Album Description
Experience the perfect peace within and without. This exquisite music is soothing, uplifting and will illuminate your heart with joy. The final recording from legendary vocalist Singh Kaur (Fairy Nightsongs, The Crimson Series) -- This Universe is an enchanting message of love that radiates grace and serenity. The purity of Singh Kaur's ethereal voice shines through on the extended ancient chant "This Universe," a gorgeous and enchanting original version of "A Spark in the Night," and a breathtaking musical version of "The Lord's Prayer." The deeply touching beauty of Singh Kaur's voice is a rare gift and she recorded this extraordinary music as her final offering to her fans. Produced by Gary Stadler (Fairy NightSongs, Fairy Heart Magic) and featuring artfully sensitive keyboard orchestrations by Raphael (Music to Disappear Into) and special guest Lisa Lynne on Celtic harp, "This Universe" will deepen and enhance your yoga, the healing arts or meditation.
Customer Reviews:
Enchantment.......2007-04-03
This music is so exquisite it brings tears of joy to my eyes. I have never been so moved. Wonderful for meditation or just relaxed enjoyment. A singer with perfect pitch and an enormously talented composer. This beautiful music will take you into presence.
Heavenly.......2007-03-10
Singh Kaur's heavenly music is the perfect antitdote to a busy and stress-filled day. I easily come back home, to my most shining self, when I listen to her other-worldly CD.
Equisite and Filled Eternal Bliss.......2005-10-12
Just exquisite! I love Singh Kaur from her Crimson Series releases and absolutely adored her previous collaboration with Gary Stadler on "Fairy NightSongs". But this new release fills me with such joy and wonder and opens my heart in a way that I have never experienced from music before. Singh Kaur's voice is radiant and pierces my soul with it's devotional passion and tenderness. I feel blessed to have found this magnificent piece of music. Thank you, thank you, thank you Gary Stadler for bringing Singh Kaur's final musical gift to us all. Many Blessings.
All Pain And Sorrow Depart.......2005-09-14
As I've mentioned elsewhere I have a deep, visceral reaction when I hear Singh Kaur's voice. Suddenly I stop for a moment, as the wise say, my mind opens, and I remember that the problem isn't me, the problem is my reaction to the problem. This dates back to my first discovery of her series of chants done on the independent ?Invincible label with Kim Robertson on harp. This Crimson collection, her final recording, is the closest thing to healing music that I have ever heard. Unfortunately, the set has to be sought out or ordered, and many people simply have never heard what is one of the most powerful voices in new age music.
I don't know if I can put my finger on what exactly is it about her singing that does this. The Spark in the Night, the first cut on this album is a reworking of an old melody of hers. The simplicity of her voice, the purity of her tone fits right into the music. As her singing matured, her voice gained coloration, and this song works not simply as and easy melody, but it reaches the listener emotionally as well.
Most of the album (43 minutes) is spent on the title piece, this universe. Combining wit Gary Stadler, Lisa Lynne, and several others, it is meditation music perfection. While anything of this length is going to be repetitious, Singh Kaur manages to vary dynamics, rhythm and color so that even the repetition is soothing. This is no small accomplishment in a world where many people think that meditation music should be electronic choirs droning over electronic strings. Singh Kaur is never hackneyed.
Rather than drone on about Kaur's talents, I suggest that, if you are looking for the narrow path to inner quiet, you stop a moment and listen for yourself.

breathless.......2006-05-31
The sound from harnoy;s cello is enough to make me cry. she produces such tone and anyone that doesnt agree is uneducated. what can i say elanor rigby the phrassing outstanding ofra has been and still is one of my favorite cellist.
Beatles Like I've Never Heard Before.......2005-02-10
I borrowed this CD from the library out of curiosity and what a delightful suprise. The interpretation of Beatles music is wonderfully simple - I especially love the different variations done with the same tune in some of the pieces giving them a fresh sound. Harmonies between cello and violin in "Norwegian Wood", "Across the Universe" and "Girl" are mesmerising. Mostly played with a slow tempo, this is great soothing music after a stressful day. This CD is definitely worth purchasing for a twist in popular Lennon-McCartney compositions.
4 stars for song selection, otherwise 5 stars for interpretation.
