Beatz & Bobz, Vol. 2
Beatz & Bobz, Vol. 2
Editorial Reviews
Product Description
This is the latest CD mix to come from the UK's longest running monthly breakbeat club-night Beatz & Bobz. The club night has been instrumental in pushing the breakbeat sound forward and developing local talent. The club's has such a unique, non pretentious vibe that all of those who play, ask to return to this legendary South West party time and time again.
Beatz & Bobz: Volume 2 is mixed by club favorite and one half of the Propellerheads, Will White. One of their successful tracks is the remix of Shirley Bassey's "History Repeating" and 808 State's "Lopez". Will is also responsible for Junkwaffle who recorded one of the first singles on Bristol's Cup Of Tea label.
The album showcases the local breaks sound. Featuring exclusive tracks from top breaks labels from Spain, Italy, and the UK.

Excellent!.......2007-04-22
I've listened to this CD over and over since it came last week. Perfect for bellydancing! Very upbeat, a little slow stuff, but mostly makes me want to dance!
Rocking Out at work.......2006-07-11
We listen to this disk at work. It is not as good as Infinite Bhangra but it sure beatz many other albums. If you like the 80's underground dance music scene in the inner cities, you'll get off on this. Buy it pronto.
energetic and upbeat.......2001-05-17
This disc is a compilation of modern Bhangra music from Kiss Records in India. The sound is a result of the Western influence of Dance and Hip-Hop music that moved overseas into Indian clubs and basements in the 80's and has taken a foothold with modern youth. All songs have a very Indian flavor (and instruments) and a modern, accessible sound. All are very good (particularly track 1) ....

Customer Reviews:
Keep your G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories to yourself ,Swizzy!.......2007-07-13
The truth shall be spoken! Swizz Beatz is one of the most overrated producers in the game. The sad thing about it he seems to think that he can rap. He has about as much personality as Pras of The Fugees and his style is about as cool as a severe case of jock itch. Plus his beats are usually mediocre. The Good: Shyne's solo joint, Shyne is cool and Lil Kim gives a surprisingly good perfomance on Delirious. Birdman's Let Me See Ya Do Your Thing featuring Yung Wun is also a notable cut.
The Bad: Whoever told Pras oops I mean Azz Cheekz he can rap is either deaf or on base. Ghetto Stories is Swizz solo and he drops some Pras-type clunkers on that track also he seems to have problems rapping over his own wack beat. Guilty featuring Bounty Killer would have easily been a standout until Swizz Cheeze decided it was cool to bust some horrendous verses. His gorgeous wife Mashonda drops a tepid joint featuring LL Cool J(who makes the track worser than it has to be with some mushy rhymes)called Ghetto Love. Endalay featuring Busta Rhymes is so forgettable that I cant describe it. Eve's commercial Island Spice is the best song she's ever made in recent years and its still a dud. The Salute Me remix featuring Nas, Fat Joe and Cassidy is weak and I never thought I'd see the day that Cassidy has a better verse than Nas in a song. Styles P's Good Times is just bland and why its on here when its also on his first album is anybody's guess. The Ugly: Jadakiss's solo joint Big Business was lackluster by itself so the ultrawack remix with P Giddy, Birdman, Snoop and Cassidy was pointless to say the least. Nore proves that he is as tired as they come with dull N.O.R.E. with a hook that is just as elementary as the hook for his hit Superthug. The worst song on the album hands down is the horrid rap/rock&roll infusion We Did It Again with Metallica, Ja Rule as guests. Ja Rule's signature screaming as well as Metallica's over-the-top screaching on the track makes you hate rap/rock infusions with a passion. All those skit on the album especially the Alien skit are stupid beyond belief and they make listening to the album a difficult experience. Bottom Line: Swizz Beatz's G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories is one of the worst rap releases in 2002. Hackneyed beats, weak guest spots coupled with the fact that Swizz Beatz cant rhyme for diddly squat are all recipes of disaterous proportions. Swizz should just stick to making beats because quiet as kept he is the worst rapper next to Timbaland(Timbo gives him a run for his money though). Id rather listen to Pras's dreadful Win Lose Or Draw album than this mess. Its that bad!!!
An underated Classic.......2006-02-19
Swizz has been doing it for years. This album was one of the best released in 2002. It had terrible promtion though. I love this album being a Swizz Beatz fan who could not. I like pretty much every track on this LP. Cant wait for Pt 2 to drop. Keep bangin them out Swizzie. Oh Swizz u my favorite producer, but Im comin for yo spot.
Swizz Beatz has Talent!.......2005-01-20
This album has great beats, why wouldn't it. It's produced by Swizz! The ex-Ruff Ryder shows he can do it on his own. I look forward to hopefully a second album. If you like beats on DMX, Eve, or LOX albums......get this one!
lacks something, but overall okay........2004-05-03
This cd feels like it lacks alittle something. It has a bunch of good star features like Busta,Nas,Ja Rule,LL Cool J, Styles P,and even Lil' Kim. The songs are okay, overall not a bad purchase but like I said seems like it lacks something. This is a cd with great artists making appearences over some good beats from the beat master Swizz Beatz.
Sweet Beats.......2004-03-22
Swizz Beatz really doesnt rap that much on this album, mainly is guest appearacnes, that is what brings this albums up and down. Swizz got guests with different styles form all over the place. The Big Snoop Dogg from west coast, luv u better lover LL Cool J, Young Project Cassidy, Ruff Rider Chick Eve, LOX gangsta Jadakiss, R&B Ron Isley, Down South Bling Bling Baby and his singer TQ, the fast rappin inventor Busta Rhymes, the MURDA Ja Rule, and the High time Holiday Styles. He makes all of them sound good on his album and does very little but produce, which is okay, Bigger Business is one of the hotter songs.

