The darkest of the filmic trilogy that unites husband and wife Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, Flesh and Bone is a grimly affecting tale of two lonely lives, one unexpectedly, dramatically affected by the other. Quaid is the tragic Arlis, condemned to running away from memories of his horrific childhood. His is a life on the road, replenishing vending machines including one with a live chicken and predictions of the future. Ryan's unhappily wed Kay fears a past that Arlis is inextricably tied to. Still, they're drawn to each other. Then Arlis's father, the amoral Roy (an appropriately frightening James Caan), shows up and interferes and intervenes. Joining Roy is the benignly malevolent Ginnie (a sharp Gwyneth Paltrow in her first significant role). The film is written and directed by underused Steve Kloves, who wrote the lovely Racing with the Moon, and who wrote and directed The Fabulous Baker Boys.

For Flesh, Ryan is at her throaty, dark best, and Quaid's pain is etched on his face. The couple works very well together in this film, their first as a married couple (Innerspace and D.O.A. were made pre-nup). It's not the romantic light comedy both Quaid and Ryan had later success with, but it's a very effective and compelling film, despite its devastating tale. --N.F. Mendoza

From The New Yorker
The first film written and directed by Steve Kloves, "The Fabulous Baker Boys," was the most mature début in years, and a tough act to follow. His second is a dark and desperate piece of work; the Baker Boys were fated to stay middling and unknown, but the doom hanging over his new characters is altogether more severe. Dennis Quaid plays Arlis Sweeney, who as a young boy was an unwilling accomplice to the crimes of his father (James Caan). He minds his own business until he falls for Kay (Meg Ryan) and finds himself dragged back to the wickedness of the past. Although the plot comes to rely on a particularly outlandish series of coincidences, it's a credit to Kloves's skill that you can almost put this out of your mind and enjoy his long, suspended scenes, brimming with lust or the need to lash out. But he is properly an ironist, not a dealer in Hawthorne-like fables, and you miss the moments of levity that lifted the earlier movie, just as you long for Dennis Quaid's face, swollen with distress, to relax into one of his old wide grins. The movie is almost stolen by a gorgeous performance from Gwyneth Paltrow (who had one good scene in "Malice"), as a sly young drifter. Paltrow seems to know more about cool than all the other players put together. -Anthony Lane

4 out of 5 stars Good companion for Battlestar Fans.......2007-05-07

If you're a Battlestar Galatica Fan, this audio is an excellent companion to your collection. Passacaglia, Forgiven, and The Shape of Things to Come are emotional and addictive orchestral soundtracks. Not every song from the first season is included in this CD. The opening credit songs for the UK and the US versions and the battle songs (The Thousandth Landing, Battle on the Asteroid) are included. Battlestar Muzaktica is quite odd and doesn't fit with the collection of songs.

5 out of 5 stars Captures the feel of the show.......2007-04-11

Has a great selection of songs from the 1st season. I like show/movie CDs that you can picture the scenes and emotion of the actors when you hear the song. The Celtic underlays are great, and the Taiko drumming style is very well used for building intensity in the music. If you really like the series, you should probably really enjoy the music as well!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Soundtrack.......2007-04-11

If you like the music in a scene that just blends in and makes the scene even more emotional or suspenseful, that is what the scores from season one do on this cd. I initially bought it to for the prologue (cylon music) and the two main titles (U.S. and U.K.) but after listening to the entire cd, I have become completely addicted to it. The titles of the scores usually give you a hint of the scene and the liner notes also tell you the episode that they are from but the soundtrack has definitely made rewatching season one an even more intriguing experience. The scores with words, are written by Bear and are in various languages, but the words, especially the opera piece, are actually so dead one with the scene and in this specific scene hilarious. I love this soundtrack. If you are someone who is addicted to really grasping everything that happens in this show and watch and analyze it beyond face value, this is an added bonus to have in your collection. I highly recommend it!!!

4 out of 5 stars BSG.......2007-04-10

Man I love the Classic and the Present BSG's So Inaturally find the SoundTrack/Score A joy and very relaxing. They tend to sound very similar but they are very diffrent.

