Spectacular SPIDER-MAN Score!.......2005-09-16
When I first saw the "Spider-Man" film, not only was I in awe of the impressive visuals that were appearing before me,but also as much with the spectacular score that the genius Danny Elfman had composed.
This is one potent, powerful and memorable Motion Picture Score that enhances the quality of this film. From the very first notes of the "Main Title",I knew this score was going to be something special - and it is! It has so much going for it.
The "Main Title" and other compositions throughout the score make great use of the choir, whether it be for fast paced action sequences or personal, emotional scenes that occur every so often.
The track "Costume Montage" also is a beautiful combination of score and guitar, and the two compliment each other well.It being one of my favourite tracks on the album.
The track "Revenge",this is another pure delight from the score. It firstly commences in great style with orchestra, then as the pace and emotion gradually picks up, the forces of orchestra, choir and synthesizer combine,to produce another memorable piece.
If I were asked to mention a few of my favourite tracks from this admirable score they would have to be the following - the "Main Title","Costume Montage","Revenge","Revelation" and "Final Confrontation".
This score would have to be one of the best that Danny Elfman has composed thus far in his long and illustrious career. A bold statement, but a true one nonetheless - to my way of thinking anyway!
Awesome.......2005-07-27
All though not as brilliant as the earlier Burton scores, Elfman strikes again with this amazing score. It is rich, percussive, choral, brassy, and huge.
One of the best scores in the last several years.
Spider-Man 1 And 2 Score.......2005-04-08
This May Get to you all. Have you all notice something different in the (score). I will tell you the bit where Peter Parker climbs the wall, Also when he looks into the mirrer, when he misses the bus and starts running for it. Shore there is a bit of the music after the bus but all you fans need that little bit extra. Now I Am a Spider-Man Fan big time and some fans know what that little extra needs. With Spider-Man 2 what about Train & Appreciation that was not used in the movie. I don't care if the counduct the same thing over it's not Elfman wants its what the customer wants also the fans. The missing bits in Spider-Man 2 Score was when his bike got run over and he races after the bad guys or what about the extra bit on The Bank/Saving AuntMay where Doc Ock gets shot out to the car and Web Slinger Runs for him that little bit. Hey its a exellant Cd but when i was reading a kid story this is what I was reading.
Maked a disc 2 Edition now with all the stuff on the Cd.
where with you mate
Spider Man 1 and 2.......2005-04-06
I think that all scores are good and i just want to say something to you all the (score) are missing somthing.
The extra music like when Peter Parker climbs the wall i thought that Danny Elfman put that in the Scores also plus the TRain And Appreciation they Conduted differently think the Train And Appreciation should be change immediatley becuase it's not used in the movie. If I where Danny Elfman i would of made 2 CD's and the whole lot of on the Cd. The Scores now Are great but its just not complete with the left over music he made. This is Bradley And I Live in OLD AUS Reporting my juggment on this Score it is great but make another Cd with all the stuff on it Please. Ps.
I think Venom Goes Well In Spider-Man 3 and the other Villan The Green Goblin
With a sweeping score Elfman's Spider-Man Soares!.......2005-02-21
Returning to the super-hero genre with a vengeance is Danny Elfman. Spider-Man is the premier Marvel hero, and Elfman gives him the perfect score. Starting quietly, Elfman builds up a crescendo that captures the feeling of Marvel's webhead swinging through the city. Throwing in a rough theme for the Green Goblin and an enjoyable love theme, Elfman creates 45 minutes of enjoyable listening. I have to say that without his music for the Goblin, the movie would have been slightly ridiculous. Overall, Spider-Man is a truly enjoyable score.

What's a woebegone wall-crawler to do? Arachnid-powered superteen Peter Parker's all-too-human foibles are never far from the heart of director Sam Raimi's second installment of the Spider-Man saga, giving it an emotional resonance that sets it smartly apart from its summer blockbuster competition. But while Raimi and star Toby McGuire help emotionally ground the film, its stunning CGI effects -- and this robust, aggressive orchestral score by Danny Elfman -- insure we never forget this is no mere soap opera. The composer returns with a vengeance to the larger-than-life, crowd-pleasing sensibility of his acclaimed work on Batman and its sequel, though he occasionally seasons it with sparing dashes of the post-modern flirtations of his Hulk score. Elfman conjures his formula masterfully, bookending a suitably moody, rhythmically anxious new theme for Dr. Octopus with a brassy reprise of villainy-past on "The Goblin Returns." Though leavened by more emotionally bright passages, it's a score largely dominated by the dark, brooding comic book melodramatics that are the favorite of so many Elfman acolytes. --Jerry McCulley
Customer Reviews:
This is One of Elfman's Best Scores!!!!.......2007-05-09
I really love this cd. ive always wanted to hear the main title from the movie and when i got this cd i was really happy and when i heard it i felt like i was watching the movie again. Elfman is one of my favorite and best composers since John Williams!!! This is a MUST have!!!!
Not the best soundtrack I've heard.......2007-03-09
I own a lot of soundtracks and this is not one of the best. The music is great when the movie is playing but loses something on its own.
Missing some music pieces.......2006-10-14
I decided to buy this CD after wanting a piece played in Spider-Man 2 SO badly. I was furious when I listened to this and didn't find it anywhere. The piece I was looking for was the piano piece during the scene when Peter hugs Aunt May when she's packing. You'd think it would be in 'Ant May Packs' but it's not. It is also missing some other great pieces from the movie. A bit of a let down...
A well Motion Picture Score........2006-02-10
This Orignal Motion Picture score was great becuase of the music that Danny Elfman used on this Cd. I love #1"Main Titles",#2,and I love the Doc Ock theme. I really wish that they would of put in the Pizza Delivery when Peter delivers the pizza's. And when Doc Ock puts his arms up for the first time. But I love this motion picture score soundtrack. It's a great score to listin to. I highly recommend it! And it's a 48 minute soundtrack and the music in the film wasn't all in the soundtrack. But Danny Elfman did an awesome job with this Orignal Motion Picture Score for Spider-Man 2!
great buy .......2006-01-20
this cd is a great buy for spider-man fans because it includes most of the music score but not all. my favorite tracks are track #1 whick the title theme, track #7 which is titled the mugging/peters turmoil peters turmoil is the first 3 minuets and is also the theme when peter says I'm spider-man no more, I also like track #9 which is titled hes back, track #14 which is titled at long last love, and finnaly the classic but annoyingly catchy track #15 which is raindrops keep fallin on my head. other themes on this cd are train/appreciation which is track #10. also there is the track titled the goblins returns which includes a little of the green goblin theme.
