good memories for me and fun "new" songs for my children.......2007-06-27
We had ordered this for "The Dukes of Hazzard" theme song for our 4yr old and our whole family has fallen in love with the cd. It makes me want to share some of the old fun and simple shows with my children. I forgot about some of those shows. It brings back good memories for my husband and me and the songs are new and exciting for our children. It's a nice change from children's cd's, but our children still think it's fun. The sound quality is good and the songs included on the cd are a great mix. I would definately recommend this one.
memories.......2007-02-22
This cd is excellent it has a lot of very good music and true to the original sound, Am getting a lot of enjoyment, highly recomended
TV Theme Songs.......2007-01-13
This is a great CD for people who watch a lot of TV -especially TV LAND and reruns of old shows when shows had actual theme songs. I took the CD to work and everyone loved trying to figure out what show the songs were from.
TV themes.......2006-07-05
Not all what I expected, not all of the tunes are the original recordings you remember as the TV themes.
Deja Vu.......2006-02-17
Listening to these familiar themes as performed by the original artists certainly brings back wonderful memories! I was particularly pleased, not only with the quality of the pieces, but with the actual performances themselves, just as we remembered them!

For the REAL Dukes fan.......2007-06-27
We ordered this for our 4yr old, since he likes to pretend he's Bo Duke, and it was the hit of the birthday party. My husband and I get a chuckle out of listening to it as it is more than just some songs. It reminds me of the old radio stories; you get songs and stories. It's not a flashy sound track, it stays true to the show.
"Them Dukes, Them Dukes, Them Dukes".......2007-02-16
I first bought this, when it first came out in the L.P. record version ,quite a while ago. I still have it, although, it doesn't sound the best... That is why I ordered the compact disk version... Same thing, only sounds better, and will last much longer. It rocks... I am a big fan of The Dukes of Hazzard, and have been, since I was little.
The Good Ole' Boys.......2006-06-22
This cd is so perfect!
It captures the lightheartedness of the show with all of the wonderful songs.
All of the songs are awsome, with the best ones being Up on Cripple Creek, In the Driver's Seat and Them Good Ole' Boys are Bad.
This cd is a must buy for the average and hardcore Duke fans out there!
Destin to be a collectors item.......2006-03-23
This CD captures the characters of the original television series. Memories of a television program that has become a modern cult classic go with each song and track.
A True Soundtrack.......2005-09-01
Have you ever listened to a soundtrack from a movie that you like and thought to yourself "When did that song play during the movie?" or "What does that song have to do with the movie?" You won't be asking yourself either of these questions after listening to this soundtrack as it's not your ordinary soundtrack. While it's true that you'll hear none of these SONGS during the show you will hear the VOICES during the show. In other words, think of this as a concept album of sorts as the tracks that are on this soundtrack are surrounded by the voices of Boss Hogg, Sheriff Coltrane etc...telling a story as it goes. This soundtrack is entertaining because of the music but also the story that goes with it. If you love the show, I guarantee you'll love this soundtrack as well.

The Dukes of Hazzard soundtrack will probably prove to be much like the film: Mixing Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson together in a Southern rock milieu will either seem genius or it'll have you cowering under Grandma's homemade country quilt. This musical journey to the land of moonshine and short shorts kicks off with Simpson (channeling Britney Spears), who purrs her way through a countrified version of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin." From there, the disc settles into straightforward Southern rockville by way of Lynyrd Skynrd, Molly Hatchet, and other bands from the 1970s and '80s, the era of the Dukes of Hazzard television show. (Two notable exceptions are "Burn It Off" by the band formerly known as the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and "Soul City" by Southern Culture on the Skids.)
There's little inventiveness and few surprises in this compilation. Songs like "Black Betty," "Call Me the Breeze," and "Pride and Joy" should be so well known to fans that only the desire to have them in one place--perhaps as a sonic backdrop to your next stock-car race--would make this album worth owning. Possibly the best track in the collection is Willie Nelson's rendition of "Good Ol' Boys." It reminds one of the Waylon Jennings original, and should give serious Dukes fans a hankerin' for the TV soundtrack, which is being re-released to coincide with the film's debut. --Leah Weathersby
Customer Reviews:
The Soundtrack is Better than the Movie! .......2006-08-05
I was never a big fan of the TV show and the movie was even worse. But I've always been a big fan of Southern Rock and so I really liked the soundtrack music which features songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, as well as Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' with Disaster." I'm only giving the CD four stars instead of five because, as another reviewer noted, they left out Mountain's classic "Mississippi Queen." They also left out an AC/DC song that was in the movie.
