About the Artist
In 1995, several members of nearly famous bands got together to form Company of Strangers. The five would rev up before St. Patrick's Day each year for a steady stream of Irish gigs. They took time to hone their vocal harmonies and diverse instrumentation, and developed a style and flair that turned these classic Irish songs into something uniquely their own.

But it didn't stop there... The band found that they had more to offer than just the Irish material, and began working year 'round to perfect and perform an eclectic collection of cover tunes as well as a host of original songs. These songs reflected their individual backgrounds and helped to create their own sound which drew equally from Celtic, folk, rock and bluegrass.

Company of Strangers continues to bring their brand of "foot stompin' folk" to audiences while they compile a library of new original material. Fourteen of these original songs are featured on their debut CD, Scranton County Fair.

WE HAVE SEEN THESE GUYS PLAY, THEIR MUSIC IS EXCELLENT. THEY HAVE A FOLKY/BLUEGRASS/IRISH SOUND AND THEIR HARMONIES MELD TOGETHER VERY WELL. I HAVE BOUGHT THE CD AND HAVE PLAYED IT FOR MANY OF MY FRIENDS AND THEY ALSO ENJOYED THE SOUND. IF YA EVER GET A CHANCE TO SEE THESE GUYS AROUND YOUR AREA CHECK THEM OUT!!!THEY CAN PUT OUT THE JAMS FROM PAST DECADES ALSO. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT CD THEY PUT OUT.

I love this CD! I am a big fan of Irish music and this band does such a great job! I've been lucky to see them live so I have witnessed firsthand their energy, style, and enthusiasm! These things come through the CD too! This group sounds great, and if you love Irish, rock, or folk music, this is the one to buy! I've been asked many times "Who's that band?", and as soon as I say the name "Company of Strangers", they buy the CD too. It's REALLY that good.

This CD is constantly in my disc changer. It contains songs that can have the whole party hopping to the beat. Other songs are made for a rainy day. This CD gives something to everyone.