Interesting Cover, but Bad CD.......2004-06-05
I can not believe that Ofra is even famous. Her playing is so stiff and lacks phrasing. Her tone quality is horrible. The only reason that she makes recordings is because her father is rich and he bought her a several million dollar cello and paid symphony orchestras to let her play solos with them. But, it is interesting to hear a cellist play the Beatles. Only buy this CD if you have boughten every cd on this webstite and have a little money left over.
Beautiful and Relaxing.......2004-05-21
The Beatles and Ofra Harnoy! The best of both worlds! What more could you ask for? A friend gave me this CD, and I have enjoyed listening to this right before bedtime every night. Ms. Harnoy, I applaud you for making some of the finest renditions of my favorite Beatles tunes. If you're a semi-professional classical musician like me and you don't have this in your CD collection, you're missing out--Big Time!!! 5 + stars for a wonderful CD!!!!
Lovely and powerful.......2002-01-01
Before you write this off as another attempt to "muzak" the Beatles, listen to Harnoy's lovely playing on "She's Leaving Home," "Across The Universe" and "Girl" and see if you still feel that way once you've heard them. A great set of interpretations by a most evocative cellist.

"Parallel Universe" is the second album by the groundbreaking band Leiahdorus, presenting a perfect evolution from their debut album. With catchy songs and haunting vocal performances, this album shines brilliantly with creativity and top-notch productions skills. The music is always changing, taking the listener on twists and turns through the unexpected, touching on different emotions, and in the end it leaves you wanting more. Synthpop it redefined in Leiahdorus' "Parallel Universe".
Customer Reviews:
Out of this world!!!.......2006-08-17
Yes Ashes Ashes was superb but, this is how a band evolves!! The addition of Fox on guitar (especially live) is wonderful!! (yes I know Joey plays the guitar on one song). however, Guitar added to synthpop is a match made in heaven. I wouldn't even consider This music synthpop in the pure sense of the word. take one listen to the title track and tell me this shouldn't be played on indie rock stations across the US. I wish that once the new baby gets a little older and these guys can play out live more that they could add live drums to their act. I can see it happening!!
Synthpop at its best!.......2006-04-11
This is an excellent follow-up to Ashes, Ashes and, although it's hard to top songs like "Indigent," "Jupiter" and "Wake," this CD stands in the very rare space of an album where every single song is good! I dare you not to sing along with "Kiss on the Telephone," "Run," "When It's Dark I'm Five Again" and "Transmission." Jason, Darla and Fox have created a masterpiece that is a must have for every synthpop (and non-synthpop!) fan. This is a brilliant album and has become one of my favorites of all time!
Moody, mellow, but a must have.......2006-02-21
Kiss on the Telephone, S.O.S., and Parallel Universe are excellent slower synthpop songs. This CD is more moody and although I enjoy it, Ashes Ashes is definitely better. Nonetheless, it is a must have for those of us who love bands like Iris, De/Vision, Neuropa, etc.
excellent.......2006-01-07
Maybe not quite as good as their debut, but "When it's dark I'm five again," "Kiss on the telephone" and "transmission" are all excellent and very much in the same mold as the first album. I'm sure the rest will grow on me, as the songs on the debut did.
Yet another band doing Depeche Mode better than Depeche Mode can these days.
INSANE!!!! AMAZING ALBUM!.......2005-09-22
this cd holds place as the favorite cd i've bought in 2005, it takes this years #1 spot on my personal list. i am blown away every time i listen to the album. its so lyrically beautiful, musically killer, the perfect sound i've been longing to hear. dont hesitate to buy this cd, i guarantee you wont regret it.

Transformative Ambient Escape .......2006-09-29
Frederic Delarue's Voyage of the Soul begins with soul shivering sounds capturing expansive oceanic textures as it sweeps in wave after wave of attention capturing musical comfort. The inspired music on this CD is said to be from celestial realms and you can truly feel the love flowing through this musical experience.
This is truly some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard and it seeps into your very soul in a way that is difficult to describe, but it presents a moment for heightened spiritual awareness. You can feel your heart opening to an ecstatic experience in a way that is rare and exquisite.
Dr. Masaru Emoto studied Frederic Delaru'e music and the water crystal photographs show beautiful floral diamonds. You can actually feel this music in your body and how it radiates light through your cells, as if your energy is vibrating at a more enlightened state. You feel lighter and happier as a sense of joy pervades your soul through ambient moods created through organ and piano along with electronic flourishes and texures.
