About the Artist
Ilya originally got caught with the music bug in his childhood, while listening to Rock bands in the Seventies, practicing guitar riffs to the sounds of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. But his fascination with the music didn't end with just playing guitars. The writing and production aspects captivated and led him to master the art of sound engineering and music production. While working in various recording studios he gathered vast knowledge and experience in music making. Throughout his 17 year career, Ilya had the opportunity to work on a wide range of musical projects, collaborating with top industry recording artists such as Mary J Blige, Angie Stone and Will Downing among others. It was not long before Ilya had established his own production company, Artsonic, facilitating a full fledge recording studio that became a home base for his own personal musical journeys. Ilya's love affair with Electronic music began in 1998 while working on "Musaic", an experimental project for the independent label "Killer Music". After becoming more familiar with the genre, Ilya had started to work independently on original electronic music compositions. Combining skills he acquired as a professional engineer with conceptual writing and sound design, Ilya created his own unique style and sound. His growing interest in the electronic music scene led him to collaborate with similar artists. He then formed "Magnifica" with fellow DJ/Producer Dan Bino. Together they have released Downshift Records' first release "Funkular", which became a success among DJs worldwide. The record found place in many respectable DJ charts including Paul Van Dyk and Pete Tong. Soon thereafter Ilya was approached by the dance act "Soularis" who requested his involvement with co-writing and production of their upcoming album. The collaboration with the group gave birth to several new songs and remixes, some of which were released as singles.

After cranking out albums on a variety of labels since their 1978 founding, the Radiators are still best known within their home base of Louisiana. Yearly headlining gigs at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival notwithstanding, the band--who have yet to lose a member in nearly three decades--haven't managed to crack either the fertile jam market or the blues rock one. That's because most of their recordings have failed to combine the restless funk, blues, R&B, and rock influences into memorable original songs or coherent albums. That problem is not solved on this collection, the band's first post-Katrina album (first in five years, actually)--but there remains plenty to enjoy, even if lead singer Ed Volker's dusky voice isn't distinctive enough to propel this typically eclectic set of ballads and rockers, despite the band's muscular performance. Good-time party rockers such as "Rollercoaster," the jaunty "Good Things," and the opening, soulful "Ace in the Hole" join the Neil Young-inspired "Like a Hurricane" bluster of "Rub It In," the mid-tempo, radio-ready "Lost Radio," and the bar-blues-rocking "The Man Who Lost His Head." The band is difficult to pigeonhole, but a greasy Crescent City vibe covers each track. Like most Radiators studio releases, the rootsy songs are well played but don't pack a robust enough punch. A jolt of live juice to shake the dust off and nail a groove, as they typically do in concert, would work wonders. As difficult to dislike as it is to get excited about, the well-intentioned Dreaming Out Loud could use a shot of caffeine to wake up these performances. --Hal Horowitz

A wonderful mix of old time favorites and wonderful new songs. One of the most unacknowledged rock 'n roll bands in America, the Radiators pull out all of the stops with this cd. Kudos to the band for 29 years of consistency and innovation. Highly recommended. Lets Radiate!

    When her Father recommended this album and boasted about her singing I just thought he was just another proud Dad boasting and sharing his love and pride for her.

    I ordered Kimberlee's CD and now I know what her Dad told me is absolutely true. Kimberlee sings with a resonance and depth of voice that will ring in your ears and make you want to dance with the flowing rhythm of her words and music.

    From talking to Kimberlee (email) I find she is also deeply filled with a sense of faith and compassion.

    Buy her CD, you will not only be buying a great addition to your collection now but be part of the audience that can say I knew her songs when she was just starting to take off and fly.

      Roman's "Dreaming Out Loud" is such a breath of fresh air! He doesn't try to sound like anybody else. The album is musically clear and lyrically beautiful. Rather than relying on negativity or what's wrong with society these days, Roman has chosen to go with the time honored rock and roll tradition of exploring the many sides of love. His voice reminds me of Patrick Swayze in some respects. Not so much on "Slice of Heaven", where he's singing a little higher, but particularly in the ballads. "For Once In My Life" really reminds me of Swayze's "She's Like the Wind" from the movie "Dirty Dancing". NOT to say that this is a "pop" album by ANY stretch. There's plenty of guitar work and drums to remind you that this IS a melodic hard rock album. While Roman definitely has his own sound, I guess I would place it somewhere between Van Halen and Warrant. Not quite as smooth as Warrant, but not quite as hard as Van Halen. Just somewhere in between, and it's a GOOD place to be. Something around the Kane Roberts or Bon Jovi speed. I think this album is only the beginning of what promises to be a stellar career for Roman. I would definitely recommend this album to anybody who's a fan of melodic hard rock. Pick up a copy of "Dreaming Out Loud" today. You might also want to check out some of your other favorite bands in the genre.
