Customer Reviews:
Cool Music to spy by.......2007-05-06
MARVELLOUS music to spy by is simply fantastic and brings back wonderful memories of the two hit series, 'The Saint' and 'Secret Agent' or 'Danger Man'. I particularly like track 14, "High Wire", the evocative theme from Danger Man. Played with the harpsichord, it brings to mind immediately, the sleek BOAC jet taking off and landing in some exotic locale bringing ultra cool, suave and urbane John Drake of MI6. Danger Man arrives to embark on yet another perilous and spine chilling mission to fight and thwart the malevolent enemies of the Crown. Patrick Mcgoohan played Danger Man perfectly with the cool professionalism and wry humour that experienced Spooks project. Danger Man always kept his skills and capabilties well concealed in true clock and dagger style untl the right moment to unleash them to their greatest effect. The Saint theme written by the suthor himself, half Chinese Leslie Charteris is another delight to hear with its eerie and mystical melody. ENJOY! By Dr. Michael Lim The Travelling Gourmet who is a renowned Travel, Food & Wine Writer/Editor in Asia.
BRITISH CULTURE AT ITS BEST.......2006-03-16
It is a pity that there are not more cd's like this in the market today. Most of the British TV series have amazing soundtracks (especially these one from the late 60'S and 70's).Remember "THE AVENGERS","THE PERSUADERS","THE PROTECTORS" and the list is long enough. And nobody cares to produce compilations of the original scores and melodies that you could hear at these series..
You will love "THE SAINT/SECRET AGENT" cd.A great example of "HOW THE LOUNGE MUSIC SHOULD BE"...A great example of simply GREAT MUSIC.
Excellent.......2004-07-04
Since purchasing the record albums in the sixties I have never tired from listening to these two excellent soundtrack albums,Music From Secret Agent(Dangerman) and Music From The Saint. What a treat having both these ablums on one CD. Being an advid fan of both Saint and Secret Agent series this album is a marvelous addition to anyones collection. I believe some of the best TV soundtracks were made in the the 1960's. The only complaint I have is the fact that the albums featured on this CD
are to short in duration. There must be other compositions from both programs. I find the albums music authentic to the TV programs represented. I would strongly suggest that you purchase this album. The tragedy is that these ablums are only featured for a short period of time and afterwards almost impossible to find.