Frederic Delarue was born in Chartres, France, the home of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. So, it is no wonder his music embraces the heights of the spiritual experience all while remaining grounded in a sense of profound moments as experienced here on earth. He has also recently toured Japan and Washington State, USA.
Highly Recommended for soul healing, relaxation, meditation, heightened creativity, moments of absolute peace and enhancing the feeling of all-pervading love! AKG headphones take this experience to new levels!
~The Rebecca Review
from Solo Piano Publications.......2002-03-07
I'm not sure which is more interesting - Frederic Delarue's story or his first US release, "Voyage of the Soul". The French-born composer was in a life-altering car accident at the age of eleven, where he encountered "angels and beings of light", and he has channeled his musical talents for healing and spiritual growth ever since. Testimonials on his website tell of laying-on of hands in concerts and of summoning angels and beings of light to the stage as well as within the audience to bring about healing. Delarue has also established "Your Name in Music", where he creates a piece of music based on the person's name, connecting him or her to a higher self. This is pretty heady stuff, but the CD is full of ethereal, blissful music that will calm and soothe whether or not you are in search of your angels. Some of the music reminds me a little bit of 2002 and some of Yanni's early work, but Delarue certainly has his own musical voice. One track, "Future of the Sea" was featured on Real Music's compilation, "Cousteau's Dream".
"Voyage of the Soul" is a collection of twelve original pieces that "pay tribute to the forces of nature, celebrate the human spirit, and propel the listener on an otherworldly journey into cosmic realms". The pieces range from ambient and ethereal to quite rhythmic and upbeat. The "voyage" begins with "Higher Voice", a beautiful, floating piece with angelic voices behind an instrumental base that evokes the feeling of drifting out in space. "Dream Within a Dream" is a fascinating blend of instruments and musical styles. With a strong rhythmic track along with piano, flutes, and many other sounds, this piece seems to be propelled by the sheer love and joy of making music. Although the melody is poignant in sections, this piece is full of sunshine and smiles. "Future of the Sea" is another favorite. One of the more ambient pieces, it is melancholy but hopeful. The title track is an ambitious twelve minute piece that begins with a lovely piano solo and builds slowly, adding new voices, sounds, and drama. Also ambient and floating, it is very peaceful and soothing. "Reflection" has a bittersweet piano-based melody that I really love. "Promenade" is a surprise with its bagpipes and playful nature - a delightful diversion! "Agape" is truly "French" in spirit - again, light, upbeat, and completely charming. "Full Circle" closes the set with angel voices and the feeling of drifting in the clouds.
Frederic Delarue has created an excellent "Voyage" with this CD. The music is so heartfelt and sincere that you can't help but be swept away by it. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this CD many times in several different settings, and recommend it very highly.

Album Description
Wideband Network's debut album "Universe" introduces the band's unique synthpop blend, featuring catchy songs with a fun attitude, a futuristic vision, and smooth vocals. The production is slick, with electronic programing that moves from danceable and exciting to smooth and floaty. It's a strong album from a band that is ready to establish themselves in the electronic pop scene without copying anything you've heard before.
Customer Reviews:
A music lover.......2004-05-28
Incredible. Even if I love a disc, I usually tire of it within a few listenings. Not the case with this music. It's layers and melodies seem to keep unfolding. This is a must have disc - no question about it. My only complaint is I have to wait for them to put out another disc!
Remarkable - Amazing - Detailed.......2003-11-27
RAD MAN! I totally dig the cd. Its probably one of my most favorite cds ever. I have been a BT fan for over 5 years and let me tell you. This band is such a stretch into the work and style of BT. They create there own styles, there own beats, there own atmospheric blends. This cd is remarkable, the vocals are sick, the beats are dope.
If you like to dance, and you want something that will keep your head bobbing...... WBN is for you
RIGHT ON!!
Very catchy music.......2003-11-09
This has to be one of my most spun CDs that I have purchased in the past month or so. That says a lot as I have bought 3 or 4 really awsome new CDs in the past month(Anything Box, Camouflage, ...). The music on this CD is really interesting, there are definately many layers to it. I like how the vocals are at time shorter and choppy. No ballads on this CD. The interesting use of vocals and the style of the singing really adds to the luster of the CD. I love songs like "Superman" with a very catchy intro and an awsome chorus to keep ya listening. "You wanna see me and / You wanna be me but / You don't know / What it takes to be me / What it takes to live a fantasy". With tracks like "Forward Reverse Universe", "Superman", "Drops of Sugar", and "Freedom" one can hardly go wrong.
