Get On The PJ's, Warm Up Some Tea, and Turn the Lights Down Low.......2007-04-01
This soundtrack to a racing game a decade old will not be what anyone will expect. The tracks range from the calm and relaxing to funky guitar rifts, but these aren't ear drum busters, nor head banging tunes... these are for the ladies. Ok, Ok, maybe not but if you have some down time, want to read a book, and kick off your shoes this is the CD to do it to. Doesn't matter if you played the game or not, the music will speak for itself. Never mind the price tag, buy it, put it in your CD player and turn it on mellow.
r4 soundtrack review.......2005-07-09
What can I say about this soundtrack that hasn't already been said? All the tracks are extremely tight, but 'Move Me' and 'Lucid Rhythms' stick out for me. Basically, I love the actual Ridge Racer Type 4 video game partly because the music was so good, so I had to buy the soundtrack so I could really drive to these beats. I think the reason I like this soundtrack so much is because it's so varied in its musical genres. There's some rock, some pop, some jazz, some techno and it really sneaks up on you. When I played the game I didn't anticipate the music to be decent--let alone blow my mind. If you love music or driving to music, then I recommend the Ridge Racer Type 4 soundtrack. I also recommend the soundtracks to Katamari Damacy and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
Blows my mind!!.......2004-05-18
I use to play this game all time just for the music and at that time, I didn't know anything about Game Music until this game came out. After playing quick games here and there, I started noticing the music, particulary, Pearl Blue Soul and Motor Species. It's pure driving music.A totally different experience from Conventional Music that you listen to on the road. Namco really put it down with this soundtrack. 25 songs of different music, depending on your mood. It's one of my favorite CD's and I listen to it all the time!! Buy it!! You won't regret it!! :)
I love this music especially Naked Glow.......2004-01-14
Ok, I've rented this game once (I wasn't into game music back then) and I liked it. When I bought the game, I payed attention to the music (and that menu music sounds like club music, that means I like it) and loved the music so much my eyes was off the road (of course I lost). So when I was on the internet looking up codes (as usual) it said that you can play this music on the CD Player (maybe the demo disc). When I tried nothing happened so I looked on CDNow (the best place for gaming music) I saw the CD and I screamed my head off.
How Unique.......2003-07-18
Although the Soundtrack of R4 is little known to others then the Final Fantasy soundtrack series, I still have to say that this soundtrack is one of a kind...unique...
I first started playing this game back 3 year ago when my cousin brought a fake copy from his friend back home for his PS...At first, I wasn't concentrating on what the music was all about in this game. But after the third day of playing...the music...I saw the intro vedio to R4. The music came out with a blast in my mind as I watched the intro vedio, "Urban Fragment," With the Keyboard starting and vibes starting out and the lyrics, it blew my breathe away. After playing more cause I wanted to hear the music, I discoverd that much of the tracks in the game blew my head of. Not only Urban Fragment was a masterpeice, but the rest of the tracks as well, so many combonation....so many......All 25 tracks has its own uniqness....
I decided to tape it on the tape recorder...I put the speakers to Maximum...and had the tape recorder ready. Dissapointment came when i dicoverd the lack of clearence and sound quality. As you can see i was obbsessed with the music. I bought mine few months ago..(thanks to the miracle of "Internet") and I loved it.
When I was in Mt Fuji, Japan....I would pop this CD into my Dad's car....looking outside the scenery....this track brings the intimate feeling. (makes a good driving music)
The Technoish-jazzy feel with a combonation of, fusion, Acid Jazz, lounge and vibes etc. It gave me a diffent aspect to what Techno can bring. The Namco team pulled it off...they spent so much time on the project, and needless to say, they didn't waste there bullets.
P:S. I would not compare it to the Final Fantasy seris soundtrack on Mr. Uematsu's project becasue this album cannot be compared....it's two differnt syles......2 great styles of music.
