No surprises here: Teaching Mrs. Tingle, the black comedy from director-writer Kevin Williamson, follows closely in the demographic footsteps of his previous project, Dawson's Creek. And the soundtrack for Tingle? It's filled with bittersweet love songs from Eve 6, Tara MacLean, Sozzi, Kendall Payne, and the Moffatts. Fans of this sort of youthful earnestness (or the Dawson's Creek soundtrack) will be in bliss, the rest of us might want to pass on this disc. --Jason Verlinde

Sorry - great choice to start the CD with, couldn't have been forgotten, and will not.5/5
tongue tied - a punk rock tune to give you energy, one of Eve 6's standard.5/5
if i fall - the first real love song of the CD,became one of my favorites since the beginning till now.5/5
till i cry you out of me - really good song, too bad Sozzy didn't last.5/5

i shut down - loved it the first time i heard,i wish i heard more songs from him.5/5
fall at your feet - don't know if i loved it right a way,but love it now,a gorgeous love song from a really good band.5/5
show me - just love the song, and that will never change,as for her album,A cheap and evil girl.5/5
alibi - didn't liked it first but love it now,but i admit it's not Duncan's best one.5/5
misery - liked it before, not mutch, but learned to appreciate it and now like it very much.4.5/5

This soundtrack is wonderful, I love every song on it which is uncommon for most soundtracks. Sorry by Stretch Princess is so amazing... I absolutely love this soundtrack and it's well worth buying. If you like mellow, laid-back songs this CD is what you are looking for!

5 out of 5 stars Sorry for you if you don't have this.......2002-07-20

A great soundtrack.A great movie and a great Katie Holmes. The movie has the best love songs ever.

The best song of the album is Sorry, by Stretch Princess. That song is just awesome!, the background music and the singer's voice sounds perfect.

This is defenitily a must-have.The ending of the movie is perfect, 'cause it has Sorry beeing played in the back.

FINAL GRADE: A-(9)

5 out of 5 stars A start-to-finish CD.......2001-06-04

This CD is addicting. It will stay in your player for months and for good reason; it includes a wide spectrum of genres and tempos. Every song on it is great, from Tara MacLean's "If I Fall" to Eve6's "Tongue Tied." "Sorry" by Stretch Princess and "I Shut Down" by Eman are two other highlights. Get this CD! You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Totally awesome.......2001-05-21

This soundtrack is so cool! Every track on here is totally awesome! I love "Sorry" by Stretch Princess, and "Tongue Tied" by Eve 6. "Misery" by The Moffats rocks! There is not a bad song on this album. In fact, it's my favorite soundtrack of all time! I'd give each song a 10/10, and I would highly recommend it. Just put it in your player and enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT play on character themes!.......2001-06-10

As a true, loving collector of film scores, I found this one to be all in a class of its own. John Frizzell has masterfully created this score with a colorful myriad of thematic themes that are consistant throughout the entire film, and play against eachother in times of conflict. I especially love the "Mrs. Gulch" type theme for Mrs. Tingle. It truly conveys her villanous persona. Another one of my favorites tracks is number 8, "My Mom Has Been Very Sick". I love the way this "bleeding-heart", mournful, theme emphesizes the "pity-seeking" story that Jo Lynn tells Mrs. Tingle her in order to "patch" things up, and convince Mrs. Tingle not report them to the principle for cheating. This themes almost has a "sarcastic" feel to it.

My only dissapointment with the audio soundtrack CD it, is that there some score cues that were contained in the original film itself, but, for some reason or other, where extracted in this making of this album. Example, when Mrs. Tingle finds out the exam answer sheet in Leigh Ann's back pack, she goes straight to the principals office. The film cuts to Molly Ringlwald is deeply caught up in reading a romance novel. In the film, a wonderfully "Romeo-Juliet" theme plays in the background. These theme is then trampled upon with Mrs. Tingles theme cutting right through it as she walks into the principals office.

Other than this, I am totally pleased with it, and would highly recomend it to any lover of films scores

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good cd........2000-10-13

I loved "Teaching Mrs Tingle",so when I saw the score I just had to have it.I was not dissapointed at all,in fact I was glad I bought it.John Frizzell does an excellent job scoring "Teaching Mrs. Tingle",he made it a very suspenseful score. My favorite song is "Destiny".My other favorite song is "Triumph".The only song I don't care for is "The incident at school".

Overall, this is a good cd that is worth your time and money, even though it's only 30 minutes long.Enjoy!!

3 out of 5 stars Very nice orchestration.......2000-07-24

This album is great mostly due to the "wicket" and "sneaky" orchestral mood that it portrays. This is a great orchestral work, and I find it very relaxing, however very traumatic at times as well. The last track, "Triumph" has a very nice theme to it, and does a great job of showing the composers creativity. However, it is only a minute long. I would have enjoyed more tracks like the last one, but a lot longer in duration. Anyhow, if you are interested in good scores, or a collector, go with this album. It holds its own, and clearly shows the promise for a great score composer.