Very highly recommended if you like catchy electronic music with has some meaning.
Original, Outstanding.......2003-07-07
This album is great. It's 100% new and original material, like nothing I've ever heard, but noticeable influences all over the board. These guys have a techno influence but they know how to use real instruments, which makes for some great synth-pop with a kind of organic feel.
The production is by far the most note worthy, it is done with artistry and a finely tuned ear. Perfect timing and many complex and fascinating layers, worthy of many listens, and a great example for aspiring producers everywhere. The lyrics are very original and, while they don't take themselves too seriously, they are delivered with feeling and a great sort of raw not over-produced voice.
If that isn't enough. I can't even believe that they do all this online, one guy in Ohio and one guy in Washington (state). What more can I say, I look forward to more from these guys.
Simply Awesome.......2003-06-29
I must say, this is not your run of the mill never ending techno CD. Quite the opposite! It takes the techno sound to a whole new level by having more of an emphasis on the vocals than most other artists. Take that, mix it in with sonds like "Superhero" and "Drops of Sugar" along with every other great song on this CD, and you have an amazing album that will give you endless hours of entertainment.

IKE ROCKS.......2005-10-11
This is an awesome cd by a great band out of Philly. Great up beat power pop songs along with beautiful slower songs. Harmonies are great and it just puts a smile on your face. Highly recommended!! And if you can see these guys (and gal) live do it they have so much energy on stage.
Great Find!.......2005-10-07
I ordered this CD on a whim. I heard two of the songs during a scene on All My Children and just had to know who sang them. I found out thru another source and just had to get the CD. It is one of my favorites. Hope to hear more of this band. They have a great sound.
Best rock album I have heard in years..........2004-10-28
We have followed the band for 3 years and attended over 60 shows. The cd and the band are great. One cannot go wrong buying this cd...
DO NOT PASS GO !.......2004-09-24
There are commercial bands that live and die by the promotion and financial guidance of their labels that are talently marginal at best. We can all rattle off a dozen or so examples without thinking too hard. Then there are incredibly talented individuals that play by their own rules and continually put out well produced, well written and wonderfully performed releases just like "Parallel Universe" by IKE. John Faye who originally caught my ear when with the Caufileds and The John Faye Power Trip continues to labor away at his craft alongside of Cliff Hillis who is also no stranger to individual success. I don't offer praise very often but this group's time for recognition and commercial succees is far overdue. Do not pass go - do not collect $200 - go directly to checkout and BUY THIS CD!
Amazing album.......2003-03-22
I have seen IKE play all these songs live for about a year now. I was so amazed whith the songs when they finaly got put on an album. John's voice is amazing. I love the way that Cliff's and John's voices just blend together. I can say enough about this album. So far It has not left my cd player in my car. It's all that I listen to.

Painfully off.......2003-03-02
I wish I had paid attention to the other review on this page before acquiring this CD. I don't know how this CD got released, the monks on their own sound alright but the combo with Shalamut just does not work and her voice is predominant through the CD. I have no doubt the intentions were good and of the highest, but the results are not pleasing to listen to as her voice wavers and does not sound harmonious. Regretfully I have to give this CD a big thumbs down. If anyone does enjoy this CD I would really like to hear why.
Extremely disappointed.......2002-11-19
I love sacred music and chants but I was extremely disappointed with this CD. Unfortunately Shulamit cannot hold a note on key and this collaboration just does not work. I could barely listen to the CD the whole way through and will not be listening to it again. An expensive lesson that you can save yourself from.
Touched by Sound.......2001-09-08
I have been deeply touched through the experience of hearing the Vibration C.D. that Shulamit has produced in collaboration with the Monks of the Drepung Monastary. It is music to my soul; my innermost being. All at once I feel nourished & loved; Nurturing & loving; Iam reminded of something that I know & remember but to which there are not really any words to describe. I want this sound in my life & would be sorry to not have the pleasure of receiving this beautiful energy- source were it denied me,
I am grateful to Shulamit for presenting this opportunity to the world.
