Pixel Perfect [Soundtrack]

Disney's sprightly cable movie about a teen computer whiz who conjures a holographic lead singer for his friend's struggling teeny-pop band rises above typical kidflick fare by deftly interweaving cautionary themes and moral concerns from sources as unlikely as A Star is Born and The Bride of Frankenstein. And while its soundtrack bubbles with the expected effervescent teen-pop concoctions, they're informed with a lyrical bent that often addresses some of the most troubling questions facing kids growing up in a society fueled by image-conscious hype. Huckapoo's bouncing "Perfectly" sets the tone, while the film's fictional Zetta Bytes pick up the sometimes insecure, ever affirmation-conscious thread on "Nothing's Wrong With Me," "Notice Me," "Get Real" and the wistful ballad "When the Rain Falls." That modern rock-meets-bubblegum sound is bolstered by LaLaine's anthem "If You Wanna Rock" and the rhythmic pop-hop of Lil' J and Chase's "Tru Blu." --Jerry McCulley

Customer Reviews:
The movie was great, but what about the cd?.......2006-07-07
I loved the movie Pixel Perfect and I wanted to get this cd for my birthday. But after hearing the review's it got I think I showed get something better.
So the movie would get 5 stars, but the cd I would give 3 stars to just because of what people said about it.
PIXEL PERFECT, a fantastic Disney Channel Original Movie, also has a fantastic soundtrack........2005-11-10
Ever since Disney got rid of their original shows (So Weird, The Jersey, etc.) and started producing lower-quality ones, I was shocked to find that Disney was doing this with their original movies, too. It's so hard to find a good movie that Disney Channel makes nowadays, but I was so glad to have a breath of fresh air with PIXEL PERFECT. Lately, Disney Channel's movies were coming out as huge stinkers, but PIXEL PERFECT broke the chain, and ended up being one of my favorite Disney movies. I decided that since I was such a big fan of the movie, why not get the soundtrack? I'm not sorry I did.
1) Perfectly (4/5) - A pretty good song you can listen to anytime.
2) Nothing's Wrong With Me (3.5/5) - A great song at first, but once you listen to it a few times, it'll start to sound bad.
3) Notice Me (4.5/5) - I really like this song. It sort of ties in to the plot of the movie, which gives it something extra.
4) Get Real (5/5) - My second favorite song on the CD. Listening to this song just makes you want to get up and dance. This is a very good party song.
5) When the Rain Falls (5/5) - My favorite song on this CD. I'm a big fan of slow songs, and this one exceeded all my expectations for a slow song. If you cried at the end of the movie (I know some of you did!) you'll probably enjoy this one, too.
6) If You Wanna Rock (3.5/5) - LaLaine's an okay singer, but I really don't think rock is her style. She didn't sing this song that well--she's done much better. If you're a LaLaine fan, you might enjoy this song, but if not, you probably won't like it.
7) Don't Even Try It (4.5/5) - This song was barely played in the movie, so I'm glad it's on the CD for me to listen to. The singers for this are fantastic. This is definitely a song I can listen to over and over again without getting annoyed.
8) Tru Blu (2.5/5) - My least favorite song on the CD. If rap is done well, it can be very good. Unfortunately, the rappers for this song didn't do it well, and it's basically garbage. I don't know why Disney picked this song for Pixel Perfect. It doesn't have anything to do with the plot of the movie, and it wasn't that good. If you like rap, you might enjoy this, but anyone else will most likely want to quickly turn it off.
If you enjoyed PIXEL PERFECT, I highly recommend buying this CD. Since there's no telling when Disney Channel is going to play certain movies, having this CD will be a substitute for watching the movie. I really hope Disney releases PIXEL PERFECT on DVD someday. The fanbase is pretty large, so if you haven't seen this fabulous movie yet, it's a must that you watch it next time it's on Disney.
Pixel Perfect [2004].......2005-08-12
I used to Love this Ep but i trimmed down 2 stars. The Zetta Bytes are a likeable pop/rock group with good songs.Huckapoo who does "Perfectly" are a pop band that should be noticed. We also have Lizzie Mcguire's Lalanie doing "If You Wanna Rock" it actually has some guitar in there! Don't Even Try It by Jai-da is the worst most overplayed song on this. Lil'J's song is rap and I hate rap. Buy this for the Zetta Bytes and Huckapoo.
My Track Run-Down
1.Perfectly~Huckapoo 10/10
2.Nothing's Wrong With Me~Zetta Bytes 7/10
3.Notice Me~Zetta Bytes 10/10
4.Get Real~Zetta Bytes 5/10 [The Get Real's are repeative]
5.When The Rain Falls~Zetta Bytes 3/10 [I Don't like ballads}
6.If You Wanna Rock~Lalanie 10/10
7.Don't Even Try It~Jai-da 1/10 [So Repeative!]
8.The Song By LIL'J it's rap and i hate rap so i won't list the title 1/10.
A ok ep That shouldn't be missed for The Zetta Bytes and Huckapoo.
Pretty good!.......2005-06-19
Although this Cd was short, almost too short, I still enjoyed it. Here's how I would rate each song:
1. Perfectly: 4/5
2. Nothing's Wrong with me: 3/5 This song got old after a few days
3. Notice Me: 4/5
4. Get Real: 5/5 This was probably my fave song!
5. When the Rain Falls: 4/5 This was a sad song, but touching.
6. If You Wanna Rock: 4/5 Lalaine has a good voice!
7. Don't Even Try It: 2/5 THis song sounded too much like the boring whiney pop of some bands today. Unfortunately the chorus got stuck in my head!
8. Tru Blu: 5/5 This was my second favorite song!
If you like Radio Disney's pop bands, you'll like the CD. If not, don't bother. See ya!
Yuck!.......2005-06-08
Ok, first of all, this is the most borring CD I have ever heard! The movies is a snoozefest also. The singers on here are awful!!!
