All Over Me: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack [Soundtrack]

When a soundtrack is done exactly right, the music captures the film's mood, both before and after the movie. All Over Me's soundtrack is just that kind of collection. The film about a young girl's tender and troubled coming out process in the unforgiving streets of New York City's Hell's Kitchen districts, finds the lead actress (Alison Folland)'s many moods surrounded and enhanced by the brilliant Geraldine Fibbers' "Dragon Lady", the desperate "Descent" by relative unknowns Remy Zero, and a handful of riot grrl favorites including Sleater-Kinney's "I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone" and Ani DiFranco's "Shy". The perfect emo-mix of music, All Over Me is exactly balanced between artists you know and love and artists you will grow to love. --Denise Sheppard

Perfect.......2003-08-22
This Soundtrack brings back the feeling that I had when I first watched the movie.. Emotional, Aggression, Angst.. it's all here.. I tend to skip past the weird disco song.. it fits in the movie but.. not the CD. If you liked the movie, you'll love the soundtrack.. If you like any of the artists you'll most likely like them all (Ani, L7, The Murmurs etc.)
A Good Mix of Great Songs.......2003-06-21
Any soundtrack containing Babes in Toyland, Helium, Geraldine Fibbers, Murmurs, Sleater-Kinney, Drugstore, and Patti Smith is fine by me. Some of the best songs from these bands are on this soundtrack. The movie was good too.
Best soundtrack EVER!!!!.......2001-10-12
Ok the only reason I gave this 5 stars is because I couldn't give it 10. Not only does it have great tracks from great bands like Sleater-Kinney, Babes in Toyland, and the Geraldine Fibbers, but it has new versions of songs from Tuscadero, and 12 Rounds(my favorite is 12 Rounds "Somethings Burning"..a really rough guitar oriented version). Mary timony(Helium) also adds a track not available on any Helium disc, and if you like the Murmurs leisha not only plays a big part in the movie but adds a track that I cant find anymore from Pristine Smut. If your into Riot Grrl stuff you just can't live without this!! It's just great!!!
Makes you cry... And squeal with joy........1999-04-22
This soundtrack is perfect. Perfect. Perfect for the ancient Volvo-driving high school/college crowd who saw the movie and loved it. You know what? You probably have all the songs anyway, but you still need the album, because the way they're assembled is perfect-- for taking your rusting Geo Metro for a drive in the country with your new flame.
Emotional Riot-Grrl Magic.......1998-07-29
This album perfectly captures the emotional state of the movie. From rock anthems such as Ani Difranco's "Shy" to quasi-folk of the Murmurs, this is the album you'd have on repeat while throwing away the belongings of your ex.
