Let's face it folks, the movie was the biggest piece of crap most of us have ever seen (even if it was VERY pretty to look at) but the music is a different story. I'll get the second part of the soundtrack review done first by saying that it's (the orchestral portion) really good score material. The music is uplifting, emotional and moody at times. The score is everything it should be. Very Good. All very good. The pop side of the music (the first half) is uneven in quality at times but I still listen to it so that should say something. That side of the CD consists of 8 tracks of some pretty good techno. (It will drive you crazy if you don't like synthetic sound though) I work at a cable tv network and I generally use the disc as background music when I'm in a hurry to program playlists. (Thing Frost decoding files in Blade with the music going, he was focused) Something about it just gets me going. So, the first half? Energizing, mostly. The second half? A very good score, if you like orchestral scores.

Short Review: Great soundtrack if you are into futuristic sounding music that really puts you into the mindset of a teen in the not so distant future. great buy for how cheap it is used/new (0.01, which u can't beat).

Long review:

Well, first off, you must realize, that this soundtrack was meant to make you feel like you were living in the late 21st century, when space travel was a common thing. If you appreciate that, and understand that, then this is really a great soundtrack.
The first 9 songs are really good at making you feel as if you are in a mall during the time of the jupiter two mission, since they are all a type of new age, almost, but not quiet electronica style music that even someone like me, who listens to mostly pop-punk, alternative, hardcore, and punk, can appreciate.
The second have (tracks 9-19) are the actual music tracks form the movie. i wouldn't say these are extremely strong, however, they definitly make u visualize what would be going on in the movie. but this is understandable, since the movie never really focused on the musical score that music (nor did it need to).

Overall, for the price, u can't go wrong. It's a great lil soundtrack, and apart from some of the movie music being a little generic, it's great.

If you were wondering; i bought this soundtrack becuase i have a huge crush on Lacey Chabert in this movie, but soon found out that's its much better than i had expected. (Disclaimer: i am not a creepy 40 year old nerd guy who lives in his basement and attendes stupid comic conventions, i am actually the age Lacey was when she played the role, which was around 16. Just thought i'd let you know).

I'm finally come to the truth, Lost In Space the movie was a huge mistake. I used to only watch it because I had this HUGE crush on Penny Robinson(Lacey Chabert). The soundtrack to the movie was stinky too. Don't even pay a penny for it.
