Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius [Soundtrack]

Jive Records again draws heavily on its roster of teen-pop stars and wannabes for this Nickelodeon film's soundtrack album. The disc offers various tracks by 'N Sync, Britney Spears, and the Backstreet Boys, while 13-year-old Aaron Carter delivers more mock-boasts and party-boyisms on three cuts, including "Go Jimmy Jimmy." The cheerleading doesn't stop there, as vintage punk-pop from the Ramones ("Blitzkrieg Bop") and Go-Go's ("We Got the Beat") and a remake of Kim Wilde's early-'80s hit "Kids in America" by No Secrets help fill out the disc. (Yet another new wave-era classic, "[S]he Blinded Me with Science," is essayed by recent signing Melissa Lefton.) Despite those bright spots, the formula seems a bit tired this go-round; still, this is peppy stuff with much kid appeal. Even parents of a certain disposition will find that it doesn't drive them absolutely batty. --Rickey Wright

Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius.......2007-01-01
I loved this CD. Especially when I found out that both Aaron Carter and the Backstreet Boys were gonna be on it. I will now review each song.
1. Leave it Up To Me- Aaron Carter: This is a good song by Aaron Carter, I love it. I've also seen the music video for this song and it is also really well done. 5/5
2. Pop- NSYNC: OK I used to like NSYNC, but that was a long time ago. Now I don't like them anymore. Give me the Backstreet Boys any day and I'll be fine. Otherwise, this used to be a good song. 3/5
3. Parents Just Don't Understand- Lil Romeo/3LW: I don't know what to say about this song exactly. I don't like it, but I don't neccessarily hate it either... hmmmm. I'll give this one a 4/5.
4. Intimidated- Britney Spears: This is another singer whom I used to like but now I really don't. I prefer her "Oops I did it again" album over this song. 2/5
5. He Blinded Me With Science: This one DOES sound like Pink's "Get the Party Started" I never thought of that before. But I still don't really care for this song. 2/5
6. AC's Alien Nation- Aaron Carter: Another good song by Aaron Carter! I almost like this one better than Leave It Up To Me. But this is my second favorite. 5/5
7. Kids in America- No Secrets: This isn't a bad song, but it's not the best either. No Secrets is ok though. The first time I heard them sing was when they sang on the song Oh Aaron. 4/5
8. The Answer To Our Life- Backstreet Boys: This one is on their Black and Blue album, so it's practically a classic. But Backstreet Boys and Aaron Carter all on the same soundtrack? Hmmm, YES, PLEASE! 5/5
9. The Chicken Dance- Stupid: OK who in their right mind would go and name their band "Stupid". This is a good dance song, but I don't really care for the name of the band though. 5/5
10. I Can Count On You: This is an "iffy" song. I don't like it, but I don't hate it either. 4/5
11. We've Got the Beat- Go Go's?: Is that who sings this song? I'm not sure. But who cares because I love it. 5/5
12. Go Jimmy Jimmy- Aaron Carter: Is it just me, or was Aaron on the ball with this soundtrack? that's THREE songs this kid has on here. But that's alright, because I love Aaron Carter anyway. 5/5
13. Parents Just don't understand: See number three. My opinion is still the same for this song too.
14. Biletstrik Bop: OK I know i spelled that wrong. but no matter. I don't really care for that song anyhow. 1/5
15. Jimmy Neutron Theme- Bowling For Soup: This was the song that turned me on to these guys' music. I only get like Now That's What I Call Music CD's and soundtracks that these guys are featured on though. Not their actual CD's. My favorite song in the world by these guys is 1985. I just love this and that song! 5/5
Well, that's it for my review! I hope it helped!
Kids in America, by No Secrets.......2005-10-08
I really enjoyed the song Kids in America by No Secrets. Both of my children enjoyed it as well. In fact I have been looking for their CD or for more information on them. I thought they were cute, fresh, and brought a new touch to the song.
Back Then It Was Great.......2005-03-14
I used to like this album a lot. I espically like the old songs like the Go-Go's and The Ramones. When I was about 10, after seeing the movie I decided to get the soundtrack. Of course that was when 3LW, Nick Cannon, Lil' Romeo, Aaron Carter, and the Backstreet Boys were cool. Now that I grew out of most cartoons, I listen to this RARELY. But if you have a kid who likes Jimmy Neutron, you should get this for them.
Doesn't Pass the Test of Time.......2005-01-04
After listening again to it after all this time, there's only one thing that stands up (except for the original Ramones and Go Go's stuff). Check out the Bowling for Soup theme song. This group is tight with excellent harmonies. Check out their new album with the hit "1985".
Great!.......2004-09-16
I like this CD becuse it has all of the good songs in it from the movie! If you liked the movie, you will love the CD!
