True to the Film & True to the Culture.......2005-11-16
This continuously mixed compliation pays homage to the music that fills not only the film but the lovable characters' lives as well. There are a number of memorable quotes from the film sprinkled throughout at appropriate times in the mix that add a lot to the experience.
This soundtrack is very danceable and good for a party. Despite having come out in 1999 (the "Golden Age" of techno) it has stood the test of time well remaining in rotation.
While this mix is laden with techno, do not think for a second that any two tracks have the same 4x4 sound that is truly repetetive. There are only two or three tracks that are so repetetive I don't enjoy them on this compilation of over 40 tracks.
The version of "Under the Water" that's on this disc is the best I've heard. The "We are all together"/"Come Together" sequence at the end is incredibly uplifting and lasts longer than it seems to have in the film. I have sought out original versions of a number of the songs that are on this mix, but have been consistently dissapointed by those versions prefering the remixes used on this soundtrack.
Oh, the joys! Even the lows are high........2004-01-13
Thought you were done with Techno? Well, drop either one of these two CD's into your player of choice and rediscover the beauty and depth of "techno." Oh, it will also take you back to those glorious highs...sample a little of the illicit with this album. Well worth the entry price. Play it in the office and get used to people asking you "Who is that?"
I agree with one of the other reviewers here...Belfast is a beautiful track.
true to the movie.......2003-06-27
One thing I really enjoyed about these cd's is the sound clips from the movie itself. It helps to set the mood for these club songs. If you liked the movie or just like rave style music, then this cd is for you.
Tight, tight, tight!!!!.......2002-08-04
the soundtrack made the movie what it is. although i am a little disappointed in the fact that they left out "last night a dj saved my life" other than that i love it. if you haven't seen the movie yet i would recomend seeing it. i partied until 7am the morning after i saw the movie. what a rush,
peace,
ben
Wow.......2002-06-06
I've just gotten into techno this last year, but I can definitely tell this sound track is AMAZING. Two minutes into the movie, I knew it was my new favorite, and that I needed the soundtrack...It's upbeat, fun, crazy, and just downright amazing.
Fun clips from the movie such as "comedown sermon" add depth to the cd.

Customer Reviews:
An excellent snapshot of UK club life circa 1999.......2000-06-27
I picked up this album a maximum of two days after seeing the movie it accompanies. I was visiting home (the UK) and wanted a reminder of UK club life to take back with me, and I could not have made a better choice. The album is made up of 2 CD's, the first CD a selection of the music and a lot of the more memorable sections of dialogue. This CD is good but for me what makes the album is the second CD, which is a mix by Pete Tong (one of the UKs most influencial DJs)of the tunes featured in or inspired by the movie. For a snapshot of UK club life in 1998-1999 I definitely recommend picking up this album. I have played the 2nd CD to death, it totally transports me back to the clubs in the UK and for its 60+ minutes length I picture myself back there....dancing till dawn. I highly recommend this album.

You Gotta Listen to This.......2007-01-06
The movie is great and so is the soundtrack, If you loved the movie and you loved the sounds from the movie, you gotta listen to this. It's a two disc cd that is almost non-stop sound euphoria...notice how i said almost. Some songs are Latin house or branches off Latin, i not knockin Latin music, it just it's not my gig nor is their anything like that in the movie???
I do love the sound bites from the movie...."go on my son".
