If you love Eric's movie sound tracks and are looking for more of his instrumental work, you're not going to find it here. Yes the music itself does hint at some of the styles of instrumentation, beats, and melodies that he brings to his film score work. But if I had heard this CD without knowing who the artist was, I never would have made the connection to any of his sound tracks. At least not until the very last cut which I would have instantly recognized as being from "The Fifth Element". :-)

Bottom line, if you enjoy progressive rock in general, you may well enjoy this CD. But if you're looking for more of his instrumental works, look elsewhere.

This CD rocks! From the start it has unique touch of rock, alternative rock, prograssive rock, eastern sounds and amazing voice (the fifth element... ;)).

If peter gabriel can hear me: THIS is what you should have come "UP" with, but what goes "UP", must come down.. And Eric Serra even has a voice almost matches Peter's !

If you liked "Little Light of Love," this is worth a listen........1999-01-02

If you liked Fifth Element's "Little Light of Love" then this is certainly worth a listen. I think there are some really good songs here, and a few really mediocre ones too. Eric's movie soundtrack material, Peter Grabriel-ish Rock, and Middle Eastern rhythms/melodies were all thown together into a blender and the result is R.X.R.A. Nourith (the female singer from "Little Light of Love") appears in four tracks; check her out in "Anybody Hello!"

A must for all Eric Serra fans.......1998-09-04

This album is an excellent extension of Eric Serra's film soundtrack work. He also has an excellent singing voice, very similar to Peter Gabriel. It has a wonderful maturity for what I believe is a debut studio album. If you are into Marillion, Peter Gabriel or the likes this is well worth a listen.