I took off one Star for Jessica Simpson rendition of Boots.......2006-06-24
Overall I liked this sountrack, except for the Jessica Simpson rendition of Nancy Sinatra's Boots, she destroyed the song, sounded like some kind of rapp fusion, man it was bad, the other 14 tracks range from very good to excellent, overall it is worth buying, but if you don't want to be sick skip the Jessica Simpson track.
KOOL BUT MISSING SOME SONGS .......2006-01-04
The soundtrack is awsome. But later on I discovered some songs are missing! Its sad to know that your not getting every song from the movie.
The Songs That Are Missing:
1. Jerry Reed's "Guitar Man" (played in the begining of the movie)
2. Shooter Jenninng's "Busted in Baylor County" (played in the scence where Bo and Luke where trying to bust open Boss Hogg's safe)
3. Mountain's "Mississipi Queen" (played when Bo and Luke get there first ride in the new General Lee)
4. Ac/Dc's "If You Want Blood, You Got It" (played when the duke boys are being chased by cops in Alanta)
bore!.......2005-11-22
First, the Jessica Simpson rendition of Nancy Sinatra's fails miserably in comparison. Second, the film 'Spiderman' tacked on the original TV score at the end of the film, it worked. I only wish this did the same with Haggard and it would be icing on the cake if it went a further step with Johnny Cash's 'The General Lee'. Third, my advice...get the TV series soundtrack. There is something about getting further away from the essence of things, things get a bit watered down. LONG LIVE WILLIE!!!
It's Not Enough For A Soundtrack..........2005-10-23
I don't know what's the basic idea for the producers of this album. It's a movie, not a TV series anymore. The music in this soundtrack really reminds me to the west time, country everywhere, cowboys, old cars, but wait..... That's not the one the movie wants to say. This soundtrack is on the wrong lane. It brings the movie and the soundtrack itself to theme for a TV series. The music is so bad, sometimes the songs don't have any exact rhyme and themes. I also get bored when I listen to this album. Almost of the songs here have the same rhythms and beats, I really hate it. The good sides for this album are Jessica Simpson with her This Boots Are Made For Walkin (which I don't think so suited for this kind of soundtrack) and Uncle Jesse's jokes. This album is totally miserable. I'm so happy the movie is totally broke in the market, that's really reflect this soundtrack. I hope the movie will be the winner of Razzie Awards this year. BUT THE FIRST THING>>>>>>>>> Don't buy this, you'll get unsatisfied, upset, angry, because you've buy this.
HAVE A NICE DAY ^_^ !!!!!

Significant Songs Missing.......2007-06-27
I was very disappointed in this CD, as two of the most significant songs in the movie, Mountain's "Mississippi Queen" and ZZ Top's "La Grange", were missing from the CD. When I order a soundtrack, I want EVERY piece of music that's played in the movie. The music makes the scenes come alive.
I suggest reissuing this CD with the missing songs intact and sending a complimentary copy to all who've purchased it to date.
Southern girl loves it.......2007-05-29
This music brings welcome comic relief in a world that often takes itself too seriously. It's got all the retro southern rock I grew up with, and is just a hoot to listen to.
This country collection rocks!.......2006-12-13
This soundtrack album to the 2005 theatrical release begins with Willie "Uncle Jesse" Nelson telling a joke. Then we'll hear great performances by Jessica "Daisy" Simpson.Lynyrd Skynyrd,The James Gang,Stevie Ray Vaughan and of course,Nelson. Nelson performs GOOD OL' BOYS by his late longtime friend Waylon Jennings. Jennings, who served as off-screen narrator on the 1979-85 CBS comedy-adventure series, performed the theme song heard in the opening montage, where he was credited as "the balladeer". Nelson performed it in one of the film's final scenes. Simpson, one of today's biggest recording stars, brilliantly covers Nancy Sinatra's 1966 hit THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKIN',which was written by Lee Hazelwood. The other songs are great. This album would be more awesome with recordings by the series' stars Tom Wopat and John Schneider, who are country music artists themselves. In fact, they, with co-star Catherine Bach, the original Daisy, recently covered GOB with additional lyrics paying homage to Jennings.

