Disc 1 is for fans of the happy, uplifting vocal circuit music Julian Marsh is known for spinning. Surprisingly, there aren't so many cover tunes here. Oh L'amour is an interesting choice, considering there have been more modern remixes done of the original Erasure version, but I guess rights issues got in the way. With a concentration on NRG vocals at the beginning, the disc winds down to more instrumental, airy trance stuff at the end:

CD2: is an old school feel of hiNRG...including some covers-I Am What I Am, And I'm Telling You, and the Jacksons' "Can You Feel It" (pretty hot remake of an awesome original track, this time with a female vocalist) and even some original old school tracks thrown in, including Aretha and Sylvester. Unfortunately, the concept of mixing different eras of dance music seems like a lot of fun in theory, but there's a drastic change in the quality of sound when the disc segues from the new stuff to the older stuff. Technology has done wonders over the years for the fullness of dance music beats and bass, and it shows. The energy just dies at the end of this disc, and then is suddenly revived by the last song by Dr. Alban, which is pretty hot.

San Francisco's best Circuit DJ follows up his tremendous CIRCUIT GROOVES 9.1 with 10.1, a true triumph. He was the Master of Metropolis and now he's the master of the Circuit Scene.

CIRCUIT GROOVES 10.1 is a non-stop thill ride that stars with strong energetic vocal house to set the mood, strong tribal vocal house to get the journey moving and smooth vocal trance to put us over the edge. There are tons of must have tracks on this CD i'd not found anywhere else. This is the DJ who broke bands like Trouser Enthusiasts, Sonique, DJ Jurger, Emma Shapplin. Just check this track lising out, and you'll know who the next big artists are. Amazing! Looking forward to Circuit Grooves 11.1

this is a must buy. the first 3 tracks are high energy house. then starts the trance beat. the music continues to build all the way through. i'm only giving 4 stars because it's difficult to listen to this at one playing without some beat fatigue setting in. but this is one of the best compilations on the market. don't pass it up. also check out 'circuit grooves 9.1.'
