I had not heard of Richard Stoltzman (Clarinet) but this is a generous (66+ minutes)and wonderful CD. The musicians such as guitarist Gene Bertoncini and the English Chamber Orchestra are
excellent. "Sleepless in Seattle" is an upbeat tune and "Out of Africa" is simply beautiful. An excellent variety and treatment of these movie themes. Highly recommended. P.S. - The above
album title shows artist as "Eddie Gomez" - he does play on the album but Mr. Stoltzman is the "headliner."

First tune "The piano" made me get stuck.
And, I was moved to tears.

All the other tunes impress me,too.

This item made Richard Stoltzman to became My Most Favorite Artist of the world.

Now,10years have passed after I boght it.
But it never fades.

Calling Me Back to the Wild is a collection of songs that speak to one's heart. Sensuous and nurturing, the lyrics and melodies take you in a journey through the inner workings of life, love, hope... Michael Tomlinson has the virtue of finding beauty in everything and has the ability to perfectly convey his vision through his work.

Michael Tomlinson decided to do it HIS way. Abandoning the rules and regulations of his record company, Tomlinson quit to make music on his own. "Calling Me Back To The Wild" marks his first venture out of the gate and running away from the record company CEO's. His deft musical ability, teamed with his awesome lyrics make for an enjoyable (but scaled down) 1st offering of music, story and light. His music is easy to digest - not too preachy and always gives me a lift. Tomlinson is just as enjoyable in concert - like sitting down with an old friend in your living room. Buy one for yourself and another for a friend. They'll thank you!

Naito's music is somewhat in the orbit of the late Toru Takemitsu, Japan's superstar composer, with whom Naito was quite close. This is to say that the harmonic world will strike a Westerner as French until listening deeper and discovering a uniquely Japanese musical aesthetic which has assimilated some Western formal ideas, assimilating them into Japanese musical traditions.

I find all of these pieces to be very strong. My favorite is Winter Shadow, for two guitars, with William Anderson and Oren Fader. In this work there are two movements. The first has rich harmonies and achieves a real sense of multidimensionality. The second movement is free structually, with spectacular bottle-neck slide playing, pizzicato, and rasqueado techniques.

          This is a pretty basic album for being an Atrocity release. Though being basic it's still very good and should be in every Atrocity fan's collection. The album is fairly dark, with low guitars and emotional keyboards arrangements. The drums are kinda down par but this is a very experimental album for the band. The vocals are superb as always with Atrocity having Alex Krull's usual mixture of Death/Black Metal growls to his Dark melodic vocals. This album also has a second vocalist along side Krull, Whom is none other then Krull's sister Yasmin whom is featured on most tracks and adds great duel vocals and lots of good chemistry with her brother. This is one of Atrocity's soft sides, So if your looking for just a basic Metal album i'd advise looking else where.. Now if you want originality and dark melodic tunes pick this up.