5 out of 5 stars Agree with everyone else.......2007-03-28

There have been lots of raving reviews of this album, as well as the equally sensational season 2 soundtrack. I just wanted to add my opinion on one track, "Destiny". An earlier review describes an Arabic string instrument being used, but it is actually a biwa, a traditional Japanese instrument that has such a distinct sound that it's hard to imagine it being used for anything other than traditional gagaku music. I don't know if anyone but McCreary has ever tried to use this instrument for something else, but it hardly matters. The fact that McCreary managed to use it so effectively in a piece that is so different from gagaku music is a perfect testament to his unique genius. I'm really looking forward to following McCreary's career.

5 out of 5 stars Free Flesh N' Bone!!!!.......2006-05-24

Flesh N' Bone was like the sweetest off Bone Thugs next to Bizzy because he had that skill to just have you like oooohhhhh that's hard. He did a great job on his first CD this is like a classic for me. There's alot of a good songs on here like "Sticks and Stones", "Empty The Clip", and "World So Cruel". Great album off da bones archives. A lot of people startin' to think Bone Thugs gettin' too old now but I tell them to hate on the Thuggish Ruggish. This is a must have album. Free Flesh N' Bone and free my cousin Quincy!

4 out of 5 stars Not Just About the Lyrics.......2006-04-29

I'm a huge bone thugs fan, one thing that always strikes me is their variation of the stuttered flow and speed. As opposed to Twista who raps only at his speed without much variation.

It goes without out saying that Flesh is heavily underrated. If some of you so called Hip/Hop, Rap fans listen to the rapping style (flow) rather than just the lyrics you might appreciate the style better.

For example has any of you heard Flesh at the end of Handle the Vibe (no, it's not on the album). As somebody mentioned elsewhere on these reviews; listen to Mystic Spirits - he maintains a steady flow with ease over the beat.

On another note Bone were very experienced rappers for their age, also before Bizzy became spiritual Flesh was doing the spiritual stuff first just go through the albums and listen!!!!

For those who still think what the hell is he talkin' about listen to Deadly on 5th Dawg Let Loose.

Check these songs out, also feat Flesh:

Too Greedy - Skit
BYOB - Last track from 5th Dawg (japanese import)
Roof is Leaking
Untouchable - RWO feat Flesh (his final verse is awesome)

5 out of 5 stars A CD worth buying.......2006-02-25

This Cd is one of the best CD's ever, no doubt. My favorite track is "Northcoast" because it has one of the sickest most relaxing beat that i have ever heard. I like the little Jazz sound it has in the chorus. this CD is worth buying because Flesh really shows his talent as a rapper. Believe me you wanna get this album because it is a jewl.

3 out of 5 stars Good album but not a classic.......2006-02-19

"T.H.U.G.S." was the first Bone solo and displayed a similar style to the classic "E. 1999 Eternal" album. However, it falls short when trying to stack up with that album. Flesh wasn't really a big part of that album, so on "T.H.U.G.S." we finally see what he is truly capable of. There are a handful of really great songs on this album, and there are also some unnecessary filler tracks. Flesh-N-Bone is interesting to listen to on this album because he tries to walk the line between a spiritual, god fearing rapper and a murderous criminal, which makes some tracks less convincing than others. Overall, "T.H.U.G.S." is a good album by all means but doesn't really stack up to a lot of the other Bone Thugs releases.

"T.H.U.G.S." starts out with a few very spiritual tracks. The intro is just the Lord's prayer over some scary music. This gives way to the title track, a pretty spiritual track with a good chorus and beat. "Rev Run Sermon" lets the great Joseph Simmons get a little preaching in. "World So Cruel" is one of the better songs here, a message track with good verses by Flesh and Run and a nice hook. The best track on the CD is "Nothin But Da Bone In Me". It's a very raw, hard song, with a great piano and instrumental beat, it's got an almost g-funk style and Flesh rips his trademark triple time rhymes. "Northcoast" is another of the best songs, a very laidback track with great instrumentals and a relaxed singing sample. "The Silence Isn't Over" is a very hard song, but like a lot of the songs on the second half of the album, it goes on for too long (6+ minutes). "Crazy By The Flesh" is a good song, a weird chorus supplied with a great bassline makes it worth it. The second half of the album is much worse than the first, plagued by unnecessarily long and repetitive filler tracks. The exception is "Comin to Serve You" where Flesh and BG Knocc Out display great chemistry. The album ends with two pretty strong tracks, "No Mercy" with Fat Joe and Big Pun and "Playa Hater with Layzie and Krayzie Bone.

