Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Haunting Score.......2003-06-25

I tried to find the soundtrack to The Good Son way back when I first saw the movie but had no luck. I believed there was no soundtrack CD released. Then, thru a random search, I found it right here on amazon. How cool!

Elmer Bernstein's wonderful music was the best thing about this otherwise mediocre movie. The innocent yet haunting piano cue that opens the movie reflects the mysterious evil behind Macauley Culkin's apparent innocence. It really is a beautiful tune that provokes images of lost childhood and sadness. And as it evolves this theme stirs up bigger emotions when the strings come in to play.

And for those of you who have Bernstein's rejected score for Last Man Standing you might notice a striking similarity between tracks 13 and 18 of this CD and track 8 of Last Man Standing. It's exciting music that will definitely rouse you. Tho it's a shame this CD is not so widely available. Try hard to find it as it's seriously one for keeps.
