Product Description
This is the first release from a new specialist soundtrack label, Redemption Records, who also provide a music supervision and music clearance service to the film industry. (Not to be confused with the old dance label in the Midlands also called Redemption. For ease and avoidance of doubt, we are officially called Redemption Records UK Ltd.) Many thanks.

Following on from Ska Films' Hugely Successful Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, Came Producers Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn's Latest Meaningful Movie Event Starring Vinnie Jones; Mean Machine also Stars Jason Statham and the Late David Hemmings. Like the 1974 Original which Starred Burt Reynolds, Mean Machine is Set in a Prison. Our Hero Vinnie Plays Disgraced England Soccer Star Danny Meehan who Ends Up Getting Nicked for Taking Bribes. What Follows is Not Just About Football, It's About Pride Itself!Customer Reviews:
Not a good overall value, but a good soundtrack nevertheless.......2003-01-21
The CD does contain some excellent singles, that complement the movie suitably. "Strings for Yasmine," "Big Buildup," "Right Proper Charlie," and "Wings" are the most noteworthy tracks, and the reason I purchased the album. The other singles, altough good choices for the movie, are dated. For instance, "Carnaval de Paris" was from the 1998 World Cup in Paris. The excellent soundtracks (e.g. The Saint, The Beach, Go, etc.) contain singles that were done specifically for the movie, contain new renditions of older songs, or have songs whose release dates preceded the movie by one year. If a soundtrack doesn't contain "new" material, chances are that the consumer already listens to the tracks on other albums. I already own the Dreadzone album that contains "Captain Dread."
Purchase this CD if you are vacillating between the "Mean Machine" DVD and its soundtrack. The import price and long wait for delivery puts a big dent in the overall value of the album, but shouldn't detract from the good quality of songs on it.
exiting!.......2002-10-11