This album had the potential to be a really great album but fell short. Flesh-N-Bone is a pretty talented rapper, he has a lot to say but sometimes he's so fast that he kind of leaves your head spinning. His voice is good to listen to, kind of between Layzie and Bizzy Bone's voice. "T.H.U.G.S." is a good album to listen to if you can find it, but don't expect any "East 1999 Eternal" or the like here.

5 out of 5 stars Knocc Out and Flesh, my glocks to techs, we comin 2 serve ya.......2005-12-23

This cd is bangin! I just found the damn thing and i luv it. Comin 2 serve ya is the best but all the songs are hard as hell. Live soil and world so cruel r tight 2. Very overlooked cd, I don't know about the fifth dawg let loose cd but definitely get this 1

4 out of 5 stars Huge improvement from "T.H.U.G.S.".......2006-07-31

Flesh-N-Bone's sophomore album was released in late 2000, following his release from Def Jam and the start of an eight year jail sentence. That's too bad, because "5th Dog Let Loose" is really a good album, head and heels above his 1996 solo "T.H.U.G.S." Flesh, the often forgotten member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, has a very unique flow, being one of hip hop's quickest tongued rappers and his delivery is great to listen to, with a great high pitched voice. Once you are able to decipher his triple-time rhymes, you will find entertaining stories of crime, spirituality, and his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. He has a darker style than Bone usually does as a group, often referencing dark scripture and mystic spirits and such. I find "5th Dog Let Loose" better than "T.H.U.G.S.", which I thought had a lot of good material but was sometimes plagued with too much filler and dated sounding production. I had heard that this album was not great, so even as a Bone fan I was reluctant to check it out, but I'm certainly glad I did. Damon Elliott and company definitely stepped up the production for this go-round, and I find it easier to follow Flesh's lyricism on this album as well. I definitely recommend "5th Dog Let Loose" to all Bone fans, because this is some of Flesh's best work.

Following an overly-long intro, the album starts with "Hero", a dark and entertaining song, definitely a highlight. Next comes one of the best, a Montell Jordan collaboration called "Amen". The beat samples OutKast's "Git Up, Git Out" and Flesh speaks of the struggles of life and provides hope. Montell's appearance adds well to the song and it's a very strong cut. "Way Back" is also a great song, featuring his brother Layzie Bone. He reminisces over dead rappers, namely Eazy-E, the Notorious B.I.G., and 2Pac. I also really like "If You Could See". The production is very unique but I like it. Flesh is aided by Wish and Layzie Bone, another very good track. "Word to the Wise" is a tough warning track, reminiscent of some on "T.H.U.G.S." "The Master" is excellent, it sounds like a song Krayzie Bone would record, another album highlight. "Say A Little Prayer" is an introspective and spiritual track, it shows Flesh's versatility and has good production too. "Havin' A Ball" sports probably the best beat on the album, it's a unique strings-and-bass production. It's a happy song, I really like it. "Kurupted Flesh" brings west coast veteran Kurupt for a guest appearance to make a surprisingly conscious and relevant song. "Deadly" is awesome, the production has great droopy bass and even a harmonica. "Come F**k With Me" has an excellent chorus and more great production. "No Other Like My Kind" is a nice track, and the BG Knocc Out collaboration "Silent Night" closes the album on a tough note. It seems like a fitting sequel to their first collabo, "Coming To Serve You".

Overall "5th Dog Let Loose" is an impressive album, definitely the best work Flesh has ever pulled off by himself. Damon Elliott definitely stepped up the production, and the album shines. I recommend it to all Bone Thugs fans, because it showcases a different style but has a lot of the same appeal.

