Director Joel Schumacher, who went on to helm many big-budget, tiny-intellectual movies, gave us an 1980s update of the story of the vampire. It was all hip, good-looking, and tremendously vacuous. Similarly, the music doesn't break any new ground or offer much that's timeless. INXS' collaborations with Jimmy Barnes are fine, for instance, but Foreigner vocalist Lou Gramm's "Lost in the Shadows (The Lost Boys)" verges on the painful in a way that only overwrought 1980s music can. Roger Daltrey's take on Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" is by the numbers, and so wasted. It's only Echo and the Bunnymen's cover of The Doors' "People Are Strange" that warrants much attention, even if it's, erm, buried. --Scott Wilson

4 out of 5 stars lost boys original motion picture soundtrack.......2007-06-27

Great soundtrack except a few songs are not on it like Aint Got A Home.

4 out of 5 stars Totally 80's, but I love it........2007-04-11

This music fits the movie perfectly. If you love the 80's, you will think this is very cool stuff. I'm still not sick of it 20 years later.

4 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but way worthy.......2007-01-26

Just got my copy at home. The first time you spin it feels like most of the music ain't really worth playing (with notable exceptions mentioned later), yet, the second time you listen to it it gets way better. Its not really mainstream music, actually I would find this product more suitable to big The Lost Boys' fans, but themes like Cry Little Sister, I Still Believe, the People Are Strange cover, and the final track are all awesome.

4 out of 5 stars badass.......2006-12-25

i admit this cd does not have much to offer, a few of the songs are just ok, but cry little sister is so awesome it makes up for it all!!

5 out of 5 stars Review a little late............2006-11-19

What can I say, I'm lucky. I bought this when it was first released on tape!! It was awesome then and it still is. One of the best movie soundtracks ever ever release.
