Let me tell you something.......2006-04-02

"Illuminate" is my first Azoic cd. I have always wanted to check out their music but that kept getting pushed back by other artists. I finally bought "Illuminate" not too long ago. I have to admit that "Illuminate" took some time to grow on me. Kristy Venrick's vocals had a tendency to sound a bit monotonous through out the cd. "Let Me Tell You Something" is evidence of just how monotonous her voice sounds. To be honest she sounded more like a man on this song. It's a catchy song but her voice is a bit flat and monotonous. Thankfully that is the one song where Kristy sounded like a man. I dug the bouncy synth beats of "Going Under". That song definitely has a good, bouncy club beat to it which makes it perfect to dance to. My personal favorite song has to be the title track. It has all the right hooks and beats to make this listener addicted to the song. I also love the cover of Animotion's "Obsession". Azoic does a great job of staying faithful to the song yet injecting their own sound of EBM to the song. There were a couple of weak tracks that lacked the same energy and hooks that "Illuminate" and "Obsession" possesses. Otherwise "Illuminate" is a solid Azoic cd for this first time listener.

You are an obsession.......2005-09-01

This is my first album from this group, and I can't say I'm disappointed. The music is very dancey and fast on some of the tracks. For the most part, the group has an industrial feel, leaning a tad on the techno-ey side. All of the music is done primarily with keyboards.
Stand out songs for me are `Ever' and `Truth'; just brilliant. I love their cover of `Obsession'. This song has always been so sexy and they make it even more so with their unique vocals and industrial instrumentation. It just seems to me that some of the songs in this album have more depth and emotion in them than others; very hit or miss with me.

The vocals are primarily done by Kristy Venrick with a few tracks accompanied with Steve Laskarides doing vocals. Kristy's voice is absolutely alluring. She has a rich, strong singing style. She really gives the music its edge.

If you like electronic music that is on the industrial side, check this out. It's not as despairing and bleak as most industrial music tends to be.

Heavenly vocals, great beats.......2005-07-08

This album has become my primary workout soundtrack. I love to run with this album on my iPod - it really gets me running hard keeps me going. Kristy's vocals get stronger with every release, but with this album, they took an exponential leap forward. Not only do the vocals hold a great deal of emotion, but they are so pure and crisp and she uses the full extent of her range. Outstanding tracks are "Let Me Tell You Something," "Illuminate," "Truth," and my favorite track on the entire album "Going Under."

A high energy release that's perfect for working out, getting down on the dance floor or just for playing any time you want to get your heart pumping. This album is highly recommended.

Album Of The Decade.......2005-04-23

"Illuminate" brings forth The Azoics new full length album boasting their astonishingly powerful new sound. The EP's "Conflict" and "Forward", both jaw-dropping in their own right, were but a sample of what The Azoic were preparing!

I will confess that the Azoics early releases weren't very interesting to me, but this album is probably my favorite album of all time, it has all the right hooks, melodies, beats, and GORGEOUS VOCALS by KRISTY VENRICK to claim that title, perhaps even, album of the decade!

The Azoic + their record label are creating an industrial/synth dance revolution, with quite a few other bands following their example or being brought to the attention of a wider industrial audience. So far, I have not heard anything bad surface from Nilaihah records.

I got this back when it first came out but I only had it on cassette and haven't listened to it in years. I ordered the CD through Amazon and it's still as awesome now as it was then. This is exactly what dance/techno music should aspire to sound like. Great stuff.

Okay,
Superstar DJ Keoki may seem a bit pompous in proclaiming himself a techno-god. All you need to do is listen to one of his many works and you'll be telling your friends the same thing.
His mixes are unbelievable, mind blowing, and will tranceport you on a new musical plateau.
Enough big words. Buy this disc, it's among his best. One listen and you'll want more

This cd is one of the best works by this super star dj, althogh i don't feel it is to par with disco death race it deserves 4 and a half stars but thats not an option so i round up.