4 out of 5 stars Solid Sophomore Effort.......2006-06-07

Flesh without a doubt is the most underrated bone thug to hit the mic and desirves alot more credit than he gets. His flow is abit unique from the rest of the members but he spits some of most hardest and fastest flows in the group and his performance on this album shows it.

This is flesh's comeback album after serving time in prison prior to his arrest back in 1996, and he does not dissapoint. The album production wise is not up pare with his debut which is to me a classic. As I said the production is this albums biggest flaw but flesh lyricaly sounds better than ever, you'll even be surprised how much he improved.

Here's a litte review on the tracks:
Hero~A long intro but a good start for the album 8/10
Amen~One of my favorites on the album. Flesh hooks up with R&B singer Montell Jordon, the beat and lyrics are above average 9/10
Way Back~A good tribute to the fallen rappers, Weak production but good appeances by layzie Bone and chas howse 8/10
If You Could See~Probally the best song on the album, the beat is crazy along with the help of layzie and Wish Bone 10/10
Word To The Wise~I just wasnt fellin this song as much as the rest but flesh delivers well 7/10
The Master~flesh flows fast as hell on this track and lyrics are above averge with a decent beat 8/10
Say A Little Prayer~an average track with a good spritual feel
7/10
Havin A Ball~weak production, lyrics average just wasnt fellin it 6/10
Kurupted Flesh~good track with a good appearance by kurupt, hard ass beat 9/10
Deadly~Flesh delivers fast and well on this track with an average beat 8/10
Come f*** Wit Me~Poor production flesh's lyrics makes up for it 6/10
No Other Like My Kind~Average track, nice hook from Chas Howse
7/10
Silent Night~Another average track with appearances from BG Knockout and Damon Elliot, dark beat 7/10

This album has its highs and lows but it deserves more credit than it gets. I would recommended this CD to any bone fan and rap listener out their.

5 out of 5 stars BEST ALBUM FROM THE 5TH DAWG.......2006-01-07

FROM THE USE OF R&B SOUNDS WITH MONTELL JORDAN TO THE STREET TONES WITH BONE MEMBERS AND KURUPT. THIS IS HIS BEST ALBUM AND ONE OF THE BEST ANYONE FROM BONE HAS RELEASED. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY AN ALBUM FROM A BONE THUG MEMBER, BUY THIS ONE!!!

3 out of 5 stars OK 2nd solo album.......2005-09-04

The first member of Bone to break away and go solo comes back almost 4 years after his debut with an average album. I like his debut better. There's no denying he can flow but this album didn't catch my ear that much. 13 songs again (like his debut) 2 are good, the rest are average, 1 I skip. Guests are on 4 songs rapping and 1 doing the hook so you get a good deal of the 5th Dog. Production is also average (oddly cause the main producer on here usually has tight beats). Damon Elliot did 10 of the songs, Professor did 2 and Rhythm D did the other 1. A good album to have for die hard Bone fans but not the best Bone release.

#1 - 6 (has a 4 minute into before the song)

Everytime I listen to this CD I am reminded how sacred the male/female union can be. This work is gentle yet raw. It lets me enjoy the vulneralbily of being in my heart and soul with all the nonsense striped away. Thank you for this gorgeous music!

5 out of 5 stars Beyond Words!.......2003-02-08

If you've read the myth of Skeleton Woman in "Women Who Run With Wolves" you will be moved by this musical expression of the story. Peter Kater is a sensitive creator of music that heals, inspires, and speaks to the depths of your mindbodyspirit!

3 out of 5 stars Excellent mood minus memorable melodies.......2002-12-01

This work almost attained a 4-star rating because of the excellently conveyed mood for the tragic (and rather grisly) folk legend/love story upon which its based. More memorable melodies would have kept me listening.

