Editorial Reviews
URB
Employing giant distorted basslines, wicked ragga samples and jackhammer beats, speed garage pushes the traditional diva-driven sound of house and garage into another dimension. Once again Moonshine leads the pack in bringing the freshest sounds to our shores.

Album Description
After releasing their early records on Vogado's own Fluid Ounce label, Zero dB are ready to step it up, with their debut album, "Bongos, Bleeps and Basslines" on Ninja Tune. Though their main starting point is usually jazz, they dip into a multitude of different influences and work with talented musicians and vocalists to create their tracks. Zero dB's meticulous production forces their audience to discover previously undeveloped musical places.

Customer Reviews:
Simply sublime.......2006-12-28
I bought this album right after hearing two tracks from it on an Internet radio broadcast of ambient music. It's a beautiful mix of ambient, electronica, and pure piano pieces that blend together very nicely. The entire work is deeply contemplative, but also keeps moving; some of the tracks are particularly upbeat and have an infectious, thumping back beat to them.
I created a playlist out of this disc and went for a long bike ride in the woods and fell completely in love with it: It definitely takes you on a journey of introspection, but the songs will by no means put you to sleep.
Circle, the first track, starts off gently enough, and pulls you in to a quiet scene of reflection. Then, a beat comes in lightly from a distance, and pretty soon the music has you moving. The second track, Second Sense, glides in with a light, single female vocalization, followed by another back beat, neither of which hogs the stage in the song. A couple of the tracks, such the title track, are a tad melancholy, but they only start out that way and fit perfectly into the framework of the entire album as a whole. My favorite track, 100, is probably now one of my top 5 instrument/electronic pieces ever. It has a great rhythm and sunny groove. It's hard not to smile, bob your head, and tap your feet while listening to the song.
Throughout all the tracks is a subtle appearance of a piano playing simple melodies that are hypnotic and haunting, yet gorgeous.
I'd highly recommend this album to anyone who is looking for music with meaning but that isn't heavy-handed in the least. I have listened to it over and over in the weeks I've had it, and have not grown tired of one single song.

great songs, bad mixing.......2003-01-22
Basslines is one of the best speed garage albums you can buy. What makes the album so great is the succession of fantastic tracks. Standouts include ultrafunkula, the line and love commandments. The reason Basslines does not receive 5 stars is simple- poor mixing. Songs do not blend effortlessly into one another, as they do on better compilations. Further, the last few tracks on the album are HORRIBLE. With vocals like "You are the new generation" repeated over and over in a chipmunk-esque fashion, and "Here comes the bassline" making an otherwise flawless album slightly cheesey. Nevertheless, fans of speed garage and house will thoroughly enjoy this album.
The best speed garage CD out there.......2001-06-11
This CD has so much energy. Its much different than many of those UK garage CDs. Lots of bass and nice house beats. I also recommend "Groove Radio presents: speed garage". It is a similar style. Definitely the best speed garage CD I have heard. I hope moonshine releases a vol 2.
Moonshine is first again with "Speed Garage".......2000-02-10
When I first saw the jewel case for this CD the primary thing that interested me was `Moonshine Music' banner. Buying Techno CD's can be difficult, as you probably know, and I have never been disappointed with a Moonshine Release. With that said, The second thing that caught my eye was the name for the new style of Techno on the inside; Speed Garage.
This is the first and only `Speed Garage' Style Techno CD I have ever owned. I can't seem to find any others.
When I purchased "Basslines" I had only one question; what is `Speed Garage?' I soon put it together. This verging new style appears, to me anyway, to be the inevitable fusion between 90's style `pop dance' music and `hard trance.'(With a tiny bit of `industrial' mixed in).
An interesting combination to say the least. This style seems to be DJ based. In other words the mixing is what makes this style of music not as much the musical artists, I could be wrong. A good DJ, as demonstrated in this CD, takes a dance track, (i.e. De'Lacy - Hideaway) lays the vocals over some new electronic kicks and adds some bass that would blow out concert speakers. I knew this type of music was a long time in coming but it is like nothing I have ever heard before. It is fantastic.
I tend to consider myself a music enthusiast. You can take my word ford it, if you dare, this CD is definitely worth having if you love electronic dance music or if you are a Techno head. At the very least, give a good listening.
GRRRRRREEAAAATTTTTT~~!!!!!!!!.......1999-05-11
Can't wait for its next compilation... this album just kept me grooving through the nights. Buy it if u wanna know SPEEDGARAGE~~!!! My friends are hooked once they heard this album. Buhlievee me :)
THIS WILL KICK YER ARSE!!!.......1998-10-06
Sup? i just got this cd and it's soooo bad arse! the beats will keep you movin all nite! good cruisin muzik too for all those "bass mobile" cars out there. later!