SUSAN HAYWARD BELTS IT OUT.......2005-03-31

This CD is a rare treat for Susan Hayward fans - a chance to hear her do her own singing in the film "I'll Cry Tomorrow" based on the story of Lillian Roth, who battled alcoholism in her life. The sound quality is EXCELLENT and the CD includes extensive notes, and even includes unused tracks, such as the vocal efforts of studio vocalist Sandy Ellis, who was originally going to dub for Hayward. Many people are not aware that the real Lillian Roth was disapointed that her own voice tracks were not used for the film. But, Hayward surprised everyone with her surprisingly goodvocal range. The background music is exceptionally fineas well, and is all included here. This CD is a must-have for Susan Hayward fans - and lovers of fine film score music as well.

Very different.......2002-10-04

I listen to a lot of eletronica music, everything from house to ambient, to drum and bass. The Replicant is a little of everything. Some of the songs make you feel like dancing, and some gives you that errie kind of feeling. Very futuristic, never too repetitive (unlike a lot of house music), and a lot of different effects you don't hear in other electronica music. I highly recommend this one.

Scribe machine has been added to my list behind Depeche Mode, Red Flag, New Order. I found them through redflag.org ( love RED FLAG)/Plan B recs. Their music is so energizing. I love the use of the synthesizers and beats! My all time favorite on the album so far is Mechanotherapy(Track one) which as soon as it ends, I press the replay button. I have Red Flag's "Who are the Skulls?"and Scribe Machine did some remixes on it that I liked. I can't wait for some more albums from them. Thanks!

If you are a fan of electronic/synthpop genre and are willing to open up to a new approach in this platform. SCRIBE MACHINE will be the absolute choice to step on to.

SCRIBE MACHINE is the first group that got sign on Plan B Records (the record company under RED FLAG management). And you can just see why Reynolds brothers (RED FLAG) made that right decision. Most of the songs here are instrumental. Yes, I know some people hate instrumental. But, as I have mentioned above, if you're willing to expand your music horizon wider, you won't be regret !!

Each song is crafted beautifully. Layered instruments and innovative sounds are SCRIBE MACHINE's greatest strengths. There's one song with amazing vocal here that I really like ("FRAGILE"). I think the whole album is worth it with that single only.

No boring stuff here. This whole album will keep you entertained and enriched your musical backgrounds. I highly recommend it. Pick it up, don't hesitate. Peace !!

I was excepting this to be a good CD after reading all of the glowing reviews - but this disc stinks! I love trance, but this CD is track after track of repetitive air-raid sirens. It is not music, but annoying noise. Try anything by Nick Warren instead.

This album really has kick.......2001-03-18

This album by Carter really has some bump to it! "Lit Up" is some of the hardest trance I've yet heard... and it works! It is very cool to dance to or just drive to. It has seamless transitions between songs and still pushes the envelope of musical texture.

The only drawback was the price. It is a little pricey for a single disk album of trance.

So. A pretty decent output for Moonshine.

(Also try DJ Mixed on the Moonshine label if you like this album.)

Definetly HARD!.......2000-02-05

Hard Trance is comin up in a big way and Cirrus's DJ Carter proves it with his trip out set of songs on this CD. It will take you on a trip and make you pump your fist like you were at a rave and there were 500 people around you doing the same. Movin Through Your System is off the hook and The DJ Micro remix of Stop and Panic is completely insane and a sure croud pleaser.

Every ear-pounding song is good.......1999-11-14

Tired of buying techno CDs for the one or two good songs? Then get DJ Aaron Carter's Lit Up. All the songs are good and have a hard techno flavor to them, and all of this from a debut album! The songs 'Neuro', 'Acid Conspiracy' and 'Hurricane Warning' are especially good. The market seems to be flooded with house, trance and club music, but finding CDs with good, hardcore techno is becoming harder and harder. Hopefully Carter will stay around for a while.
