Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Best Final Fantasy CD I've Listened to!.......2006-12-11

I made this review a few years ago under a different account (my username now, but it has quotes around it. Have no idea how that works.) That hasn't changed my opinion of this CD, though, and even after two or three years I still listen to it over and over again.

I originally bought this CD for the FFVII songs, which are the World Theme (track 3), One-Winged Angel (track 8), and Aeris's Theme (track 13). My brother owned this CD before I went out and bought it and when I heard these three songs, I was instantly hooked. The songs are orchestrated, and there is a lot of life put into each of them. I've listened to the World Theme enough times that I practically have it down to memory, and Aeris's Theme evokes a tide of tearful emotions from just remembering her final scene in the game.

As I continued to listen to the CD, a few others quickly became my favorites as well. Most, if not all, of the piano pieces are absolutlely beautiful and extremely well-executed. I'm not usually big on piano pieces, but this person is an expert and plays it wonderfully and smoothly. Track 2 is a definite favorite.

The rest of the tracks are really well done, as well, and I'll point out the last one as I close. It's sung in the original Japanese, and I loved the song so much that I had to buy the FFIX soundtrack so I could get the English translation. The song is beautiful and the CDs were definitely worth the money for everything I've gotten out of them

The only beef I have with this game is that they didn't add "Prelude". I believe that is a major Final Fantasy staple, but other than that, I absolutely enjoyed the CD and I believe you will, too.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2006-02-04

For those who have played FF, you'll remember a lot of melodies in this CD, now with a full Orchesta arrangement, which makes them sound much better, and which makes this CD totally worth your money. Some of them are piano arrangements which sound really good too. The sheet music can be found on the net, and there are really nice melodies to play for those of us who play the piano. It is defenetely a must have for FF fans.

4 out of 5 stars Check for availability when ordering!.......2006-01-28

I want to encourage anyone who's interested in this CD to make sure it's in stock first. I had it on order for 4 months without hearing so much as a peep about it. Whenever I would write to inquire about it, Amazon informed me that the supplier is out -- starting in October, and continuing on to this month (Jan. of '06). Finally today, I canceled it and will be purchasing another FF soundtrack. So, if you want this CD (and I'm confident from owning "N Generation" that it is good, hence why I can rate it confidently), more power to you -- simply make Amazon promise you it's available first. The listing of "Ships within 4-6 weeks" is simply false information.

5 out of 5 stars For the newbies to Final Fantasy Music.......2004-02-16

This is a perfect showcase of the essence of Final Fantasy music. Nobuo Uematsu's greatests works are showcased in full orchestral glory, and sometimes beautiful piano meledy. This CD has the best selection for a single CD collection. Having "Liberi Fatali", "Aeris's Theme", and "One Winged Angel" all on one CD is perfect. The other tracks are also just icing on the cake. I definetely recommend this CD to anyone who is just starting to explore the world of Final Fantasy, and it's music.

4 out of 5 stars Had higher expectations.......2003-12-19

I bought this cd in the great hopes that the final song from final fantasy IX would be on it and it was. Unfortunately not in english like the game. Besides that I believe the cd is wonderful. Great for any final fantasy fan. If your a long time fan of all the final fantasy games you will enjoy having this cd around to listen to while lounging around.
