This isn't really the Bob Marley and the Wailers.......2005-02-22
If you think that you are getting some rare Bob Marley and the Wailers material, you are sadly mistaken. This cd is actually all remixes from a few years ago, and all that is present is bob's vioce. No Wailers had any part in this and although it is fun to liten to once and awhile, it is not actually a Bob Marley and the Wailers recording, it just features his voice.
Sun is shining.......2000-05-04
Out of this world, but that's what one would expect from the legendary bob. I first heard this CD at a friend's party in Pretoria (S.A.) and I danced to it the whole night. Now I can't take it out of my cd player.
awesome.......2000-02-08
I heard this on Buffalo's dance radio station- NRG Radio...100.3FM, and god was it good! I searched till I found out what it was......now I can't stop playing it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is great - the album's better!.......2006-01-23
Not as immediate as 'Dancefloor', but many of you may be familiar with this track from the demos that have been kicking around the net under its original title of 'Scummy'. The two B sides are two bursts of teen punk angst, which while not as good as anything on the album, are pretty essential anyway. The album is released in the UK today, and its well worth stumping-up the extra dosh to get the import vesion rather than waiting the best part of a month for the US release. Its already the biggest selling debut album in the UK ever beating Definitely Maybe by some yards and this single is at the top of the pile in charts as well. BUY BUY BUY!

Customer Reviews:
My favorite Chemical Brothers song.......2004-11-30
I remember there was a time when MTV actually played music videos and music videos that I actually enjoyed. That was how I discovered The Chemical Brothers. I first saw the music video for "Setting Sun" and was impressed by the fact that: A) this was a good song/video and B) MTV was playing actual techno music. "Setting Sun" is and always will be my favorite song by The Chemical Brothers. I just love that searing psychedelic beat that opens up the song. I also love the song because I got the chance to hear Oasis' Noel Gallagher sing for once, unlike his obnoxious brother Liam. I could have lived without the instrumental version of "Setting Sun". I thought it didn't sound good without Noel Gallagher's vocals and the buzz tracks didn't really do anything for me. Personally I would have liked to heard remixed versions of "Setting Sun" or simply a bonus track or two instead.
Even though it was all too similar, it was good anyways.......2004-09-09
I was surprised that the full length version wasn't the same with that ENDING you hear on 'Dig Your Own Hole' It skips that little part where the pre-ending trails off into this little "breakdown" and then it has the quick ending (If I make sense). The [EDIT] to me wasn't anything special...just a short and sweet version of the hit song with Noel Gallagher from Oasis. I would consider 'Buzz Tracks' to be one of their few UNIQUE tracks that could have somewhat great potential if it were ever to be released on a full-length album of theirs. I thought the Instrumental version of the songs was all worth it, cause it gives me an opportunity to hear everything I could not hear when the vocals were ringing nice and lour through my ears. Overall, the Setting Sun CD-Single is definitely worth it and is obviouslly another MUST for the Chem. Bros. fans out there...It's also a good one for all you new guys out there, looking for some good acid house techno to listen to.
Thanks!

Setting Sun
Review
Taken from the album "Dig Your Own Hole" includes a radio edit, instrumental and a B -side Buzz Tracks.
1. Setting Sun (Full Length Version) 5:22 Taken from "Dig Your Own Hole", a brilliant song with Noel Gallagher singing. 10/10
2. Setting Sun (Radio Edit) 4:00 Similar to Full Length Version but with 1:22 cut off it. 10/10
3. Buzz Tracks 4:11 A brilliant B - side with a cool beat, it get better as it speeds up. 10/10
4. Setting Sun (Instrumental) 7:00 A longer version of Track 1 but with no singing. 10/10
Improvements that could have been made
Another B - side
More tracks
Good things
A good B-side "Buzz Tracks"
Impressive instrumental
Cool Cd cover
Overall Score 10/10 Ideal for a Chemical Brothers fan such as myself or a collector of Chemical Brothers merchandise. A great addition amongst the other Chemical Brothers singles.
Awesome.......2003-02-19
This EP is awesome. I got it yesterday and I loved it. It only has 4 songs and is only 20 minutes long but it still kicks...! Setting Sun (Full Length Version) is awesome.
Setting Sun (Radio Edit) is kind of short but I still like it.
Buzz Tracks is the best song on this EP as the "Dig Your Own Hole" Setting Sun version isn't on here. I love all the synthesizers mixed with the drums and everything else.
Setting Sun (Instrumental) is a beautiful song. It shows what the song is like from Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons's point of view.
My worship.......2002-02-08
If I had to got to war this would be my warship, because I worship this cd!