If you like music with beat, get this!.......2003-08-21
The Ozomatli track is different from their normal release, but the main two tracks on here are the King Chango' track and the Tito Puente Vs. Nova & Blanquito Man(of King Chango). Usually Chango are making it a latin ska groove, but here they pump out the hip hop like no one's business.
All the other tracks are great too a lot of variety here, some I don't think I would classify as hip hop but more latin pop dance just with a heavier back beat.
All in all a great cd with many surprises.
Ozomatli rocks!.......2000-06-11
Ozomatli is one of the greatest hip hop acts around. Anyone that likes either hip hop or latin music should definately get this cd to get a taste of them or get their album for a whole platter, its definately worth it!

A Very Good Sequel - Worth the purchase.......2001-08-06
I stumbled upon the second one at the record store this weekend (sorry ...) just before giving up the hope of finding it in person. This is a terrific CD. The DJ's mixing Bossa Nova titles and Brazilian music in general accompanied by live musicians is quite the thing these days.
The first reviewer was correct in that this cd definitely feels jazzier than the first one. There is far more instrumentation, and all in all some of the tracks are longer. Terrific music, terrific sounds and great if this is what you are listening to on the way to the classy latin night club. This is a great CD - the hardest part is to compare it to another, other than the first cd that came out. If you like the sound of BossaCucaNova's O Barquinho or some of their newer work from Brasilidade, you may like this one. However it differs from BossaCucaNova in that it's jazzier!
bahia blues.......2001-04-26
it has a relaxing vibe... it makes you wanna close your eyes tap your foot and bop your head... it takes you to brazil...it makes you feel like you're sitting on a beach... sunset... nice cool drink..breeze blowin...sand under your feet.... and i threw my beeper in the sea.....big ups to DJ Spinna and Monet!
Worth the Trip.......2001-04-25
After the great first edition of Trip Do Brasil, the sequel, V.2, will again get everybody addicted who likes Brasilian-style vibes mixed eletronically. This one is jazzier and worth a front space in your record shelf (maybe right next to V.1).

Love iiiitt!!!!!.......2004-08-19
Man, Floorfilla knows hot to rock the dance floor! I got the [IMPORT] version, with the bonus CD, and both CDs ROCK! The tracks could have been titled differently though, like Cokemon, (Cokane Moneterz). It should have been titled something like, Hymn #1. Le Delire sounds a little along those lines, and Floorfilla doing techno hymns with bass and sweet melodic sequences would the rock the house! Anthem #1, Est-Ce Que...! and Cokemon are the best! But this whole CD just straight out rules!! Thumbs up to DJ Cerla, keep up the rockin' tunes! I'm going to get Le Voyage as soon as possible!! Woo!!
FLOORFILLA "BEATS!".......2003-06-12
Hey! ...This CD is tha bestest! ...And, Honestly, I think the ANTHEMS are the bestest Tracks, and cant wait till the next ALBUM is released! ...Especially Delair and SISTER GOLDEN HAIR ...Its gonna be great!
The best album ever.......2002-09-12
this is a exellant cd and i will never ever regret buying it
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2002-04-05
this cd is absolutley banging, if u love lots o' base in your tunes your guna love this, its got all the old tunes you'll want to hear over and over and great in the car, it works so well with your car boot filled with subs a big thumbs up to floorfilla they know how to rock the beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You make the call.......2001-05-30
This c.d. wasn't what I expected. I'm a huge progressive house fan and this just isn't cutting it for me. Track 4 has to be hands down the dumbest track I've ever heard, this c.d also contains some fillers that just annoy me. Don't get me wrong there are some phat tracks on it but not enough for me. Some people might love this c.d. but if your into progressive I'd go with Mixin Marc,Naw T Boy or Brooklyn Bounce Those are all great progressive c.d.s especially Brooklyn Bounce