5 out of 5 stars The realness of all........2002-06-04

As one now living out the myth in real life, I would have a difficult time believing any music for the Skeleton Woman story were it not right on the money, in feeling and texture. Although the opening piece does not conjure up Artic visions for me (more like Carribean!) the remainder of this large and powerful work is wonderfully descriptive and primally moving. It's intense carnality, even when seemingly languid, makes it an awesome and highly inspiring experience for life's most awesome and inspiring moments. Velocity is all in the mind. Passion equals velocity. Equals Skeleton Woman.

5 out of 5 stars from Wind and Wire, Issue 11.......2004-01-17

"Pagan Saints" is another incredible release from EarthSea Records! Sensual, earthy, passionate, dark, rhythmic, and haunting are all words that immediately come to mind while listening to this CD. A combination of instrumental pieces featuring Peter Kater (piano/keyboards), David Darling (cello), and Paul McCandless (woodwinds) to name a few, and the amazing vocals of Chris White, the music is about "the loss and regaining of faith, offering the reverent and committed relationship between lovers as a path to spiritual understanding." Chris White's lyrics have an honest, mature, and strong feminine point of view of a long-term relationship that has lost its sparkle - poetic and refreshing! The music was composed by Chris White and Peter Kater, separately and in collaboration, and the contrast in styles is seamless, but fascinating. The tone of the CD is no frolic in a meadow of wildflowers. It is somber and searching - the reality of examining a relationship that has become routine and exploring ways of bringing new meaning to it. The music is powerful and emotional with and without lyrics, and deepens with each listening. There isn't a weak track on the CD, but I am repeatedly moved by the opening "Where?", as well as "Come to You", and "Faithful" - all three are poetry set to music, and the emotions are profound. This is an extraordinary CD, and I highly recommend it!

This CD is beautifully arranged and produced, with great instruments and an incredibly talented vocalist, Chris White. Many times, the violins on this CD seem like they are crying, and when double tracked with White's vocals, send chills up my spine. This CD takes me places I've never been. Beautiful images flash through my mind as I listen, and allows me to free my inner muse and unleash the torrent stream of words onto the paper.

5 out of 5 stars one of my favorite CD's to listen to.......2000-03-15

Excellent background music while at the keyboard. I listen to it over and over again..never getting tired of it. Relaxing, haunting and etherial. My favorite songs are #5, dirge and #7. Can't wait for their next release!

5 out of 5 stars 8 years later, still one of my all-time favorite musical experiences..........2006-07-08

I was introduced to this band/album back in the summer of 1998, soon after it had been released, by a friend familiar with the music scene in Oregon. This album became one of my favorite albums of all time in the months to follow, and remains in my top ten today.

This is an album that must be played sequentially, and in total. It's like an experience; Robert Wynia's melodic yearning entrances you and pulls you in, tossing you about for 17 tracks and spitting you back out to process it all. The raw emotion that emanates from this disc is endearing and makes one want to devour the words that envoke so much feeling, pouring out of every member of the band, through every instrument and vocal. Peter Cornett's drum solo toward the end of "American Theatric" takes my breath away every time I hear it, even 8 years later. The desperation behind "The Invitation", a song about love lost, is raw and penetrating and easily captures a scary part that has existed inside many of us. Lyrics like those in "Endless I" and "Endless II" are so poignant and enlightening... this isn't a CD that can be taken lightly and played as background music. It is worth committing to for the entire journey.

5 out of 5 stars #1 Floater Fan.......2004-10-09

Although, Burning Sosobra is the best album yet, this one is very, very close to being the greatest. His voice takes you to a mediphoric dream land. Great music to sing along to while driving. Very powerful. Great to paint and draw to. Very inspiring.

5 out of 5 stars one you should listen to........2002-08-13

I am a native of Bend Oregon and I have been following floater for 6 or 7 years, and I am now 23 years old. I love all different kinds of music and floater is my absolute favorite! I love Angels in the Devils in the bone, and it definetly was a demonstration of their talent, as well as a show of their soul.Buy this CD or YOU MISS OUT!

