Ironically Released in 1984, this Movie Deals with an Average Guy's Obsession with a Neighboring Girl and How his Personal Computer Shares in his Amorous Intentions. When the Guy Begins to 'Use' his Pc to Try to Entice the Girl, Things Get Interesting. The Original Soundtrack features Two Cuts from the Culture Club ('Dream' and 'Love is Love') plus Eight More.

Good movie - Great soundtrack.......2007-01-10

I loved the movie and am sorely disappointed that it is not readily available on DVD. I loved the movie, but perhaps mostly for the music. Definitely an "80's" album. Culture Club's "Love is Love" is one of the greatest undiscovered songs from the 80's and is by far my favorite on the album. If you cannot enjoy the movie, at least buy the soundtrack and enjoy the music.

Finally Have on CD.......2005-12-17

I almost wore out the tape I had of this soundtrack in my high school days. I actually had to restrain myself from playing it too much in order to preserve it's life. When I saw that the CD was available through an Amazon affiliate for a very reasonable price, I knew I had to get it. I'm listening to "The Duel" right now as I type...

This sure brings back memories of watching this movie in high school literature class and another memorable time with the girl I was dating that later became my wife. We chose "Love Is Love" as one of our wedding songs. I can't say I'm a Boy George fan, but both his songs on here are very beautiful - especially when you think of how nicely they were incorporated into the movie.

I still regard this movie as the most successful integration of a soundtrack with the plot of the movie. From the rocking party anthem of "Let It Run" to the very emotional "Madeline's Theme" the songs were more then just background - they were a part of the movie. It was almost like watching a really good set of music videos that all worked together to build a story.

As others have said, I also was inspired by this movie to get involved with computers and music. As a programmer, I have learned to really dislike computers as a business tool, but I think that they are awesome as an agent for promoting musical creativity.

If you haven't seen the movie - watch it. Then get the CD while you can, because you'll want to remember the feeling for a long time to come.

I remember this movie and I'm disappointed that the cd here is not the real soundtrack from the movie, it's good, but there is a bit missing with this cd as compared to the music in the movie.I agree with Blanchard from Alabama review, it just wasn't mixed right perhaps.

Computing Spirit of the 80's.......2005-02-25

The 80's and computers were a magical time. At this time, we had little conception of how this technology would turn our life into a living hell. Is this movie a foreshadowing of the things to come? The movie and soundtrack are the spirit of the 80's, at least as far as computing goes. It would be nice to buy a Electric Dreams DVD, but I guess the soundtrack will have to do for now. :(
