Great family-safe comedy.......2007-05-31

It is difficult to find comedy that can be played with the kids in the room/car that is both funny and understood by all in listening range. I highly recommend this artist.

Brian is an outstanding comedian. Very clean with exception of using the "H" word occasionally. He finds humor in real-life events and experiences. The content is funny enough, but his presentation adds considerably to the humor.

A well earned PG 17!.......2006-07-09

Great fun- but not for kids. It is tempting to let teenagers watch this because this person has done alot of kid-flicks. But this is naughty... For the adult there are too many expletives and it is off-setting at first but his work is so funny that the offensiveness of the language just sort of wears off. If you are looking for a car ride CD this is totally worth the money because it has a bonus CD that is a mix of 3 minute bits from across the country. We recommend you look for a used copy because it is so old. If you are buying for your personal library the DVD has a lot more interactions because of how many of his jokes are slapstick and his facial expressions are classic. Robin is a comic genius at work and will not disappoint long term fans. He remains Zany, unpredictable, a roaming idiot that is also ridiculously smart and well informed throughout the CD and the DVD.

The CD complement to Robin Williams' hilarious Live 2002 DVD is not as slick as the visual counterpart, but it still contains an amazing amount of material. Robin covers every topic from Winston Churchill to golf, offering hilarious insight into world that is (World Cup Soccer) and the world that was (Jesus & the disciples).

If you're wondering if you should buy this INSTEAD of the Live 2002 DVD, I'd rule against it. Although I believe this would be wonderful for someone who's looking for a good comedy album to accompany him on a long car drive (like me). There's also some great material on here that's not present on the DVD. In any case, it would be hard for me to give this anything other than 5 stars.

Hilarious.......2005-03-30

There is not one minute on this album without a million laughs. The energy and brilliance of this guy shines through. Yes, there is profanity, but that is fine; the comedy wouldn't work if he said, "Oh, fudge golly gee darn" all the time. You will have to gasp for air every time you listen to this because you will be laughing so hard. Buy it!!!

Surprising retro to his older days.......2004-05-21

My initial response to this CD was of relative shock at the amount of profanity on these discs, but in comparing it to other albums he's made in the past, Robin has always cursed often in his standup; it's just been awhile since he was on tour. With all of the serious and children-oriented roles he's taken in the last ten years or so, it's easy to forget how he got started.

All that being said, he hasn't lost the touch at all! I found that I was laughing despite myself at several points, and in awe of the raw amount of energy he still has. His format has not changed much, either, as he skewers politicians, terrorism, celebrities, and silly American practices and vanities.

The double disc format is a good one, as the listener gets a feel for the different crowds and cities that were played to over the course of the tour.

I thought the jokes were great on this album, but it falls apart somewhere near the end, probably when he gets in on the subject of Viagra. Maybe it worked better as a visual gag (haven't seen the DVD yet), but as audio alone it was lame. The regional jokes on Disc 2 were okay, but his rap song "The Grim Rapper" did nothing for me. So overall, the album was just middling, and nowhere near as solid as his "A Night at the Met" album from the late '80s.

Why he is not on the Blue Collar tour I don't know, maybe because he's too busy with his own schedule. If you like the old Good Ol' Boys from the BC tour, you'll find Rodney to fit right in, and maybe even Blue'r!!

Laugh Out Loud.......2005-09-24

This is the first Rodney CD I owned and if it isn't his best, it is a close second (to "Hanging With Rodney" his first CD). Great to listen to on road trips or anytime you are in the mood to really laugh. This is the same guy on the TV show "Rodney" where you can see some of his tamer material on network TV. One of the best comedy CDs ever.

Not his best, but still good........2001-12-20

Unlike his first CD, which was great, this one seems rushed. The material wasn't quite complete. Still though a good effort, and a good listen.

Can you say "F---ing Hilarious"?.......2007-07-08

This is one of the funniest comedy shows I've every heard. I love that Ray Romano doesn't need to have a potty mouth to be funny! His timing is as always impeccable. My personal favorites are the bits on turning 40 (aka the prostate exam!) and Olestra (I have since introduced "anal leakage" into my social vocabulary). We want more!

Great CD with dreadful sound quality.......2007-07-04

Ray Romano is a talented guy, but the sound guy for this CD needs to go back to college, the sound quality is very poor and to actually put something like this on sale is a disgrace. I give it five stars for Mr. Romano afterall Everybody Loves Raymond, but buy this disc at your own risk, I wish I had spent my money on a Season of the show not this disc. Not that you need to Ray, please make another CD.

