If one needs a compelling introduction to the emotional gravitas that too often gets overlooked in fashion-obsessed indie and modern rock circles, this largely introspective song-score compilation may be just the ticket. Like its spiritual '04 twin,
Garden State, it's a collection that eschews attitude for mature reflection via expected contributors like The Shins, Stereophonics and Mazzy Star, an oblique, obligatory cover or two (Postal Service's seductive reworking of Phil Collins' "Against All Odds"; Jackson Browne's "These Days" in an alt.pretty take by Mates of State) yet achieves other compelling moments from newcomers (the straightforward torchiness of Jaime Wyatt's "Light Switch") and veterans (Johnette Napolitano and Danny Lohner's stark, gritty acoustic reworking of Coldplay's "Scientist") alike. Other standouts range from the hip, hypno-spacey murk of "We Have a Map of the Piano" by Mum to the crafty, Beatle-esque pop of Lifehouse's "Everybody is Someone." --Jerry McCulley

Nice variety - very indie for a soundtrack.......2007-05-18
I enjoyed this CD very much. It has some great "sex" music too!
A Relaxing and Intense Soundtrack.......2007-01-05
A couple of songs are quiet and relaxing, which I love. There are also a couple of edgy tunes that are wonderful to listen to when you are in the mood.
For a Movie that my Wife Wanted to Watch, it Sure had a Great Soundtrack!.......2006-10-12
I really didn't want to see the movie Wicker Park at all, but my wife did, so I gave it a shot. Not bad, the actresses were hot, and the soundtrack was awesome. It was a must buy for me when I saw that two of my favorites, Snow Patrol and Death Cab for Cutie had tracks on the album, but that was only the beginning. This disk led me to the discovery of who eventually became probably my third or fourth favorite band, The Stereophonics, with what has become one of my favorite songs "Maybe Tomorrow". Other stand out tracks have to be the amazing reworking of Phil Collin's "Against All Odds", by the Postal Service, and "Strange and Beautiful", by Aqualung. The cover of "The Scientist was pretty good, but just not Coldplay. However, rising above all others would have to be "Lover's Spit" by The Broken Social Scene. What a great song. Brilliant. Get this album.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND SOUNDTRACK!.......2006-10-06
This is my favorite. BUT.... Does anyone know the song that plays when josh is walking in the park and the song sorta sounds like RadioHead sings it, but not sure and it has a lyric that says "I need you now"? i love the song. Only know those words and i can't find it anywhere? Anyone know???? Someone help :)
A great collection of alternative songs........2006-08-26
This compilation is great. Most of the songs are great. And the rest are good. I didn't find any particularly bad song in the cd. There are a few insturmentals in there, so if you're one of those who doesn't like 'just music' then maybe the soundtrack cd will disappoint you a bit. Otherwise its great. The songs by postal service, shins and a couple of others are not the normal album versions, but different yet still great, versions.

Fantastic Soundtrack..........2007-04-29
Although it is a short CD, less than 30-minutes, I did find that I enjoyed listening to this chilly yet smooth soundtrack for the movie Wicker Park. Cliff Martinez did a remarkable job on this soundtrack to make Wicker Park that much more of an enjoyable film.
Good Score.......2005-02-05
I think the movie was ok.
The score is better :)
I also recomend the music inspired by the movie
More ambient magic from a criminally overlooked composer.......2004-11-20
The film may have been a muddled waste of celluloid, but it was the undeserving recipient of a beautiful score from the brilliant and unsung Cliff Martinez. Blending hushed, shimmering orchestration with icy electronic atmospheres, this is gorgeous and subtle minimalist ambience, very similar to his wonderful score for Solaris. At half an hour, it's on the short side, but worth the money nonetheless for fans of Martinez' unique brand of ambient alchemy.