A must have for Dukes fans.......2004-08-13
This album is a great album. It features songs from many cast members, along with special guests Johnny Cash & Doug Kershaw, who are a couple of my favorite artists. The version of the theme song is sung by all cast members, which makes the album special. This album does show the people that all of the Dukes cast members do have musical talent, especially Tom Wopat, John Schneider (who both have had several top 40 hits on Billboard's country charts), and Catherine Bach. If you are a fan of country music or the Dukes of Hazzard, this is a must add to your collection. Put this album next to either "Waylon Jennings' Greatest Hits Vol. 2" or "The Essential Waylon Jennings" which have the original Waylon Jennings recording of the theme song and John Schneider's Greatest Hits which features many of his top 10 hits including all 4 of his #1 Billboard country chart hits. Since the time I wrote this review, Sony BMG/Legacy reissued this soundtrack album with Waylon's original version of the theme and the Waylon & Willie classic "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" as bonus tracks and you can find that version here on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000A1IL0U/
I got mine autographed by Catherine Bach!.......2004-07-28
This is not a soundtrack to The Dukes of Hazzard, but rather an album with songs sung by cast members. Most of the actors can't sing, although John Schneider and Tom Wopat have decent voices. One of the most disappointing things about this CD is that the Dukes of Hazzard theme song is not performed by original artist Waylon Jennings, but is instead by the generic "Hazzard County Boys". Other than that, the rest of the album is pretty bad. "The General Lee" is one of the worst songs ever recorded by the great Johnny Cash, sung from the point of view of the Duke Boys' car. There is a terrible cover version of The Band's classic "Up On Cripple Creek", sung by Tom Wopat. The rest of the songs are all originals, and none of them are any good. This album will only appeal to hardcore Dukes of Hazzard fans.
Essential For Dukes Collectors and Fans.......2003-05-07
This is such a cool CD it is so much fun the best song are Flash,Laghing all the way to the bank,Cover Girl Eyes, and the legendary Johnny Cash Singing The Genral Lee.This is a must have for any fellow Dukes collector's and for anybody into really neat truly cheesy but that why I love it
This ain't your kid's country music..............2003-03-08
If you enjoyed the days of hair-raisin' car chases, brutal car crashes, in-depth plot, and hot chicks in short shorts....Well, this is the record for you, friends. This is rough-neck country sung by those that live the life, folks. Hazzard County ain't a Hollywood production, nor is it a mirage; Hazzard County is a way of life....and you'd best recognize that as quickly as possible, if you want to enter its world.
Musically, country don't get much better than this exciting T.V. Soundtrack. Legends like country singers Tom Wopat, Rob Schneider, Boss Hogg, Roscoe and Daisy Duke step up to the singing mic with lesser talents like Johnny Cash, and the results are, well, as Roscoe Picotrain would claim: "G-g-g, I love it, I love it!!!" This is haggard country music before the days of slicksters like Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and Robert John "Mutt" Lange (he of AC/DC and Bryan Adams fame).
Boss Hogg is an especially refreshing precense, his gruffy, cigar-stained vocals giving the whole concept an earthy feel, next to Daisy Duke's angelic vocals a few songs later. This is the stuff of legend, folks.
Not since NBC's "Saved by the Bell" soundtrack, featuring Zach Morris and his Zach Attack, have I heard such a worthy collection of TV-song gems. Here's hoping the Boys of Hazzard, their many ladies, and the clownish cops that chase them, all re-gather once more for a reunion TV special, which is sure to bring together additional country music for the ages.
How good is this record? Simply put, it's Johnny Cash's most worthwhile contribution to any album he's ever been on, plain and simple.
THE ONLY THING MISSING IS COP ENIS AND COOTER, BOTH LADYKILLERS IN THEIR OWN RIGHT!!!!!
Dukes Soundtrack - Yeehar!!.......2002-12-24
I thought it was pretty good but the best track for my money has to be "Flash" because it's so funny and true!! I loved "In the Driver's Seat" as well and think that the whole thing is pretty good, so put them chairs in the wagon and shake them trees back to Hazzard y'all!!
