Customer Reviews:
MTV Fantastic Females 3...I Like!.......2005-08-17
After the major success of the two preceeding volumes of MTV Fantastic Females comes the third installment featuring 16 spellbinding, estrogen-driven hits from the best female superstars (1999 - 2000). This compilation album never failed to amuse the music lovers like me even after listening to it over and over again. Each and every track will take you to a wonderful journey of catchy, mesmerizing rhythm and melody that soothes the senses when you try to listen to it with heart.
1. Britney Spears > Born To Make You Happy (Radio Edit)
Whatever other people have against this pop princess, her performance in this songs is superb. This one will make you dance and fall in love at the same time.
2. Melanie C. feat. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes > Never Be The Same Again
This third single off the album "Northern Star" of Sporty Spice will make you groove with its mixture of pop, rnb and rap. The song is about thanking someone who changed whoever's life for the better. Good lyrics, good music...great!
3. Mandy Moore > Walk Me Home
This song wasn't heard much on the airwaves of Asia but this sweet like candy pop princess really hit it off with this song. Slow, sassy and smooth. Nice to listen to when you're driving or relaxing in your room.
4. Lene Marlin > Sitting Down Here
Most upbeat guitar-driven music combined with sweet lady-like voice shows love and adoration for someone but this one makes an antithesis. A vengeful, scheming person will enjoy listening to this song. Enough to give confidence to get even or get everything.
5. Anggun > Still Reminds Me
She has never lost her Indonesian touch when she sings English songs. If you liked "Snow On The Sahara", you will consider this as one of her greatest hits too. If you are missing someone or trying to forget someone but everywhere you look, you are reminded of that person, you can surely relate to this song.
6. Olive > I'm Not In Love
They released "You're Not Alone" in 1997 and now they're back with their rendition of this song which is also included in soundtrack of "The Next Best Thing". Upbeat and hypnotic, this track will take you to a strange place in music world where you will find yourself dancing to every beat.
7. Chantal Kreviazuk > Before You
Another song of thankfulness and gratitude. The well written lyrics is perfectly combined with guitars, drums and piano. Not to mention her voice; velvety and enchanting.
8. Sinéad O'Connor > No Man's Woman
This rock diva never failed to make good and catchy music since the 80's. A song of man-haters, this track can be an instant favorite of everyone who tries to listen to this song.
9. Macy Gray > Still
Loyalty And Undying Feeling. These two things can be found in this song. Slow and enticing, no wonder the soulful diva behind this has become everyone's favorite. A unique voice for a solemn song.
10. Gabrielle > Sunshine
First single of her successful 1999 album, "Rise". Another song of thankfulness where she compares the special person to the heavenly bodies who helped reach her goal and feel good in life. Very nice song indeed!
11. Anastacia > I'm Outta Love
This is her debut single which started her rise to stardom. Taylor-Dayne sound-alike, she sings this I'm-over-you song with her powerful voice that will make everyone swing and groove from start to fade.
12. Destiny's Child > Jumpin' Jumpin'
The fourth single off the album "The Writing's On The Wall" when they were still four. Catchy tune and rnb elements combined together made this song about partying and clubbing fantastic.
13. Kandi > Don't Think I'm Not
Here is an rnb song that not most people are aware of but once listened to, everyone can't help it but dance and get confident. This get-even-with=cheaters song is a hit that should have been given much exposure especially in Asia. Not to mention the singer/composer behind it and other hits.
14. Lara Fabian > I Will Love Again (Ballad Reprise)
The original version which is upbeat is great. This version is phenomenal. A song for people who are recovering from heartaches. A diva with a heart is she.
15. Shania Twain > You've Got A Way
A song from a country diva which is included in the soundtrack of "Notting Hill", only unremixed. Slow and romantic, the songs and the voice is totally mesmerizing. Good for lovers and adoring your love interests.
16. Bic Runga > Drive
This is the only acoustic song of the MTV Fantastic Females compilation album where the music is only produced by guitars. A perfect song to end your listening session of the said album. Slow with different moods shown by the music and words of a diva from New Zealand.
After listening to this one, you will be keeping this album and will get the drive of listening to it several times. Everyone can have a chance to listen and appreciate the great music of female superstars God gave us through great compilations like MTV Fantastic Females. If you are into hits of the divas, this one is perfect for you. The only downside of this third installment is that the playlist is reduced to 16 where the earlier ones have 19. Nevertheless, even if this album has only 10 songs, you will never regret having a copy of this. Try listening to the first and second versions and you'll see that this one is not far from being another successful production of MTV and Sony Music.
Have a great music. Have a great day.
