Enjoyable CD.......2005-01-12
I must confess that it I felt kinda weird purchasing this particular CD never having even watched a SINGLE episode of this series but after hearing about the Slayers series I decided to check out this soundtrack that I found at a local music store. I have to say that I really enjoyed listening to the music even though I do not have any context for the varied musical cues. Most of the tracks are instrumental but it also includes the unique theme song for the season plus remixes of it and two other vocal songs one of which also has a remixed version of it. "Fair Wind" is one of the coolest vocal songs included on the CD. Most of the instrumental music reminded me of the music composed for "Record of Lodoss Wars," another series for which I own some of music. Some of the first few tracks of the CD kind of reminded me of the music from Pokemon and "Smile Your Troubles Away" is a fun "slapstick" track. Much of the rest of the music is darker and more has a more "epic" feel to it. Not having seen the series, let alone the 3rd season of the series, I don't know how closely the music fits with the show but I think that it is quite enjoyable by itself. Recommended.

Best of Slayers.......2005-03-30
I honestly believe this is the best of all Slayers BGM soundtracks. This is the music that most reminds me of the series and, I believe, is even used in Slayers Try in some places. I completely conveys the emotions at the end of the series, from some comedy, to sheer doom, to loss and, eventually, a happy ending. All in all, this is easily my favorite of the Slayers soundtracks. Highly recommended for any fan of the series.
Slayers Next: Sound Bible 3.......2002-05-14
i love this Cd. I am a bit biased cause im a Slayers fan, the Cd is jammed with the background music plus a couple vocal songs. I can jus picture Lina as the Lord Of Nightmares as i lisen to this ^_^
A great CD for a great series.......2001-02-07
Looking for a quality anime soundtrack to add to your collection? You can't get much better than this one! Slayers NEXT Sound Bible III consists of 20 tracks...unfortunately only 4 of which are vocals (which is why this CD only gets 4 stars). Still, the instrumentals are very catchy and set a wonderful mood. The vocal tracks, however, are almost worth the price of the CD by themselves.
"Alone" sung by Touma Yumi [Sylphiel] is a bittersweet, but very beautiful love ballad. Matsumoto Yasunori [Gourry] gives an amazing performance in his song "Uso no Nai Game" (which, if it were in English, would literally make him a superstar). "Secret - Dareka No Message" by Ishida Akira [Xelloss] is a cute song with a surprisingly tender message of love to a secret someone. And "Brave Souls," an English remix of the Slayers NEXT opening "Give A Reason," simply rocks. Astute Slayers fans will note that the singer is none other than the Lord of Nightmares!
Megumi fans beware...Slayers NEXT Sound Bible III has NO tracks by the great Hayashibara Megumi. However, if you're looking for an anime soundtrack to a great series, this CD is definitely for you.
Mediocre CD........2000-08-12
This CD was OK. I was really hoping for some of the catchy themes [vocal] that are usually seen in Slayers Next. Most of the music [16 tracks of it] was just background music from the series.
Although good, these did not please me as well as some vocals by Megumi Hayashibara would have. I was expecting more or less more M.H. songs.
Infact, there were NO vocals from the series. I was hoping the wonderful opening and closing would be on there. The only thing that came partially close was the "Give a reason" remix intitled "Brave souls" at the very end.. tho' it was in English, and that made it almost unbareable, seeing as how I've watched the subtitled tapes since the beginning.
All-and-all it's got a nice cover, layout, and booklet inside, but it's not a Megumi Hayashibara CD, as the season is sung by pretty much just her, but instead it's just a musical enjoyment.
This rules ! ^_____^.......2000-07-01
A great CD for a more-than-great series. Like the other Sound Bible, it contains background musics (BGM) and songs from the series. Both are wonderful. According to me, the song "Alone" (track 01) by Yumi Tohma, very beautiful and emotional, which is my favorite, is the best of the CD, but they rock all. Even if you don't know Slayers, and even if you don't like anime, I'm sure you will enjoy the CD.

