The Mask Of Zorro: Music From The Motion Picture [Soundtrack]
Editorial Reviews

Don't expect to find the aural sequel to James Horner's epic score to Titanic on The Mask of Zorro. On Zorro, Horner flavors his orchestrations with flamenco, lets some instruments have their solo turns, and goes for a distinct Latin flavoring on most tracks. In the theater it's a rare treat--the composer bridges the gap between the Zorro of long ago and the prerequisite sweeping orchestrations of today's cinema. A variety of influences--everything from his work on Willow to the frenzied stomping of Michael Flatley--seemingly creep into the work. Unfortunately, the vocals of Marc Anthony and Tina Arena on "I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You" (Zorro's equivalent to "My Heart Will Go On") stick out like a sore Anglo thumb amid the rest of this fine score. --Jason Verlinde

...[T]he score ... mixes over-the-top flamenco clichés ... with swirling orchestral arrangements.

Absolutely gorgeous music.......2007-01-10
What fun this CD is! The gorgeous love theme featuring Marc Anthony is absolutely haunting. You'll find yourself humming the melody.
Mask of Zorro.......2006-12-30
Perfectly, wonderfully clichéd, and there's really not much more to say. Full and lovely themes. Yum. You should also hear an early version of a theme from 'Troy', in here.
Another great Horner selection.......2006-08-31
The Mask of Zorro adds another great selection to my James Horner collection of soundtracks. This work captures elements from Braveheart, Willow, Apollo 13, and even touches of Titanic. Plus the underlying theme of "I want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You" is ever present, giving a nice flow and consistency throughout the work. My daughter particularly likes the brilliant use of the dance rhythms throughout, which gives the soundtrack a strong Spanish/Latin flair. Definitely a must-have for Horner fans.
Last song is best.......2006-05-12
I don't care much for the soundtrack, except for the song Marc Anthony and Tina Arena sing together-'I want to spend my lifetime loving you.'
One of the best songs so far. Could listen to it over and over.
As good as the first........2006-03-15
With the sad exception of having killed off Anthony Hopkin's character in the first film, this sequel is every bit as humorous and action packed. I had read the reviews and was a bit concerned, especially about the character of Zorro's son. However, watching the film put aside all my reservations. Bring on a third!
