Awesome soundtrack, great CD........2005-10-31
As you know this movie is a scary one, this movie supposed to put some unexpected scary effect in it. Every track in it is unique, no matter how you play it. What I feel is very tense, scary and of course, great. This is quite a good soundtrack as you guys listen to it, you must feel tense, mystery and scary effect which will feel maybe shaking. So, it is recommended to get this effective and awesome CD.
Very effective soundtrack.......2005-05-23
This is yet another well rounded addition to the John Ottman collection. His abbility to capture the atmosphere of the moment on this soundtrack is amazing! There is nothing farmiliar about this one because it is new and unique in the way it is put together and conducted. The eerie tracks are what really makes this soundtrack. "Paris Get's it", and "Curiosity Kills" are two of the many effective tracks on this cd. Buy it and see for yourself!
Another Winner for Ottman.......2005-05-17
I personally enjoyed this soundtrack greatly. I love John Ottman's style and manipulation of instruments to get the specific effect he is looking for. His use of choral voices, celesta, and organ tie the score together very well. I have not seen the movie and don't really have any desire to see it, but when I heard Ottman was going to be scoring it, I counted down the days until the release. This is a great soundtrack to listen to because it comes off sounding like a modern Bernard Herman score from the Hitchcock movies. I'm not saying it is exactly like a Herman score, but if you like that kind of feel, this score is full of modernized versions of the same characteristics. I hope I've been of some help, and if you get the soundtrack, enjoy!!!

Good music, but what does it have to do with House of Wax?.......2007-06-17
Right from the first track "Spitfire", I wondered what on Earth the song had to do with a house of wax, or with the movie at all. The only lines are "If i was in world war II they'd call me spitfire' and 'cause you know that I can'. Only lyrics in the whole song. And they have nothing to do with the movie at all. The only song that I believe is fitting is "I Never Told You What I Do For a Living" by My Chemical Romance (btw - luv these guys--Gerard is HOTT), which is pretty descriptive of the movie. The Joy Division looks like it was just stuck in there so people would look at the soundtrack and go "Oh, wow, Joy Division -- I'll get it because they're on it"
The rest of the bands, except for the Deftones, MCR, and JD of course, really don't possess much talent at all. Stutterfly sounds like a rip-off of Hawthorne Heights. The others are just weird wannabes.
That's my review. Peace.
I don't own it and this is why..........2006-10-18
"Helena" by My Chemical Romance...
I really didn't like it or them when I first heard. The song slowly grew on me as I saw the very end of this movie over a friend's house... A year later, I decided to watch the whole thing partially because My Chemical Romance had slowly made me love them and that song.
This soundtrack sucks because there could never ever be a more appropriate song than "Helena" as a theme to this movie. It is not included on the soundtrack. Buy their CD, or download the song; either way, it's the best song for the movie, lyricswise and soundwise.
A decent soundtrack for an okay movie.......2006-08-07
I was quite surprised with this soundtrack. When you have a below average movie, you generally expect a below average soundtrack. I mean, I only watch 'House of Wax' to see Chad Michael Murray running around. So when I got this soundtrack from a friend I had very low expectations, but I was pleasently surprised.
While the soundtrack is not one of the greatest I've ever heard, it has a good flow which makes it an easy listen. There are no 'bad songs' or slow points that really make you want to skip a track. It's mixed well with the stand out songs (including Prodigy's "Spitfire" & Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades") placed in what seems certain intervals throught the album, helping to keep the listeners interest.
So, while it's not a great soundtrack, it is actually pretty decent. I'd recommend giving it a listen.
to the one asking what happened to the paris stipping song.......2006-05-18
The cd is great loved the movie and chad michael murray rocks!!!
Anyway the band is called "Brothers Conti" it's a great tune!
What the............2006-01-13
How can you put a Joy Division song on a crappy movie? Not only that but on the same cd as that popular "wanna be goth band" Chemicale Romance?! Joy Division is often labeled as goth music (I am not goth myself), but it is an insult to the memory of Ian Curtis to have one of Joy Division's best songs on a crappy cd with other no talent bands. My only favorite band besides Joy Division would be the Deftones and Minerva is a nice track. So if for some odd reason you want to have this cd in your collection it would be because of these two tracks. I mean c'mon Chemical Romance??? Thats happy music compared to Joy Division.