Good comedy, lousy recording.......2007-01-30

The previous reviewer hit it on the head -- the lone problem with this CD is in how it was recorded. Ray's voice bounces between being loud, as if he's right at the mike, to softer, as if he's set back a few steps demonstrating something. The crowd noise also changes periodically, with the laughter sometimes being as loud as Ray. This makes it difficult to listen to the CD in the car without playing with the volume.

That being said, I really enjoyed this CD and listen to it periodically. Some of the routines remind you of Ray's character on his show, but some of it is not for kids' ears. It's not because of language -- although the first track contains the only curse on the CD, the F*** word -- but it's more because of some of the topics around his kids and their diapers, or his twins ability to...well.. just listen on your own first.

Super Funny, but one problem.......2006-11-10

Ok so I say its super funny then only give it 4 stars. Thats because the jokes are great. I have listened to it so many times in the car and I still laugh. My husband and I even tell the jokes to each other and laugh. But it loses a star because of the quality of the cd. Be ready to play with the volume. If you pop the cd in as normal all you will hear is laughing. Maybe Ray`s mic wasn`t connected right to the recording booth or however they record it but you have to turn the volume way up to hear Ray, then turn it down since the laughter gets really loud. Other then that it was great. It was such a great comedy cd that I would buy another cd of Ray`s even with the same problem just to hear the jokes. Also I liked that other then one word in the very beginning that is beeped out, the cd is clean to listen to for the whole family. Other comedy cds, like Chris Rock have way too much swearing. It just isn`t needed in my family car.

Totally funny and worth having if you are a Raymon fan. Keeps you laughing and makes you wished you had been there to see him. His unique style of funny is all too real to the ongoings in the family dynamics. Must have.

Hilarious!.......2007-03-08

I am a teacher and overheard some of my students talking about Dane Cook. I had seen the movie "Employee of the Month", but other than that, I had never heard anything about Dane Cook. I got online and listened to a few of his clips. I knew that I wanted "Harmful If Swallowed" and then decided to just get both. I think that he is hilarious! My husband loved the discs as well. He uses a great deal of profanity, but if you don't mind that it is well worth the money spent!

Sam Kinison, this is FUNNY AS HELL! Live From Hell is funny, I remember watching Sam on his HBO comedy specials a long time ago, and when I FINALLY got this album, I laughed my ass off! Sam touches on everything on this album; Arnold sucking d*ck, the homeless "Execute the homeless! SHOOT THEM!" the Kurd's "Hey I know, why don't we cross the hill and cross the bridge where there is no food and no place to take care of our kids. Ahaahah. I love that commercial 'Why don't you help the Kurd's?' yeah why don't you b**w me?" from Rap "I brought one rap tape, just to be fair, I brought 2 Live Crew's Nasty As We Wanna Be. There was one song on there called 'Suck my D**k' another one was called 'Get The f*ck Out Of My House'" Also he talks about the Joan River's show, he talks about BJ (guys, you know what I am talking about) and also the 100 hour war...so I'll give you some advice, GET THIS ALBUM!!!

...because I split my sides laughing so hard. Sam Kinison is the funniest S.O.B. to grace God's green earth. compare him to other comedians. Jeff Foxworthy: that redneck crap is getting long in the tooth. he's too clean. Larry The Cable Guy: Get-R-Done and get off the stage. he's too clean. I can listen to this Kinison CD over and over again and still bust my guts laughing. it is so funny when he shouts when he's doing his bit in a skit called "Pee Trough" and he starts talking about Jeffery Dahmer and he says "WILL SOMEONE CALL 9-1-1? WILL SOMEONE CALL 9-1-1? JESUS GOD! HE'S LOOKING AT MY A** AS IF IT'S A SPARE RIB. HE'S ABOUT TO TURN MY A** INTO A BUTT STEAK. WILL SOMEONE CALL 911?" I can't help but laugh. I wish he was still alive.

The Pee Trough.......2005-06-09

I love this album. I'm glad they reissued it though I haven't gotten the reissue yet. I agree with one of the previous posters that it is a real pain to FF through the CD to try to find a bit you want to hear without listening to the whole album. This is Sam trying to get a little more topical with his take on the Gulf War and the homeless and less about sex and his ex-wives. He's not on top of his game like he is on Louder Than Hell, he kind of meanders at points, drifting from one topic to another without any real linear connection. Sometimes he'll kind of mumble and not complete a sentence. All in all though this is must for any Kinson/comedy fan. It is also cool to hear him in an intimate setting again at a small comedy club in Houston. "Have You Seen Me Lately" was obviously recorded in a big venue and though Sam did these as good if not the best of any stand up, I like the small personal setting of a small club. I would rate this as my #2 Kinison album under "Louder Than Hell". Close call with "Have You Seen Me Lately" though. "Leader of the Banned" I think everyone would agree is by far at the bottom. The second half being Sam singing hard rock songs, come on. And the first half of comedy isn't his best either.

