The Pink Panther Strikes Again was the second PP film of the '70s to reunite original Inspector Clouseau Peter Sellers and writer/director Blake Edwards after a decade long hiatus (1968's Inspector Clouseau featured Alan Arkin in the title role and Bud Yorkin in the director's chair). The wacky plot of this entry involves the very demented ex-Chief Inspector Dreyfus's scheme to both destroy his nemesis Clouseau and take over the world into the bargain. Deliberately structured as a spoof of the Bond films and involving some of the wildest comic shenanigans of the PP series, PPSA was a world-wide box office success. Sadly, Sellers starred in only further PP film, 1978's Revenge of the Pink Panther, before his untimely death in 1980
