Is there a more perfect musical metaphor for Nip/Tuck's themes of deeper-than-skin neuroses and narcissistic surgical reinvention than the chic chimera of a club remix? Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden, the dub savants behind contemporary club successes that include Andain's "Beautiful Things", Motorcycle's "As the Rush Comes" and Sarah McLachlan's "Fallen," conjur up a nigh-seamless soundscape of haunting textures and percolating beats here, forcefully pushing the envelope of what a smart song-score can be in the bargain. Their rhythmic reinvention of The Engine Room's theme for the show, "A Perfect Lie," sets the cynical, haunting tone, with Gabriel and Dresden employing a sensibility that's both more mature and austere than their typical club work. G&D infuse that consistently entrancing sensibility to material as diverse as the cool-jazz of "Angels" by Wax Poetic/Norah Jones, Daniel Ash's stripped-down reinvention of the standard "Fever" and the retro-disco of Client's "Price of Love." If it's a triumph of style over substance, it's one that musically underscores the show's similar themes with grace and ever-detached elegance. --Jerry McCulley

4 out of 5 stars Good CD.......2007-07-10

I did enjoy this CD but not all of the music was as it was on the show.

4 out of 5 stars Nip/tuck music CD.......2007-03-09

Again, I was a bit dissapointed but most of the songs are pretty good. However, I found that downloading the indivdual songs I like worked better for me.

2 out of 5 stars nip/tuck.......2007-01-12

The soundtrack on the TV show are typically a different style than what is on the CD. It wasn't what I had expected.

5 out of 5 stars Love It.......2007-01-10

I don't remember what episode of Nip/Tuck I was watching when it hit me that the music for this show is awesome! There was just some really sexy song playing, I think it may have been "Fever," and I immediately got on iTunes and bought this CD. I'm so glad I did! The sound is very recognizeable, for fans of the show. Also, if you're a fan of the Grey's Anatomy soundtracks you will like this - the sound is very similar - just slightly more edgy and hot, in my opinion. That makes sense, though, because in a way Nip/Tuck is more edgy than Grey's Anatomy, and more edgy than most shows out there on television, I guess.

My favorite tracks:

-So Damn Beautiful
-Fever
-Lonley
-Pride

If you buy the version on iTunes, it comes with a bonus track, "Tracking Treasure Down" by Gabriel & Dresden. I love this song the most out of all of them on the album, I think. With the iTunes version you also get a free podcast that tells about the making of the theme song "A Perfect Lie."

Five Stars!!

1 out of 5 stars Nip/Tuck - Where's the music?.......2006-11-08

This CD is a gross mis-representation - it IS NOT the music you hear on the TV show Nip/Tuck. I have watched every episode of the show, and LOVE the background music they use on the TV show. There were only two, maybe three tracks on this CD that I recognize from the show. The rest of it was awful.

I am extremely disappointed.