Here it is: the only Austin City Limits program in over 30 years that has never aired on TV anywhere. For that matter, it s never even been seen anywhere, except by those lucky few who had access to a well-worn copy.

Kinky Friedman and The Texas Jewboys. Long before the Kinkster became a celebrated mystery writer in New York City, and waaay long before he became a candidate for Governor of the Great State of Texas, there was Kinky the country music singer and songwriter of the mid-1970 s. He was a paragon, a veritable pioneer of political incorrectness set to music, and there was nobody quite like him on the Austin music scene (or, for that matter, on the planet).

There he was on the Austin City Limits stage on November 11, 1975, in his finest rhinestone suit with fur-lined guitar strap, bounding through his entire catalogue of double-entendre ditties. The band never sounded better (nor looked, well, weirder). The audience loved every lyrically devilish twist. There was only one problem. They said it couldn t be aired. There s still some mystery about exactly who they were who made the decision to pull the show.
Now "they" have finally allowed this performance to be available.

I've always been a fan of John Leguizamo but now I am truly impressed! The imitations of his family and friends performed on this CD are unbelievably hilarious. He is amazing. It's not just a stand up routine, it's a foray into his life all told by an extremely witty, extremely talented true entertainer. Buy this CD, you won't be sorry!

John Leguizamo is a comedic genius, and a Multi Talent Actor. His proformances in Spawn, Pest, S.O.S.(Summer of Sam), Super Mario Bros., Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge. But Nothing Like his Starring Role in The Pest. This album Minus the Songs Is a Funny Funny Album. I Recommend it. Joe Pesci's Cd Is Also Funny But Pesci is Not Here to amuse me. I saw this show EN VIVO and John is amazing. This cd is great but you have to see him live. There is no substitute for his facial expressions and body language. He is the ultimate one man show. The cd gets 4 stars, the live show gets 5+.

Definitely worth seeing again and again. I hope it comes out on DVD.

One of the funniest CD's in a long time! I would like to pick a favorite moment, but it's all good!
Rank right up ther with Bill Hicks, and Robert Schimmel. Funny, especially the part about his father, and his marriage!

Album Description

Posehn's 'Live In: Nerd Rage' reveals the hilarious observations of a self-professed nerd and life-long fan of heavy metal. At times the record is personal, nasty, dry, and absurd, but it's always funny. Brian muses on being a teenage heavy metal fan, marriage, his dog Ernie, high-school reunions, body 'parts' and getting revenge on childhood tormentors. Recorded as part of Brian's appearances on the Comedians of Comedy tour, and including a sketch with Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show), 'Live In: Nerd Rage' is Brian at his funniest and will have everyone who hears it seeing the world through a totally different set of eyes.

Not just mere stand-up however, 'Live In: Nerd Rage' also incorporates two musical cuts; one by Brian's heavy metal band POSEHN and another by TITANNICA. POSEHN's lineup is a who's who of the hard rock elite; featuring Scott Ian [ANTHRAX], Joey Vera [ARMORED SAINT], John Tempesta [WHITE ZOMBIE, THE CULT] with Brian himself on vocals. POSEHN slays with the soon-to-be-legendary original "Metal By Numbers" while TITANNICA [the metal band from the beloved Mr. Show sketch] delivers their epic track "Try Again, Again".

To a guy who spends alot of his time watching Hellraiser films with his girlfriend and listening to Iron Maiden, Vital Remains, Behemoth, in Flames, Converge etc etc Brian Posehn is a God send to nerd metalheads around the world. What can you exspect from this album? Only comedic rage that only a pissed off nerd could give you. A wonderful mix of old work like Nerd Rgae, the Mattress Story and the always classic..Yelling Stuff. With great new work, Brian hasn't lsot a step and is my favorite comedian hands down. I went to buy this along with the new All THat Remains(Great!!) as soon as my local record store opened (nerd!) I picked both up, I can clearly say this was no dissapointment. Brian has a natural charming delivery that just makes you want him to be funny. To manys delight, that is just what he is. also, some comics force it and you can always tell when they do. With him though, he throws it out "This is who I am, like it or not. Just let me watch X fiels season 5 on dvd" Which is great, no bulls*it. Just great comedy. Plus, the debut of the brutal audio assault of Posehn and Titannica appear here with Brian on vocals!! Metal By Numbers is not only musically pretty good but hilarious. The best 13 dollars i've spent in a while. Buy with no need to hesitate for a moment. Just make sure on your way home you don't have a mattress stuck under your car! Enjoy
