Disappointing soundtrack.......2005-08-08

This CD only plays the original music written for the movie. It doesn't contain "Let Me In" by the Sensations. It doesn't contain the great country swing songs played throughout the film.
The music written by Patrick Doyle is fine but without the other songs, who cares?
Great movie. Nice soundtrack, but, incomplete. Like going to a party and finding there's only your sisters to dance with.
Don't bother buying this cd...

Hopefully this will clear up the confusion for people who keep giving low ratings based on "missing tracks." This CD is the motion picture SCORE. NOT the soundtrack.

YES, THIS DOESN'T HAVE ALL OF THE COWBOY SONGS. SO DON'T BUY THIS ONE FOR THAT REASON. GO TO YOUR COUNTRY WESTERN SECTION FOR THAT STUFF.

THAT WITHSTANDING, PATRICK DOYLE'S WORK HERE IS AN EXCELLENT PIECE OF ORCHESTRATION IN TERMS OF MOVIE SOUND TRACKS. TRACK #21, DEDICATED TO JASMINE THE LION, IS ESPECIALLY ANGELIC AND TRANSCENDING. MANY PIECES ARE GEARED TOWARDS THE SWASH BUCKLING THEMES OF BATTLING THE EVIL SHIEK OR ADVENTURES OF UNCLE HUB AND UNCLE GARTH, WHILE THE MAIN THEME IS ESPECIALLY HEART WARMING AND MAKES YOU FEEL AT HOME, JUST LIKE THE WALTER MAY HAVE FELT IN THE MOVIE.

Found the missing music!!!.......2004-02-16

Like some other listeners i too was disapointed in realizing that some songs were not in the album. Sooooo i looked them up.
That song "Rolling Stone From Texas" (you know, the yodeling one)is in the album of the same title by Don Walser.
This is one great album. I have never heard of this artist but i will buy it. My 12 year old son loves this song. The other songs are great too!

I LOVED the movie and was eargerly awaiting the soundtrack to be released, but found that all the great Texas swing music ("Rolling Stone from Texas" ?) and the tune that was so appropriately played during the salesmen sequence of the movie ("I thought you were my friend" ?)were both missing from this CD. I am very, very disappointed!!!! I still enjoy all of the orchestration and melodies that are available on this disc, but feel that it would have done the CD more justice if the funny tunes were also included....Very disappointed indeed....:(