Product Description
An adventurous journey of autobiographical songs and stories, and intimate music conversations about gilli moons inner truths, emotions and passions, anecdotes about falling in love, and out of it, about living in Hollywood, and about freedom, humour, simplicity and a life long journey of discovery. extraOrdinary Life celebrates 13 brand new self-penned songs, a spoken word track and an Italian song. An ENHANCED CD, it features a 10 min making of video, and a 20 photo slide show embracing her album, photography which has come to visual life by Hollywoods celebrity photographer Jim Steinfeldt (Tina Turner, Madonna, Miles Davis, Willie Nelson). extraOrdinary Life is a groove oriented album, mixing sensuous basslines, emotional piano and gilli moons lilting melodic voice, with songs making attention at AAA and alternative radio. With an emphasis on organic, raw musical textures, gillis trademark edge is present, combining a cool rebelliousness of eclectic guitars, techno loops, live drums and world-beat percussion. Its only independent, alternative artists like gilli moon that are able to take music production risks, and can truly manage to challenge the current tired old musical norm on todays radio by creating an album that pushes the envelope. extraOrdinary life is audacious and fresh, a definitive departure from her prior 3 albums "Woman" (02), "temperamental angel" (00) and Girl in the Moon (98).

Album Description
Jute is a four piece electronic act from Chicago IL who have something very warm, soothing, and seductive to offer. While the music here is anything but violent, an addicting narcotic it most certainly is. A Violent Narcotic is a mist of woven beats, ambient textures, and revolving rhythms and patterns constantly in flux, moving in and out. Although the band revolve around a rock based instrumental formula -bass, guitar, piano, and some additional flute and cello, the continuous floating beats make it seem unconventional and substantial in creating an etherial soundscape. The dominating force of Jute is the angelic, melting vocals of siren Julie Axis. She is absolutely essential to the workings of Jute, propelling the composition into an abstract lasting beauty. As a whole, Jute's music is somewhere among that middle ground between the ambient textures and beats of Scorn, with the more classical, compositional framework and gorgeous vocals of Amber Asyulm or Miranda Sex Garden. The album also reminds me of the classical/electronic dub work of Controlled Bleeding's Gilded Shadows, particularly Julie's vocal resemblance to Trang on that masterpiece. Despite reference points to other acts, what is very important here is the band's process of finding new ways of musical expression, and their ability to capture the atmospheric beauty successfully and exceptionally. A Violent Narcotic is simply fantastic, exciting, and beautiful material, and Jute is certainly one of the very best bands I have heard in a long while. Jeramy Ponder of Jackalblaster Magazine.

niiice.......2002-11-22
really well done...i listen to this mostly when i'm working and need somethin soothing and not too distracting but not hokey...the whole album flows really nice. honestly, i'd almost buy it for the coverart alone.
really lovely....i look forward to more.
beautiful for you.......2002-07-13
bomm-bap, as heard in your most serene dreams. this worshipmusic is something altogether atypically ill - a very well thought out mood piece! some very dope instrumentals up in here. you know, for hard-core head bobbin' and deepest heart/mind/soul reflection. pick it up -- you should like this.
Soulful Instrumental Hip Hop.......2002-05-13
Dang, this CD is fresh and relaxing. All the beats are smooth and relaxing, laid back and interesting. The samples are nice, and the drums hit perfectly. Bravo dr allstar, you've created a monster.
Very dope instrumental hip hop........2002-05-13
I was really impressed when I got this in the mail. 18 tracks of dope beats with laid back vibe. Its defnitely an 'older' school type of feel as far as vibe goes, a defnite head nodder. nice work allstar.
Hard to find inspirational music.......2002-05-03
My first thoughts: Awesome...Spiritual music gone hiphop (the right way). It is so hard to find christian hiphop. The stuff I here is normally blah with one beat through out the album (some guy rappin' off a sheet of paper).
Next session:
This is the first time I've heard hiphop without words. It took me a few turns of the CD for me to get use to the groove, but after that...I was lovin' it.
My only complaints:
I want more fast tracks on the next CD. Sort the tracks so I'm not left going up and down with tempo/bpm.
