2Gether [Soundtrack]
Editorial Reviews

An interrogation into just how ephemeral the ephemeral can be, 2Gether is the soundtrack album of MTV's boy-group parody movie. We're to believe that quintet 2Gether has risen from the ashes of Whoa! (apparently best known for "Rub One Out," included here). Barely straight-faced and musically not bad, 2Gether numbers such as "U + Me = Us (Calculus)" and "Say It (Don't Spray It)" are good for a passing chuckle and little more. Underscoring the CD's flimsiness is its length of 37 minutes, including a remix of "Calculus" and a karoake track for "Rub One Out." Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync fans will go for this one at their own risk. --Rickey Wright

Customer Reviews:
I LUV 2GETHER!.......2004-07-30
I ADORE THE ACTORS WHO PORTRAY THIS ADORABLE "BOY BAND", ESPECIALLY NOAH BASTAIN. IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE MOVIE, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT. IT'S GOT A "BUTT LOAD" OF LAUGHS, AND YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE AT THE SAME TIME. THE SONGS ARE REALLY KOOL 2!
As a parody, it's great!.......2004-04-28
OK, for the people who don't understand (though a lot of you do), the album is a spoof on boy bands. So if the songs aren't phenomenal musically...well, the point is not to make great music. If I was rating this CD on its impact on the music culture and its ability to win grammys, I'd give it one star. Cuz it isn't meant to do that. It isn't meant to be high-quality, classic music. It's supposed to be entertaining and funny, at which it succeedes. Anyone who at one point in time was a teenybopper (oh, and I was a big one) can understand the humor behind these jokes, unless you are kinda crazy obsessive. And people who didn't like them will enjoy having something that they've always thought put into a tangible form (though they'd probably enjoy the movie more, since the music itself is very similar to boy band music, the lyrics are the real difference). On the same note, the people who are grading this and saying, "What a great song! They have great voices!" you guys are also kind of missing the point. In fact, it is really interesting to see how pervasive boy bands are into our culture, in that something spoofing them ends up being popular with the TRL crowd as well. It must be a darn good spoof if it rings so true to life that the teenyboppers start cheering for the spoofers as well as the spoofees.
So I guess my point is- guys, it's a spoof. A joke. A parody. to the people who think the quality of the music sucks, take it for what it is. For the people who think the music is great and the band is oh-my-god so hot, again take the CD for what it is. It is a funny, light-hearted take on a po-culture phenomenon. I always keep it in my car, because it can brighten my day in an instant by making me smile. And despite it's cheesiness, that's worth something, no?
TWO GETHER THEY MAKE GREAT MUSICS.......2003-11-20
THIS SOUNDTRACK BY 2GETHER IS A FIVE STAR JAM AND GREAT TO LISTEN TO. THEIR SECOND ALBUM *2GETHER AGAIN* IS GREAT TOO. THEY SOUND LIKE SOMEWHAT LIKE NSYNC. JAMMING
If all boy-bands were like this, I'd be impressed.......2003-11-07
2Gether was the greatest boy band there ever was. Not only because they made fun of "real" boy-bands, but because they made perverted songs and lured in fans by putting the lyrics to sucky pop music. My favorite songs were:
"Rub One Out" (by Whoa!)- Funniest song on the CD. It talks about spankin' the monkey
"Say It (Don'tSpray It)"- Also funny. The lyrics are also kind of perverted.
"Before We Say Goodbye"- Its a song about wanting to have sex with your significant other before you break up with them.
"You're My Baby Girl"- Basically a song about Jerry's girlfriend, Erin.
The most sincere song on the CD was Q.T.'s solo, "Visualize". It was a beautiful song and would sound like a sweet dedication to a crush.
The 2 songs I did not mention were the weakest ones on the CD. I gave it 4 stars because of them. But overall, it was a great CD. R.I.P. Michael Cuccionne.
Peace!
Come on...It's fun and funny........2002-02-06
First of all you have to have a sense of humor to appreciate what the guys behind this CD are up to. They are poking fun at a phenomenon that has taken the music industry into the next decase. If you don't like it...don't listen.
