sliver.......2006-01-30
The reason i'm giving it a 4 is because. Carlys song was not the same as it was on the movie. On the movie it had a lot more felling and saddness. The other trackes are really good. I love oh carolina my fish like to dance to it. Pretty good soundtrack except carlys song.
A lost and found classic.......2005-01-13
I remember two things about the movie "Sliver": One--it was one of the stupidest movies I'd ever seen, and two--that the soundtrack was so good it was ALMOST worth watching the whole film just to listen to the tunes contained herein.
People beat their heads against the wall when they heard UB40's version of "Can't Help Falling In Love", but they're a bunch of nitwits. It made it to number one on the strength of the band's interpretation--the original was overdone as it was. I liked it, but this soundtrack offers much more.
Shaggy's "Oh Carolina" was a dancefloor classic and still remains a staple of any self-respecting club. Enigma's bookends "Carly's Song" and the reprise "Carly's Loneliness" represent the band's zenith, and when you throw in Massive Attack's "Unfinished Symphony", you've got a powerhouse album that still holds up.
One of the best soundtracks of the 90s, hands down.
10 Year Old Soundtrack That Still Sizzles..........2003-09-17
Released in '93 while the techno rage was still emerging or going strong some tracks will sound dated...Others still hold their own ground pretty good.UB-40's take on an Elvis classic was blasphemy to die-hard Elvis fans. Plus, the fact it was a video played to death on MTV didn't help matters. But, leave it to UB-40 to give it their special spin with their electronic reggae and horn treatment and make it their own (remember Red, Red Wine?!...the old Neil Diamond classic).
Enigma's hauntingly Sadeness musings on Carly's Song and Carly's Loneliness make the soundtrack worth owning if you don't like anything else on the roster. The bonus is that this special mix for the track was re-mixed for the Enigma album it came off from or was put into (the version found on Cross of Changes cd by Enigma has a more Middle Eastern horn and percussion feel). So, Carly's Song on Sliver is the original or special mix found nowhere else (I prefer this version to the Cross of Changes Enigma album version). Enigma's contribution actually stands out enough to give the soundtrack it's trademark thematic sound and most memorable song !Massive Attack, Neneh Cherry, and Shaggy produced tracks in almost the same suit or vein as Engima's. Quirky but likeable tunes by Fluke, Lords of Acid, and Heaven 17 throw in a sort of 80's retro New Wave/Techno sound while maintaining the early 90's feel (afterall '93 was not too far away from the late 80's). Remaining artists contribute tracks of a more alternative, experimental/industrial rock nature...Where the film failed to make it's box office mark, the soundtrack was more of a sure bet !
Fast Becoming a Cult Classic?.......2001-11-06
I first saw the movie Sliver when I was a junior in high school. My girlfriends and I ended up seeing it four times in the theater. It was dark, lonely, and sexy...a story of awakening female sexuality...perfect for what four teenage Catholic schoolgirls were feeling at the time. The soundtrack was this feeling, made portable. I recently re-descovered it, and it really takes me back. I'm not surprised to learn that there are other people out there who still find this soundtrack as sexy and haunting, although quirky, as the B movie that inspired it.
WOW!.......2000-11-10
If there ever was a cd to play when you want to get someone in bed, this is it. Enigma's contribution make this cd worth every penny. I love the LOA track on it too. This cd makes me want to get very affectionate with someone. Like some very heavy making out. The music really fits the movie well too. You can get the feeling of the movie while you are listening to this. But even if you are just an Enigma fan, you should get this cd cause they have 2 songs here and are just great.

Another Great Music CD!.......2006-05-24
The soundtrack to the Movie hackers was great, Hackers 2 "inspired by" the movie was even better and to my surprise Hackers 3 was even better! Third time's the charm certainly applies to this CD and the series. All three were great and worth purchasing. If you only purchase on of the three though, I'd suggest this one!
'Squeeze - Heaven Knows' Is On The Original 1st Soundtrack.......2005-07-14
To Jack Van Zant and anyone who read his review:
He talkded about the missing song 'Squeeze - Heaven Knows' but you can find that song on the Original 1st Hackers Soundtrack. It's the alst track (Track 14)
Just search it here on amazon.com and you will find it...
Just thought I'd help you out! :P
P.S. Hackers is one of my all-time favourites, and ONE of the reasons why, is because of the excellent music they use...Especially when Dade and Kate (Crash & Burn) start battling it out on The Prodigy's 'ONE LOVE'...AMAZING!
I have the european DVD, so unfortunetely I do not have the 8-page booklet! (Damn!) And the DVD CHEAT (When you can watch an extra GIBSON Animation when you press the LEFT button to highlight the 'Hackers' logo) does not work on my DVD!! :( I can't buy the American one either, because it is Region 1, and even thoug it works on my DVD player, i would rather want all my DVD's to be Region 2 (For respect of my friends' DVD players)
Thank you for reading! :)
missing song.......2004-11-16
the song that is played in the movie while they are in the phone booths is Grand Central Station by Guy Pratt, I'm not sure where you can find it though
Missing song...mystery solved for searcher!.......2003-12-06

Excellent.......2006-09-11
The score to Fluke is one of my all time favorites. The themes are beautiful, and there is a nice balance between the lighthearted pieces and more solem tracks. I can't say I really have a favorite track, as I like the whole CD. This is one of the most least known and underrated soundtracks and it deserves more attention that it's recieved. Very hard to find but definitely worth buying even if it's a bit pricey!
Where can I find this?.......2004-06-17
I love the movie Fluke it's so amazing. I think it reminds me of a lot like What Dreams May Come but that movie sucked and didn't really get to me that much. The Fluke score is really good and breathtaking I really need that soundtrack. The soundtrack is not in stores anywhere. I guess because a lot of people didn't like this movie or something or it wasn't much of a big hit. I'll guess I will get a friend to help me to buy the soundtrack off Amazon or get my mom to help me because I can't find the soundtrack anywhere this sucks but at least I own the movie as well it's good!
Superb storytelling through music; evokes so much emotion!.......2003-11-17
This is by far the best soundtrack in my collection, and possibly the best ever. It is so beautiful and haunting. The movie FLUKE is worthy of the book FLUKE, and the soundtrack is worthy of the movie. In fact, this is--quite interestingly--the first soundtrack I ever bought MORE for the fact that I love its music than for the fact that I love the movie.
The best tracks are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 13, & 18. Definitely a must-have. I listen to this CD all the time. I scoured the world trying to find an available copy, and finally did. It was worth it.
Beautiful, haunting music..........1999-07-17
If I was to choose a favorite CD in my collection, this would definately be it. Carlo Siliotto's beautiful score echos the sadness and mystery of the wonderful film. The music ranges from slow and haunting to blissfully up-beat. There's something to please everyone here. I also highly recommend the movie, if you haven't seen it yet. Both the film and the score always bring tears to my eyes. If you're in the mood for some spirited and moving music, listen to FLUKE.