5 out of 5 stars Life without Floater..........2002-03-27

Since I've moved across the country, I've had to suffer without being able to see Floater live. I've had to depend on my CD collection. The East coast has never heard of Floater.
I highly recommend any and all of Floaters releases. If you find one, snatch it up, it's only a matter of time when the world knows who and what Floater is all about.
Floater, native of Washington, Oregon and California drives hard notes with symphonic tones to your very core. Supplying listening satisfaction to a wide range of listeners, I would suggest this band to moshpit dwellers as well as Floyd fans.
Personal favorite: The Sad Ballad of Danny Boy and Crawl to you from the Glyph CD.
Fourty Thumbs Up!

5 out of 5 stars oh, those boys..........2002-03-16

So, here I was a nineteen year old girl standing outside a local venue that Floater was supposed to play at....From then one I've been hooked. Just like thier two albums before, this one is amazing. Although the sound has changed some what the idea remains the same, with each album telling a different story. Their style has grown into something all their own, a long with a following that you wouldn't belive. :) Thought, the whole CD is good, I'd have to say I like the latter half better. These three men are the most talented people I ever had the chance to meet. So If you ever get the chance to see Flaoter live, I suggest that you take it. I personally would recommend an accoustic show. It was the BEST Floater show I'd ever seen, and belive me I've seen a lot.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2006-07-05

I am a very big Richard Marx fan, he goes sinonimous with my late teens and early 20's. I listen to his music and reminisc. He is lyrically the best singer and writer in my book. This cd though disappointed me. I was not impressed by any of the tracks and non of them left an impression. The music seemed to drown out his voice, which is by far every fans favorite. I dont regret the purchase since I have everyone of his CDs and will continue to buy others he releases. It really boggles my mind why he gave away the song "This I promise you" to N'sync, they did not do it justice. I am awaiting Days in Avalon, I am anxious to hear Richard on the vocals.

5 out of 5 stars 5 stars all the way.......2005-12-13

The music business is funny. Bad songs become hits and some brilliant albums are out of print. I picked this album up somewhere for about $3 somewhere because I was curious. It turned out this album is about as close to a perfect album as you can get. There are 2 mediocre songs on here (You Never Take Me Dancing + Breathless). The rest is outstanding. "Fool's Game" and "Can't Lie To My Heart" are 2 of the most beautiful songs ever and would have been mega hits with the right marketing. First class songwriting. At the time this album dropped, Richard wasn't so popular anymore and it was widely ignored. A popular artist would have had a world wide hit with this album. All songs, except the 2 mentioned above, have great hooks and are excellently produced

3 out of 5 stars A Bit of Lax Work.......2005-05-03

Richard Marx, one of the greatest songwriters on earth released this one in 1997 but unfortunately it didin't bore huge hits like previous works. To be honest I feel Richard's passion from this work but it seems the Richard has entered into the wrong territory. Maybe Michael Bolton or Bryan Adams will do more using the same material. UNTIL I FIND YOU AGAIN is no doubt the best track from this album and it became a minor hit and TOUCH OF HEAVEN is as great as this. Catchy rocker EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE is another single release candidate. MY CONFESSION is the most memorable track and ETERNITY might fit well into recent work MY OWN BEST ENEMY. Since this release Richard became the songwriters for someone else's work and THIS I PROMISE YOU became huge by boys band N'SYNC in 2000. And he won the 2004 grammy by Luther Vandross work. In retrospect Flesh and Bones is sort of transitional work from Richard's youthful rock and power ballad prince to AAA songwriter Richard.

Recommended if you like his recent work MY OWN BEST ENEMY.

5 out of 5 stars Richard Marx: Flesh & Bone (1997).......2005-02-25

In 1997, three years after the release of Paid Vacation, Richard Marx released his fifth album entitled, FLESH & BONE. Sort of a weird title for an album, but in the same manner, I like the album title. It has a certain ring to it that fits the album. Don't know what it is. Anyway, this album has a lot of potential and it is another one of my favorite albums, behind Repeat Offender and Rush Street.

FOOL'S GAME
Not bad. It could have been better.

YOU NEVER TAKE ME DANCING
I would have liked to have a little more music to backup Richard's vocals, but the song is amazing, and it is one of my favorites on the album.

TOUCH OF HEAVEN
The second & final single from the album. This song is not all that bad, but I wished it was done differently than what is heard on this album. But not a bad song.

