. What I like about J. Moss is that he seems to not try and put music out there that is not where he is in his life currently. I read one review that said "it sounds like he tried too hard" and I think part of that comments stems from wanting J to stay where he was with V1. And seriously you don't want him to do that. When J's lyrics start to change and his using these ambiguous pronouns as substitutes for Jesus, then let's start writing bad reviews and emails, but J. Moss is hot and I think that sometimes we don't understand the ministry so we think that the only thing left to do is bash it. There are some things that I thought that he could have done better like have his cameo appearances be real cameos and do more hard-cut singing that we are accustomed to (Marvin Winans, I mean c'mon, he's like THE GREATEST), but overall he maintains his hotness and I can't wait for the next one!!!

I bought this cd some weeks ago, its a really good cd if you dont know much of mobys work or for people who collect mobys cds. If you do know mobys work and you want something new this will not help, you can buy "new york new york" single cause thats the only new song. And as for the artwork, the cover is nice but the booklets inside pictures are a bit disappointing. Oh well, moby rulez anyway.

I listen to a whole lot of French albums from many talented French artists. I'm not sure how i came across Carla Bruni. I listened to her album, and personally, i didn't get anything out of this. She has a lovely voice, but it's nothing special, and sometimes I felt that it gets bland after the first few songs. And the music itself is just too dull. Don't assume that jazz is not my taste, i love jazz/blues music, but this to me was just dull for the most part.

Moby's devout faith--in both God and his own musical whims--give this approach a sort of legitimacy that another, less sincere artist would never have. That sincerity reverberates through the beats and instrumental eclecticism like a pulse. The soulful refrains and proclamations in "Find My Baby" and "Natural Blues" somehow nestle between straight-up dance-floor rave-ups ("Bodyrock") and melt-in-your-mouth ambience ("Inside") with an effortless grace. I was introduced to this album by my brother and was not sure if I would like it as I grew up in the seventies and was therefore somewhat out of touch with today's artists. But from the opening notes of HONEY, I was hooked. Moby put together a wonderful collection of songs for this album, most of which are instantly memorable, covering rock, pop, ambient music, gospel and ballads. Eighteen songs is a lot for one album and maybe four could have been left off: DOWN SLOW and 7 are very short, almost snippets. The spoken tracks: IF THINGS WERE PERFECT and THE SKY IS BROKEN are irritating and I tend to skip them. My other criricism is that the best tracks are contained in the first half of the album and it tends to run out of steam after RUN ON. So maybe a differnet playing order would have held my interest better. But that is only a minor complaint as there are so many wonderful tracks.

HONEY, WHY DOES MY HEART FEEL SO BAD, BODYROCK, RUSHING, RUN ON, NATURAL BLUES, EVERLOVING, GUITAR FLUTES AND STRING, PORCELAIN, FIND MY BABY, SOUTHSIDE and MACHETE are standouts. PORCELAIN may be overplayed as I see it listed on most chillout albums, including PURE MOODS 3 but there is no denying it is a great song. SOUTHSIDE is the other big hit but it does not really need Gwen Stefani's guest vocal and some other songs do tend to repeat the one line over and over (HONEY, FIND MY BABY, WHY DOES MY HEART...) but they never sound motonous. But the album is more creative than most today and this guy is very versatile with different styles of music. My favourite way to listen to the album is to delete the four tracks mentioned above that i do not care for and then let the album play. It is beautiful, raw, soulful and edgy all at once.

By the way skip the liner notes. Moby pours forth about his beliefs on various topics and I for one don't really care. I am interested in some of the issues he talks about but it does come accross as a little bit preachy. Just create more great music. Below are track listing and times. Almost all the tracks on this one are winners. Lots of music for the money. Won't get old too quick - you can keep coming back to this one.