Milk Inc's best remix!.......2005-06-01
Water Music Dance is great at singles, but god awful at compilations (Don't buy any of their comps! They say they're full versions, but their edits. One compilation (Trance Anthems) it faded out every song after 5 minutes. Avoid these).
YAY! Milk Inc finally makes it to the states. This isn't their best single and it's a remake, but the Valderan Remix makes ALL the difference. This is a great remix and is filled with energy and extremely euphoric. It greatly improves the song! You have got to get this, especially for the price!
keep an eye out for vocal trance on Water Music Dance!!!.......2005-03-17
So I pick up 2 singles for 1.99, this and Blank & Jones "mind of the wonderful." Seems this company Water Music Dance is releasing singles of stuff that was only on import single for loads more money, and man is it worth the cost. This is the beautiful Milk Inc female vocal trance cover of the already beautiful A-ha synth track from way back in 1985. Get it while it's hot. Four versions: radio edit, full version, original extended, and Vandoren remix.

Also See The Golden Roots Review.......2004-11-23
It may be no secret by now that Charlie Rich was eclectic himself in his choice and style of music, so eclectic, so wide-ranging that he could not be categorized (a bit like Ray Charles). Due to that he never really achieved the success that he really deserved, years of countrypolitan or not, as nobody knew how to promote him. After "Behind Closed Doors" hit, the umpteen record companies that he had recorded for all seemed to release his songs from their vaults to capitalize on his new fame. I bought them all since I was not always able to when they first came out; they are all included in this package. Charlie had made new, equally as good or better. versions of his so-so hits (or non-hits) as he moved from record company to record company. Apparently he never did so with "A Little Bit Sweet", a favorite of this then-romantic teenager in the listening area of his home base of Memphis. "On My Knees", included here, was redone effectively with country singer Janie Fricke near the end of his countrypolitan reign. There was more than one version of "Sittin' and Thinkin'", a regional hit. The bluesy "There Won't Be Anymore" was restyled into a country hit in the mid-70s. The more ambitious version of "Midnight Blues" became an often-played album cut from "Every Time You Touch Me (I Get High"). The particular selection of the songs here seem very similar to the compilation "Original Hits and Midnight Demos" available in another venue. In any case, these are the originals from which the other versions sprang. This is a great piece of musical history. I value my own well-kept collection of these songs by a musician talented on all levels. I miss him.
The Golden Roots of the Silver Fox.......2003-12-21
Years before he found the sophisticated countrypolitan formula that would vault him to international fame in the mid-70s, Rich was a second-generation Sun rock 'n' roller. Starting in 1958, he released a string of truly fine singles that wed his background in R&B, blues and jazz to the reverbed energy of Sun's rockabilly sound. Surprisingly, he had virtually no commercial success in his six years at Sun, peaking at #22 with the self-penned "Lonely Weekends," hitting #67 on the country chart with "Who Will the Next Fool Be," and scraping the bottom of the pop chart at #111 with "Just a Little Bit Sweet."
Perhaps his delivery at such an early point in his career was just too similar to Elvis' contemporaneous work at RCA to capture its own audience. He sang with authority and not a little bit of swagger, but his Sun sides (actually released on the Sun subsidiary Phillips International) never ignited a commercial following. His success in placing songs with Sun labelmates suggests that perhaps Rich's style may have cut too smoothly across genres to engage those coming strictly from the worlds of rock 'n' roll, blues or R&B. It would be another 15 years before the record-buying world would wake up to his synthesis.
Rich's first single, "Whirlwind" b/w "Philadelphia Baby," shows a purer rockabilly sound to be a good fit for Rich's voice. By his second outing he was mixing in gospel ("Big Man"), and his third, "Lonely Weekends," adds blue country soul to the rock 'n' roll. He sang (and to a large extent, penned) doo-wop ("School Days"), Latin ballads ("On My Knees"), blues ("Who Will the Next Fool Be," "Midnight Blues"), R&B ("Easy Money," "Finally Found Out"), and pop jazz ("There's Another Place I Can't Go"). His versatility is admirable and effective, though it was probably confusing for the marketing folks at Sun.
Varese's compilation of Rich's original 10 singles (both A and B sides) is augmented by three album tracks and a pair of cuts previously unissued by Sun. Highlights among the bonuses are Rich's heartbroken, yet bouncy "Goodbye Mary Ann," the Jerry Lee Lewis styled piano rockabilly "Yes Ma'am," and the jazzy piano-driven blues growl "There Won't Be Anymore."
Fans familiar only with Rich's hit '70s sides, and perhaps "Lonely Weekend," as well as fans of '50s rock 'n' roll (or modern day revivalists like Big Sandy), will delight in this lesser explored side of The Silver Fox.

electro & rock a-sides.......2004-11-25
After one year of silence, Dirty Vegas is back with a new album and a new single. Two tracks on this release:
1. Walk Into The Sun (Radio Edit) 3:59
2. State Of Mind 5:54
The first track is a nice electro song with guitars. A hit from the first listening.
I wasn't sure what to expect about the b-side. It is a great rock song, similar in style to Oasis' Standing On The Shoulders of Giants. The bass is loud, the guitars crispy and the vocals are awesome. This non-lp track could easily have been the second single off their new album. It was added as a bonus track on the Japanese version of "One".
This single is part of a two cd set and this is where it loses one star. The British industry has not yet renounced to its 20-minute limit imposed on cd-singles to be taken into account in the national charts. On the cd-single, a sticker says: "Expect to pay no more than 2 British pounds"...