WHAT'S YOUR STORY
This song, for some strangely odd reason, reminds of me of that song from New Kids On The Block: Hangin' Tough. I think that reason is probably why I enjoy hearing this song. Great song.

CAN'T LIE TO MY HEART
This song is really amazing. I don't know why. It just is. I really do enjoy hearing this song.

UNTIL I FIND YOU AGAIN
The first single from the album. By the release of this album, Richard Marx had been recording and performing his music for ten years. This song sounds so much like the material from the first album, mainly Hold On To The Nights. That is why I favor this song with a lot of pride.

MY CONFESSION
This may sound like a song that a younger pop artist would do, but Richard Marx took the liberty of sing a song that sounds like a song that would have been done by a future young pop star, and he sings this song extremely well. I don't think any other male performer would have been able to pull this song off as well as Richard did.

ETERNITY
The beat and mood to this song is amazing. Richard's voice is just outstanding. He just continues to reel off the great tunes. He really knows what we fans enjoy hearing.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT
The music could have been a little better than this, but Richard's voice needs no improvement because his voice on this song, just like many of his other songs, is perfectly outstanding in every way. He really has a true and great powerful voice.

IMAGE
The title struck me when I first read the tracklist. But when I heard this song, I was more than impressed; I was stunned. Why? Because Richard is one of the few artists, who can make the song live up to its title, where the listener is impressed all the way around.

BREATHLESS
This is another heartfelt ballad that deserved to be put out as a single. It is real smooth and relaxingly beautiful. This is one song that I refuse to not listen to. And I advise that everyone listen to this beautiful song.

MIRACLE
Now, when I read this title, I already related to it because I am longing for a miracle to happen. I am hoping that I will be getting a job in my field of AutoCAD. I am hoping that I will find the one girl that I am meant to be with. Those two things are miracles to me. When I heard this song, it gave more reason to hope that those two miracles will come true. This is one hell of an inspirational song. This song will inspire you to really hope and pray that a miracle will work out for the best of each and everyone of us.

This album is definitely more than on the money and each of you Richard Marx fans should have a copy. If not, then here's your chance. If I were you, I'd buy a copy now before it's too late.

5 out of 5 stars Head and Shoulders Above the Rest.......2004-12-31

This really isn't my favorite Richard Marx album but I am giving it 5 stars because as far as I can ascertain, it is light years ahead of any other available albums. As usual, Richard gives a wide variety of subjects with different beats and tempos. Fools Game I liked from the first; You Never Take Me Dancing takes a little getting used to. Touch of Heaven is absolutely superb; Miracle was not one of my favorites but What's The Story comes close to being my very favorite. But I actually gave my heart to Until I See You Again.

My Confession and Eternity are both good songs. Loved What's Wrong With That and The Image. And who could resist the poignant Breathless. Hey, I just discovered that I really do like this album; Richard is near-genius when it comes to both song-writing and performing. A pity that guy didn't enjoy my all-time favorite video "Endless Summer Nights", but then that is from an entirely different CD so can't understand him commenting on it here in the first place.

5 out of 5 stars Album master of soul-rock.......2006-11-07

All albums from Richard are excellents, this album is on soul ambient, like "keep coming back" style, the first track begins with one excellent orchestra from his father, and is impossible begins one album from better way, the second is with collaboration of the true brain and frontman to Earth Wind & Fire...Maurice White, the 5th track, is one finest ballad, with great guitars from Bruce Gaitsch, more later author of one of the best albums in my life "king of hearts" and one of the best final solo guitar that I've ever heard in the song "king of hearts", and Luther Vandross (God bless) on chorus. The album continues in good line, and the song duet with Lara Fabian is more better that original Robin Zander and Nancy Wilson's. Great version too on Stevie Wonder's "too shy to say" but Randy Jackson on drums? The Tubes track "talk to ya later" count with two of the best group ever, Toto, Steve Lukather and Simon Phillips, and last but not least, BREATHLESS, BREATHLESS, BREATHLESS, ¡¡¡what track!!!what pleasure song, Richard is incredible in this song, the musicians are perfects, this remember me to Kenny Loggins's "love will follow", is one of the songs that no all the humans understands, but I like fan eternity to Richard, always sounds in my CD player.Sorry my bad english.

