5 out of 5 stars Music from "Sordid Lives", the movie.......2005-08-03

We used it for a comedy pantomime show to raise money for charity. We were pleasantly surprised at how many people in the audience had seen the movie and loved it. Anyone that liked the movie will enjoy the soundtrack, which includes not only many songs that were played in the background, but also some classic dialog from several scences.

Trashy, camp, bizarre, socially inept and smalltown bigots,all pretty much sums up the characters and storyline of Sordid Lives.

Although at times some characters and storyline would be described as over the top, both are pretty much a portayal and reflection of the world we have lived in and still live in today.

A very refreshing, realistic and somewhat disturbingly humourous movie, that will take you on the ride of your life.

Watch it with your friends over drinks, etc and just watch as the characters become a part of you.

Oh, and Olvia is excellent as trashy Bitzy Mae, a complete departuren from her usual roles.

It is apparent that many of those who failed to garner any enjoyment truely believe ONJ to be Sandra Dee. The minds are so closed that there is an inability find humor directed at non-standard relationships. The lyrical entertainment in "Sordid Lives".

Get away from this soundtrack now unless you are an absolute die-hard Olivia Newton-John fan. It is horrible. When you are used to Olivia's innocence and pure voice, it is just pure nerve wracking to listen to this. When she came out with it's a b**** sortin' out our sordid lives, and you'll probably get a really s***ty prize, that is just when I had to turn it off. This will definatly turn you against Olivia Newton-John unless you are a lover of her to the very end, nomatter what.

If you are a true Olivia Newton John fan, stay away from this CD. In comparison with most of her recordings, Olivia's songs in this album are pretty disappointing. Her participation is not what I would have expected. With the exception of two, the rest of her songs were not recorded in a studio; they were taken from the movie scenes. They are really brief, they have no music arrangements and the sound quality is awful. It is a pity that other artists had been treated better in this CD. Olivia songs sound terrible in comparison. Spare yourself the heartache of listening to Olivia's wonderful voice completely wasted.
