Songs From Dawson's Creek [ENHANCED CD] [Enhanced] [Soundtrack]
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
This souvenir from the popular teen television drama contains several high-profile pop smashes tied to the show (Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me," Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait," and Shawn Mullins's "Shimmer"), along with a number of other tracks similar in tone and style. That is to say, if those songs' slightly wounded romanticism appeals to you, you're likely to find something else here you'll dig. --Rickey Wright

The soundtrack is the perfect complement to the show!.......2005-02-10
This is the best soundtrack I've ever heard, including movie soundtracks.
As fans of the series know, music was always central to Dawson's Creek. It highlighted the emotions, and certain songs will always bring you back to memories of the show.
Each song on the CD has it's own special qualities, they're all good songs, but a few stand-out:
"Kiss Me" exemplifies the innocent romance of the teen years, and Dawson's Creek.
"Feels Like Home" is a beautiful, sweet song that speaks to all fans of the Dawson/Joey coupling.
"Life's a Bitch" is perfectly fitting for Abby Morgan's death, and it's catchy, too!
"Ready For a Fall" is eeriely calm and melancholy, a song that represents Pacey losing Andie.
"London Rain" is a fabulous pop song, which will remind all fans of Dawson building Joey her white picket fence.
"Letting Go" is an original, fun, yet sad song that represents Joey and Dawson's relationship in the second season.
The rest are great, too... and you get the theme song! Who can hear Paula Cole's "I Don't Wanna Wait" without thinking of Dawson's Creek?
Enjoy this CD, and enjoy the memories!
Only gets better.......2004-02-29
I remember how I was so excited when this soundtrack first came out- the show had introduced me to so many songs that I loved, yet hadn't been able to track down (pre-internet knowledge), so when I flung it into my stereo and pressed play, I was a little disappointed. No Chantal's "Before You", no Billie Myers kissing the rain, no Jann Arden singing about her "Good Mother", and definitely no Blink 182 telling the world "Dammit".
But I listened anyway. I kept the disc in there, playing it whenever I was hanging around, and a funny thing happened- I loved it. Although there are some stand-out tracks, it was the general feel of the songs, and the way they were put together to make up the album, that really encapsulated the show for me. Now, whenever I want to remember those moments from the show, or want to feel the water at the end of the dock, the grass beneath my feet, and the craziness of emotions, I put this disc in and press play.
My favorite songs became-
"London Rain"- somehow works perfectly as both a vivid reminder of the scene it was played over in the show, and a personal memory of rainy days and hopeful hearts.
"Letting Go"- this song is just divine, I can't help but sing along to its mournful little chorus.
"Stay You"- an infectious, swinging, soulful song.
"Feels Like Home"- Chantal's music just seems like Creek stuff now; it has that whispery, summery, fresh quality to it.
Dawson's creek fan.......2003-08-19
this is an excellent cd, even for those of you who don't watch the show.
I have watched so many episodes of Dawson's creek, and I feel like i know the characters so well. The music they use to convey the emotions that the characters are feeling, and what we are supposed to feel is beautiful. The songs on this soundtrack are amazing, and have so many memories built into them. I recommend this cd to anyone who is thinking about buying it.
Excellent.......2003-07-06
I would most definetly reccomend this. It has a great mix of songs, and you can see exactly where they'd fit for the show. Some of my favorites are "Lose Your Way", "London Rain", and "Stay You", but I can honestly say all of the songs were good.
sweet and fun.......2002-08-16
This is one of the few cd's I own that I can listen to all, or almost all, of the songs without feeling a strong desire to reach for the 'skip' button on my cd player. I have frequently found myself wishing for more songs because it seems to be over too quickly. This cd features a variety of musical talent that blends together extremely well to make a harmonious mixture that is both pleasant and fun to listen to.