    5 out of 5 stars A Rare Bird.......2006-10-13

Steve Kloves' Flesh and Bone (1993) is a rare bird indeed, a movie with unassuming depths. A beautiful film, moving and eerie and almost mysterious in its effects, it has a grace and poetry all its own. And it went almost entirely unnoticed by the movie-going public. (Today it is perhaps best known, if known at all, as one of Gwyneth Paltrow's earliest featured roles.) It's easy to see why it disappeared without a trace: it's an incredibly subtle film by any standards, and compared to your average '90s fare, it barely "exists" at all. It's like a phantom, a hazy dream. Watching it is like passing through a roadside town, catching a glimpse of a diner and a bar, and imagining the lives of ordinary folk (never so ordinary as we think); then scratching the surface of their routines, and revealing the turmoil beneath. Flesh and Bone is a real road movie, maybe the best of them all, because it creates a perfect sense of people moving, forever moving, but never actually getting anywhere. The characters in the movie are like fish in a barrel, like flies in a sun-drenched room; their movement is central to who they are as people, and also to the meaning and the structure of the film, which is about rootlessness: a lack of having any place to go. All the characters in Flesh and Bone are restless; they are searching for something without knowing, or especially caring, what. They are simply moving because they cannot bear to remain still; like blood in the veins, perhaps.

4 out of 5 stars Gwyneth Paltrow is a lit stick of dynamite in this movie. .......2006-08-13

She's scary, she's going to hurt you and you can't take your eyes off of her. James Caan's menace comes across as very real and horrifying. Some people are just no good and need to be taken seriously. This is a quiet, very sad and scary movie. Meg Ryan did a good job but it didn't change her image. Dennis Quaid as always was very good. Gwyneth Paltrow was scary but a relief everytime she had a scene. She was that smart and that pretty in this movie. I have no idea what Emma and Shakespeare in Love are like and I don't want to know but this movie showed early on why she gets picked for movies with strong directors.

5 out of 5 stars "Practice makes perfect...".......2006-05-22

Before Brangelina there was Mennis...for the most beautiful on (and off screen) couple was Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan. This was the third installment in the 'Dennis-Meg' film triligy and it's a pretty good one at that. 'Flesh and Bone' serves up a decent thriller with some very good acting all the way around. Dennis Quaid plays Arlis, a man tormented daily by the memories of his terrible childhood. He wears this torment etched across his face at all times (if you want to know who Heath Ledger gets his Ennis Del Mar from just watch Dennis here...it's uncanny). He is a drifter, moving around constantly restocking vending machines for a living in an attempt to forget where he came from. After having a fall out with her husband, Kay (Meg Ryan) falls into his life bringing home an uncomfortable disturbance in Arlis' all to routine life. You see, Kay is running from a past that Arlis is connected to in a way he would have never guessed, and it's not until Arlis' 'evil' father Roy (Caan in a brutally frightening performance) shows up with his partner in crime Ginnie (Paltrow in a scene stealing role) that their pasts are revieled. The final few frames of this film are intence and surreal as you watch Arlis confront the demons he's been running from and take action towards redemption. Brilliantly scripted, directed and acted this is surely one that will please the viewer.

5 out of 5 stars Quaid and Ryan Act.......2006-04-10

Both Quaid and Ryan demonstrate the reasons why they've become so respected among members of their craft. The film is well conceived, well acted, well directed.

    4 out of 5 stars no title.......2006-02-26

This is from the director of "The Fabulous Baker Boys", also "fabulous". Although Kloves wrote the script here, you would have sworn that Jim Thompson, of gritty novel and film noir fame, did. There is the same theme of inescapable past as in "The Grifters" and a rather unknown, which is a shame, film, "After Dark, My Sweet". (which stars the grandson of Jackie Gleeson) Quaid and Ryan were superb. It was very dark and sparse. A winner.
