5 out of 5 stars Farscape - Peacekeeper Wars Soundtrack Review.......2007-02-25

At first I was a little reluctant to buy the CD. I only wanted it for tracks 1 and 4, for the Ambush and Moya Attacked. But the whole CD sounds very good and I am glad I bought it. It always ends sooner then you would like. It will remain in my CD changer for quite awhile.

Thanks for reading, hope it helped.

5 out of 5 stars Leoone 1956.......2006-07-14

Farscape is the most up to date science fiction television show out there. It was the next generation of sci-fi, so sharpe, so crisp that you have to beleive there is another life out there. This show had all the right formula to being the best. Its a shame they were cancelled too soon, the adventure should have continued. I highly reccommend you see this complete series from beginning to end.

5 out of 5 stars A fitting finale to an excellent series!.......2004-10-24

According to the liner notes, composer Guy Gross asked for a full orchestra AND a choir for this score. Thank God he had the temerity to ask ... and thank God that David Kemper (Exec. Producer) and Andrew Prowse (Producer) gave him the green light! The miniseries "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars" was a true rollercoaster ride, an entire season compressed into four all-too-short hours, and only a full orchestra could provide the requisite weight and grandeur such a culmination required.

The results are wonderful. The score is rich, powerful, glorious and quite entertaining. The Sydney Symphony and Cantillation turn in a worthy, passionate performance. The liner notes are well produced, with nice images and appropriate quotes. The CD listens well on its own, but also quite frankly makes me hunger for the DVD of the miniseries ASAP.

Various tracks provide various and shifting moods, moving from the ethereal "The Eidelons" quickly into the exciting "Moya Attacked" or from the sweepingly romantic "Chiana & D'Argo" right into "The Killing of Yondalao". "We Have A Son" is simply glorious. The score then takes on a frightening momentum with Track #16, "We All Die", that carries one relentlessly though to the conclusion. The restatement of the opening bars of the score later in Track #17, "Behold", sends shivers up my spine. And the haunting Track #19, "The Aftermath", is a searching and deeply satisfying prelude to the powerful and moving finale, "This Is Your Playground". ("The Aftermath" also features a snippet of atonal choral howling seemingly straight out of the end of "2001: A Space Odyssey" -- very clever, given the context in the film!)

"Farscape" was easily one of the best, and certainly the most original and compelling, science fiction series ever shown on television; other genre shows still airing are weak, pale and hopelessly shallow in comparison. It remains a pity and a travesty that "Farscape" was treated so shabbily and cancelled so unceremoniously; it much, much deserved better. "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars" is a triumphant achievement, yet sadly only a dim echo of what might have been. But I remain glad that this finale was augmented with such depth and resonance by Guy Gross's tremendous score. I will be listening to this CD with pleasure and great thanks for some time to come.

5 out of 5 stars Most Beautiful Finale.......2004-10-21

To all of the similar FarScape fans, this is the greatest ending to a beauitful series. I hope you also enjoy the SciFi series finale "The PeaceKeeper" wars. It was great to watch and listen from the birth to death of the show. A Legacy that cant be matched up. Again, only true farscape fans can understand the symbiotic relationship between the soundtrack and lives the actors and actresses play on FarScape. A+++