As fun to listen to as the movie is to watch........2003-08-06
This is a rich collection of music ranging from classical motifs to modern pop with a dash of what could be called theme park music. The vocal tracks are all in Japanese and are all great pieces in my opinion.
The tracks are put together in an odd way in that almost half of the tracks seem to be divided into two songs each. They start off as one thing and switch to something else after a few seconds pause in the middle of the track. The result is you end up with more music pieces as these breaks only occur in the non-vocal tracks.
Another thing to note is that a lot of the music pieces revisit the first track in feel. This helps hold the overall album together as one piece with many parts as opposed to just a collection that feels thrown together.
The overall collection is very easy to listen to and ranges from fun and light to moving and emotionally charged.
I don't have the track listings in front of me but I am listening to it as I write this.
Of note (in my opinion) are the following tracks:
#1 is a moving piece in the classical genre with both fast and slow movements.
#2 is a great vocal song more in the pop genre with a engaging chorus.
#6 and #11 are what I would call a theme park tunes - they are short and fun.
#8 is a revisit to #1 but breaks away into something soft and light.
#10 is an electric pop vocal mix.
#19 is the closing theme to the movie and another great vocal track.

Slayers rocks!.......2002-11-10
I absolutely LOVE the music from Slayers! I'm a big Megumi fan too! She rocks! And Get Along is my fave song. A lot of these songs are so upbeat thats why I love them. I highly reccomend this! ^^
Please get some more slayers music. pleasepleaseplease.......2001-11-03
Me and my big brother REALLY enjoy the slayers and we want to buy their soundtrack, but we can't do that until you order some more in. Please get some.
A great buy for any Slayers fan!.......2001-02-07
"Slayers" has become a classic anime series because, unlike most anime titles set in fantasy worlds, "Slayers" never takes itself too seriously. Combine that sense of mockery with a cast of memorable characters and fantastic music (including vocals by some of Japan's best-known idol singers), and you've got something to watch!
"The Slayers: Etcetera 1" is a collection of background music, themes, image songs, and drama tracks from the first season of "Slayers." The subtitle for this album is "Lina Inverse goes today, too!" And after you here this music, you'll want to go and join Lina's party of roaming heroes!
Track one is "Get Along," the series' opening theme sung by Masami Okui and Megumi Hayashibara. BGM tracks make up songs 2-6, 8-10, 12-15, and 18. Lina's memorable image song "Sleepless Nights" (track 11), as well as two drama selections (tracks 7 and 16), are also included. The last vocal piece on the CD is the ending theme "Kujikenaikara!" sung by Megumi Hayashibara and Masami Okui.
One of the things that makes this CD so interesting is the format of the BGM tracks; many of them are strung together to invoke a certain mood instead of being left alone in the "standard" 90-second instrumental.
Honestly, there aren't alot of non-instrumental pieces on this CD (which is why this CD only gets 4 stars, as opposed to 5). But that's no reason not to pick up "Slayers: Etcetera 1." If you love the "Slayers" series, you'll adore this CD!
Dragon Slave!.......2000-07-08
This cd was definatly worth the wait I had to wait. This cd had awsome vocals and wonderful BGM. Even though I would think it would be better with more vocals, the 3 vocals they have on it are just as good. Most of the songs on this cd are short and simple and last no more than 1-3 min. The vocals on it are longer. These songs are only from the first series of Slayers even though some of the BGM can be heard in other series. They made a mistake with the title calling it Slayers Next:Bible 1 it is actually called Slayers Excellent 1.This cd was really good and it still is when I listen to it in fact you have a hard time pulling me away from my head phones ^_^ I definitly think anyone who loves the Slayers or just good music should order this. Getting this cd has made me order other Slayers cd's which I can't wait to get! ^.~
Dragon Slave!.......2000-07-08
This cd was great! I love the vocals and BGM although I would like it if it would have more vocals which is why I rated it with only four stars. But even with only 3 vocals it's still an awsome cd, a must buy! I listen to it nearly every day and have the songs practicly memorized even if they are in Japanese. Oh yeah if you don't like to listen to Japanese then you shouldent get it. Plus these songs are only from the first series of Slayers.Plus it's not really called Slayers Next: Sound Bible 1 (that was a mistake I think) It's actually called Slayers Excellent 1. I loved this cd and have ordered others! This is a really good cd ^.~
