A real BUST PLEASE Realize, this is a CD not DVD, Don adam's timing and delivery were one in the same...it really falls short without the visual. This rater makes you pick at least on star. I would buy the Get Smart DVD collection at the drop of a hat, this I would give no stars, I am sure it is posted with the DVD's so people like my self that are excited about finding another little gem will buy it before reading the fine print.

I find this CD more enjoyable each time I listen to it. I can picture all of the expressions on Don Adams face as he speaks his lines and although Get Smart was more a visual comedy this CD makes me laugh out loud. Gotta play that Get Smart theme over and over on the stereo. The CD booklet contains a 1967 interview with Don Adams and some info on the series which I really enjoyed. Great pictures, too.
I've given this item 4 stars because I don't care much for the bonus tracks "Max" and "99" and the price is a bit steep.
Get Smart fans will definitely get something out of it while waiting for the DVDs to become more affordable.

Got Smart-- Ordered a Classic.......2007-01-10

Like sitting on my grandmother's floor in my PJ's, the opening theme to Get Smart got me giddy. This collection of favorites is sure to please any fan of the television series. Caution: resist the urge to sample the songs and voice-overs on to rap songs. That is stealing, kids!

Sorry about that.......2005-04-14

This isn't really a soundtrack album. It's a comedy album featuring segments from the Get Smart TV show, with new framing sequences featuring Don Adams. The idea is that Maxwell Smart is in a tight spot, and he is reminiscing about past situations that might help him out. The framing sequences were written by Buck Henry. Some of the scenes from the TV show don't work as well without the visuals, but for the most part they are still pretty funny. There are three bonus tracks on the CD. Both sides of a rare single released by Barbara Feldon are here. "99" and "Max" are both silly novelty songs, and Miss Feldon sings off key (the songs are also in the opposite order that they appear on the track listing). The final bonus track is the "Get Smart" theme music. Fans of Get Smart should enjoy this CD.

Maxwell Smart Rides Again.......1999-02-01

This CD is comprised of short clips from the original series of Get Smart. It's a great cd and should bring back some great memories. It's weak point is the fact that Get Smart was mainly a physical comedy show, but if your memory is good enough then you might be able to fill in the blanks. :>) For More information on Get Smart contact me @ elp086@ibm.net

I thought this cd was great it brings out the 1940s big band swind ! And Lucille Ball is lovely
as madam Dubarry !!!!

A Casualty of Hollywood Musical Politics.......2004-09-16

I bought the CD to get a hold of Cole Porter's intellegent score. After a few songs in, I realized the movie score wasn't written by Cole, but by a string of Hollywood hacks (the most recognizable of the bunch being Finian Rainbow's Burton Lane)! What a ripoff! And Cole Porter's broadway score is currently not available anywhere. What a waste of resources (mine and Rhino's).

Still...if you want to hear the Tommy Dorsey band at their peak, or hear Red Skelton sing, before his TV tramp days, or Gene Kelly in his prime (Lucille Ball's voice, for the most part, was dubbed by another Hollywood hack, Martha Mears) pick this one up. I figure, when the buying public reads about how the movie moguls handled this project--not giving Ethel Merman the role she originated on Broadway, and replacing Cole's score for a bland, glossy, Hollywood hackjob, this CD will soon go out of print. Nice, bright remastering, though.

Brilliant, eccentric, funky singer-songwriter Jim Infantino has made his best album ever, which is occasion to celebrate. More than on his previous albums, which all had great moments in between darker ones, "Don't Get Smart" is chock full of memorable melodies, striking images and more of Infantino's witty, biting commentary on the world around him. He comes across like a bratty Beastie Boy on "This Message," a boasting grunge-rocker on "Ahead of the Curve," an ennui-laden funk-rocker on "Ambition," and a gentle children's storyteller on "Jumblies." And after what he does with it, Simon and Garfunkel's "Feelin' Groovy" will never be the same. One of the year's best.

Jim Infantino has a secret---he's a 9 year old who placed himself in a state of suspended animation until his body was 2 decades older so he could tell the truth without being made to stay after school or having his butt kicked by the local bullies. On Jim's 4th and latest album, "DON'T GET SMART", the singer/songwriter once again locks, loads and fires his latest beefs. You could almost call some of the album spoken word but that would deny its intuitive musicality---after all, Jim includes a thrashy cover of "Feelin' Groovy", a staple of his live act for years. Trust me, though---this guy may have facial hair and a grown up body and can drive but I know he has a sandbox in his bedroom and a swing behind his house. BEST BETS: "Jumblies", "Ugly People", "Punk Junkies From New York", "Feelin' Groovy".

In a day where on song runs into the next repetative non-complex...Jim's Big Ego gives a does of something music today lacks---originality. It is a great follow-up album to their original, with such songs as Ahead of the Curve, and Feelin Groovy. If you want an escape from the music of today, try these boys out--they do not dissapoint.....and are even better in concert.
